The Christmas Ring by Karen Kingsbury. Another story of Family, Friends and most of all Faith. I love the Bible verses that she puts in her stories. This is a snuggle up to a heartwarming sweet quick read. Thank you to #NetGalley and #ThomasNelsonFiction for this Arc. This is my honest review. Releases Oct 21 2025.

I loved this book in every way! 'The Christmas Ring' by Karen Kingsbury is heartwarming, faith-filled and loving. I shed many tears in the ebbs and flows of the story. The book is filled with loss, and how death impacts loved ones as they attempt to move on with their lives. That is not an easy prospect (I come to this from first hand experience as a young widow myself) and is different for everyone. The beauty in seeing the resolutions with Ben and Vanessa is that they are all founded in a deep appreciation for the gifts from God in our lives. I would give this book 10 stars if I could!

Karen Kingsbury and Christmas are a match made in heaven! I enjoyed reading this book and can see myself reading it each Christmas season. I am so excited to see it be made into a movie!

I received a complimentary copy of this book; the opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own. This heartwarming Christmas story revolves around themes of love, loss, and second chances. I particularly enjoyed the delightful blend of holiday spirit, faith, and family history that fills the narrative. It left me with a smile and a few tears in my eyes.

The Christmas Ring is an ideal holiday book to get you into the holiday spirit. It also reminds you that God always has a plan for our lives. It's a heart-warming story about finding love again after the loss of your first one due to death.
This book will make a stand-up Hallmark movie! It allows you to feel every emotion, and you're rejoicing with the ending.
I like how the author had Vanessa experience this journey with her adult child. The author was careful not to diminish her first love's experience. She also paid tribute to the veteran who passed throughout the book.
Overall Thoughts:
You won't regret it if you preorder your copy of The Christmas Ring now. Karen did another outstanding job with this romance. It's a wonderful holiday read.
Disclosure: I did get an advanced reader copy of this book from Thomas Nelson and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are 110% my own.

Grab the Kleenex! This beautiful story of miracles performed by God is my new favorite! The Christmas ring gave her grandfather the hope he needed to make it home on d-day. Vanessa was gifted the ring when she graduated college, unfortunately she loses the ring on a trip with her daughter. Vanessa, a recent widow prays every day that someone will find it and contact her for the reward. Four years later she meets Ben while searching an antique shop for her ring. Ben is a widower and never thought he would love again. Is it too late for a second chance at love? Will her daughter, Sadie be happy for mom or resent Ben?
The characters and plot had me hooked from the start. I can’t wait to see the movie based on the book this fall!

This book follows Vanessa as she searches for a lost family heirloom, heals from the loss of her husband and opens her heart to love again. It is filled with hope, love, forgiveness, and allowing Jesus to heal what this world breaks in our hearts. I loved watching Vanessa navigate finding new love again in a way that beautifully honored the Lord, and I absolutely loved how she walked through it with her adult daughter. The mystery aspect of her lost Christmas Ring kept me in the edge of my seat, and the conclusion to that was so wonderful and satisfying. This book is reminiscent of a cutesy Hallmark Christmas movie and I ate it up in just a few days!

This book was an easy read. I enjoyed it. The characters further climax. I author did a break job bringing everything together at the end.

The Christmas Ring by Karen Kingsbury is a Christmas holiday romance that reads like a Hallmark movie. Vanessa is a military widow who has lost an incredibly special ring which is a family heirloom. Vanessa searches antique stores in hopes that the ring may have ended up in one of them.
While looking for the ring in a particular antique store, she meets a good looking and kind man, Ben. Immediately they find they are drawn to each other, and their connection becomes a romantic attraction. Vanessa recognizes the importance of informing her college-aged daughter, Sadie, about her developing relationship; however, she hesitates due to Sadie's ongoing grief following the loss of her father. The search for the ring goes on, but there is a twist to the story that will both surprise and delight you.
This was delightful heartwarming story that I would recommend for Christmas warmth. This book is due to become a movie and I’m sure it will be as enjoyable as this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction/Thomas Nelson for this lovely ARC.

This beautiful Christmas love story is one of second chances for two people who are brought together by a missing family heirloom called “The Christmas Ring.”
Vanessa is mom whose husband was killed in active duty who many years later finds herself an empty nester when she drops her daughter, Sadie, off at college. Vanessa has never given up looking for that sentimental ring she lost many years ago in mountains of Colorado and frequents thrift stores on the chance it might show up.
Will she find love instead? I loved how the story unfolded. This is another Karen Kingsbury classic we will enjoy for years to come.

The Christmas Ring is a heartwarming, faith-filled Christmas story that beautifully weaves love, loss, and hope. It follows a widow and her young daughter on a ski trip, where a treasured family heirloom — a World War II ring passed down from her great-grandfather — is lost in the snow. Years pass and the daughter is heading off to college. Through prayer, perseverance, and trust in God’s plan, she meets a kind man at an antique store who has also faced deep loss, and their friendship slowly blossoms into love. The book’s central message of keeping the faith through life’s trials is both uplifting and inspiring. I highly recommend this touching read — a perfect 10 out of 10 for its heartfelt story and strong Christian foundation.

This was absolutely not a me all the time book, but I got the arc for Camp Net Galley. Occasionally I like a good Hallmark Movie book. For me this one was just kind of boring and the plot was lacking in interest.
I thought this book did the relationships very well. I liked the juxtaposition of the mother and daughter relationship and their similar romantic relationships. I will still probably watch the movie adaptation because I think I would have rather spent 90 minutes watching this story rather than 2 hours reading it.

I’ve read most of Karen Kingsbury’s books. Like the others, this one is difficult to put down. A contemporary novel with a little mystery and romance keeps you reading. It also points you to God as the author and finisher of your faith. I recommend this book. I was given a complimentary copy of this book and the opinions are my own.

This is such a great read, makes you smile, and when the last page is turned, I wanted more!
This is story of love and loss, from husbands, killed in action, to loosing a spouse. It is also about a heirloom ring, with quite the history behind it.
We visit a lot of antique shops, and find some great treasures, and all the while we are on the lookout for the lost ring.
This is a story that keeps giving, doing so much for our military, and we are there at one of the benefit dances.
This is a really sweet romance, and most of all a great love of God.
I did love that we are gifted with an epilogue.
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.

The newest book from Karen Kingsbury and soon to be movie was an easy read. It read a lot like a Hallmark movie and if you enjoy those like I do, you should enjoy this story. It will likely translate very well to the movie format and will have some great locations.
If you are not a Hallmark fan, you might find this off overly sweet variety as none of the main characters have any major dramas apart from some miscommunication. Christian themes are present throughout the book.
I receive complimentary books from various sources, including NetGalley, authors, and others. I am not required to write a positive review, and I have not received any compensation for my thoughts.

What a heartwarming, sweet Christmas story. I loved Vanessa and Ben's story and the overall message of this book. Perfect for the holidays to curl with a cup of coffee, a cozy blanket and this story.

A military story of loss and moving on. It has been 4 years since she lost her husband. Now her daughter is off to college and the closeness they had is changed by distance. Then she meets a friendly nice guy and begins a remote friendship. A lovely romance story. But the Christmas ring is part of the story. It was a family piece that was lost during a ski trip. The ring is woven throughout the book. Doesn't it sound like a ring we would admire? Can she finally let go of looking for it? The book is a lovely story with a few tears thrown in. I admit it did cause me to tear up. I like the book. It is well worth the time I spent reading.

The Christmas Ring is one of the best books I have read this year! I absolutely loved it. I can relate to so many things going on with the characters in this book. My old soul loves to seek out treasures at estate sales and just imagine the history behind them. I will definitely be recommending this book to others and may even give it as gifts to my reader friends. If my local library does not have it, I will be recommending that they purchase it as well. Finally, we will have a date night out to see the movie!

Vanessa looses her ring... a ring that was everything to her—meant to be passed to her daughter next—and she still prays it’ll find its way back.. fast fwd.. four years later after losing the ring, she swings through Marietta, Georgia.. just on a hunch—and ends up meeting Ben, a widower, at a Christmas in July event. Cue the mutual pining and a very wholesome friendship turned something more...
