Epic, fiery and unforgettable!

Dragon forged by Donna Grant got me hooked from the very first page. I was hooked with the intense world-building, fast-paced action, and sizzling chemistry between the lead characters. The dragons are fierce, the danger is real, and the love story burns brighter tben dragon fire.

Donna Grant has a gift for making you feel like your right thrre in the heart of the action, surrounded by magic, mystery and myth. The emotiomal depth made the characters feel truly alive. If your a fan of strong heroines, irresistible dragon shofters, and steamy romance, this book is an absolute must-read.

Dragon Forged is book 10 in the Dragon King series. This is my first book from Donna and I was not disappointed. This book was filled with magic users, dragons, and a world of action packed thrilling adventure.

And who doesn’t love dragons?!

I went into this book completely blind having never read any books prior in this series and just knowing information by the blurb. I was scared that I wasn't going to fully understand what was happening, but as I kept reading everything began to piece together.

This was a fast paced book, where I didn't find anything to be boring. Though I feel like I could have used some more world building which I would have gotten from reading the books previously in the series. I still very much enjoyed this read!

Thank you NetGalley and Donna Grant for sending me this Arc for an honest review.

I’m always a huge fan of anything, Donna Grant writes. This book is part 10 of the Dragon King series. While you definitely do not need to read the other 9 books I definitely would recommend it. They are worth it.

This book is Hector and Emilia's story. It is a great action packed journey of two people from different places( literally different worlds) coming together to find happiness. As always there are returning characters and a HEA. I would definitely recommend this.

4.5 ⭐️

Thank you to Netgalley and Donna Grant for this ARC

First of all thanks to NetGalley, the publisher & Donna Grant for the e-arc!
This was my first ever Donna Grant book and I really enjoyed this experience! I thought it might be a bit difficult to understand this book (seeing as it is book 10 in a series) but that was not the case! I quickly fell in love with the characters and the storyline. It kept me intrigued. I’ll definitely check out the beginning of this series!

This was my first read of the series and I was so excited to be given an Advanced Reader Copy. Hector, the featured dragon king of this novel was so likeable. The story was intriguing. Though this is book #10, I did not feel lost and was able to follow along easily. Dragon Forged was a hit for me. I will definitely be adding the Dragon Kings series to my TBR.

I received an advance reader’s copy of Dragon Forged from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review, and I am so grateful for the opportunity!

This is the first book I’ve read in the series, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to jump right in. Donna Grant does an excellent job of weaving in enough backstory and world-building that I never felt lost, even as a newcomer.

The characters are compelling, the pacing is fast, and the romance and action blend perfectly. I was immediately drawn into the story and found myself invested in the characters’ journeys from the very first chapter. I loved the rich mythology and the emotional depth throughout the book.

Thank you again to Netgalley and the publisher for providing my copy. I highly recommend Dragon Forged to both longtime fans and new readers alike!

Third Person Dual POV 3.75/5 stars
This was a fun read, blending together a lot of fun elements like slow-burn, shifters (dragons), magic etc.
Our MMC Hector is hot and protective without falling into being an over-the-top smothering love interest. Emilia seems shy and quiet at first but soon proves to have an impressive strength and courage many others lack. They first meet when Hector is magically summoned to a mysterious place where he meets Emilia. Their meeting, while short, provokes enough intrigue in Hector that he returns quickly. The story that then unfolds involve magic, mystery, a few enemies and one adorable little boy.
I made the mistake of thinking this could be read as a stand-alone, however I quickly discovered that was not the case. I found myself confused whenever the plot moved to discuss anything that had obviously occurred in previous books. While I don't think anything was particularly spoilery for the previous books, not reading them first definitely hindered my understanding of the world building and connections between a lot of the side characters to the MMC.
I also believed this was going to be a first person narrative based on the way the synopsis was written. Another incorrect assumption as this is written entirely in third person. While I usually struggle to engage with books in this style, I found that the plot in this one proved intriguing enough that I didn't have too much of a problem with the vantage point.
Thanks to the Author, Publisher and NetGalley for providing this free eArc. All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley for the Arc!

This was the first book in the series that I have read. Was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to understand some things since I have not read the previous books. That being said - by the second chapter I was hooked. The characters and love story have a nice paced development but maybe could’ve used some more world building - which I may have missed in the previous books. This book definitely makes me want to start the series from the beginning and catch up on what I missed!

Another good book in the series. This one has Hector and Emilia, a seer, who meet and get entangled in magic and politics. Lots of untrustworthy friends, corruption, and so on. Good read, and would recommend.

Loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding paranormal story. Because of Amelia's visions, she has to stop any dragon king from reaching them, and she can't stop Hector, and he wants Amelia to answer his questions, but Hector gets imprisoned by the island. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting romance story. Can't wait to read the next story in the series by the phenomenally talented author, Donna Grant!

Dragon Forged takes us to a whole new location on Zora - Highvale, a hidden sanctuary for those with magic who seek safety from those who are trying to kill anyone with magic. It is accessible by going through the underground ruins of Iron Hall, and that's where Hector finds a corridor leading to the entrance to Highvale. Emilia diverts Hector away from Highvale, but his determination to figure out what is going on there brings him back to Highvale wherein he is trapped. Once there, Hector cannot access his magic nor can he return to Iron Hall. Thus begins his (and our) introduction to a new, evil being and also an old one who had previously helped the Dragon Kings but is now working against them. (We don't find out why.) It is now up to Emilia to help Hector and she does so by recruiting the assistance of Rhi and Lotti. Even with their help, Hector may end up lost to the Dragon Kings. Emilia is determined to fight for Hector's freedom. How they manage to save Hector and each other is the crux of this novel. Additionally, there is a residue left over from Highvale which is now adversely affecting three other Dragon Kings. We'll have to wait to learn what happens next in the upcoming novel in this complex Dragon Kings series, Dragon Sieged. Dragon Forged can be read as a standalone but is so much better knowing all the backstory of Donna Grant's Dark World.

This is the very first book I have read by Donna Grant and the first book I have read in any of the Dragon King series. So, to put it simply, I went into this book completely blind while only knowing the bits given from the blurb.

This series primarily focuses on dragons turned human shifters with a history and timeline spanning a "millennia" of history including war with both the non-magical and magical species for a variety of reasons. Each "Dragon King" is ordained by old magic to be the "king" of their dragon subspecies (or "clans") but overtime the society they once knew was lost to time. Now they live in two different worlds: The first being the magical world of "Zora" and the other being Earth, specifically Scotland (they all got that Scottish twang). The Dragon Kings also have their own King, Constantine (Con), who was also ordained by ancient dragon magic, to lead them and watch over them.

Dragon Forged is the 10th book in the Dragon King series starring seer Emilia, the war-hardened Dragon King Hector, and the foreboding premonition Emilia envisions that could spell doom for all inhabitants of Zora.

My first thoughts while reading this were that it felt like I had just jumped into an ice-bath with no warning and was clueless as to what was happening. I had so many questions and I quickly started worrying that I may have not had enough context or worldbuilding clues to put the pieces together to sort out the history I did need to know. But, as I read on, I did pick up more contextual clues to sort how everything worked including the information about the Dragon Kings' lore, the local politics, the culture, and the worlds themselves. The map helped tremendously as well and helped put every mentioned location into perspective.

As I began to understand more, I noticed this became more of a political-romance drama than anything else. It also involved both new and returning characters (and being new to the series, I didn't know for a while who was new and who was old). I found myself getting very invested with Emilia's role as well as her ties to he culture and politics of her island home. In fact, I actually ended up enjoying the political games and mystery more than the romance itself (which, to be fair, I felt was a little weak). The tension and the whiplash from the reveals had me on my toes and every time I tried to out-predict the story, I was usually wrong. I love to be so, so wrong when it comes to mysteries!

In fact, if I had any critiques it would be 1) the romance itself 2) a few missed opportunities for humor. For the romance, I would have liked to have seen more yearning, tension, and time spent truly learning the other. I'm a huge fan of that that bone-crushing yearning that has you squealing from the depths of your being. Though there was some yearning, I feel there definitely could have been much more. Let that romance simmer just a little bit longer. Or like the Dragon Kings say, just a wee bit longer. And as for the humor mention, well, it's more of a personal preference. There were a few scenes I know would have been absolutely hilarious if given just a little more of that playfulness and tone. I think it would have made some already great scenes absolutely perfect.

Going back to the topic of the romance, I loved the fact that this book actually had an intricate plot that could easily hold your attention as a reader. I feel like a love story without actual plot will almost always fall flat for me and that definitely was not the case here--the story's plot was weaved in beautifully along with the romance.

Now as far as characters go, I definitely had my favorites. Emilia was definitely very easy to sympathize with knowing her struggles and backstory. A lot of the growth of the story came from her own and it was easy to cheer her on. All of the characters had their own woes and worries, but I think the best characters for me were the side characters. This story would not nearly be as magical without them. Period.

So... with all those thoughts let me wrap this up. Do I think this is a book worth reading? Well, if you love dragon shifters with heavy Scottish accents, fated mates, unique dragon-lore, political drama, and are okay with soaking up the knee-deep lore of the Dragon King universe, this may just be for you. As for me, I think this is just the start of an amazing journey and I have a lot of catching up to do (Coming for you, Con!).

Hector is the Dragon King of the Sea Green dragons. While working at Iron Hall, Hector rolls away a rock and finds a slowly blinking turquoise light. When he touches it, he is transported somewhere else. He was lured there and now he is trapped. Emilia is a seer and has seen the dragon in her vision. If the Dragon Kings come , they will destroy Zora. Because Emilia didn’t tell the higher ups about her vision, she is stripped of her status and put in jail. Hector gets her out and takes her to a cave that is has put a protection spell around. Hector is spelled to be a part of the island. He cannot hurt anyone who lives there. Unless they have hurt someone first. When he is put under a spell, will he be able to fight it and not hurt Emilia? Great story. Mystery. Sort of friends to lovers. Forced proximity. Steamy at the end. Hector is a dragon and doesn’t like downtime. Emilia likes it best being in the background. * VOLUNTARILY READ AND REVIEWED FOR NETGALLEY *

Hector is a Dragon King. Filled with magic and very powerful. In this book he is bound and forced into serving. I loved how Emelia came into her own. Justice takes many forms but it wins out.

This is the first book I’ve read in this series, however I really enjoyed it! There wasn’t like a super ton of world building, however I also haven’t read any of the other books so it’s very possible I missed some of that through the series.

I really enjoyed the style of magic that was laid out in this book with the dragon kings and the others. I’ve read other books where the magic didn’t really make a lot of sense but it felt like it did in this book.

I will say that I’m not a super big fan of books that are written in the 3rd person, I prefer first person view points, but that didn’t change my enjoyment
