This book really resonated with me, it speaks about God’s plans for us and how trusting God can go a long way.

I loved how the author wrote about faith and how the characters had so much faith in God.

Do I recommend yes I do.

There's something so special about reading a holiday book that doesn't rush the story.
This book is about a lost heirloom, loaded with family memories, but what i really enjoyed was the tender relationship between a mother and daughter. Both grieving a loss in different ways, one with the loss of her husband, the other with the loss her father and adjusting to being away from her best friend to starting college. I really appreciated the mother's yearning for something new in the gentlest way. She wanted to be careful with her daughter's emotions.

The emotional pace felt perfect, it was warm, soft, honest, and human. I do recommend listening to Christmas music while you read this. It set the perfect vibe for a holiday read.

Thank you to #netgalley and #thomasnelsonfiction for the opportunity to read this early copy. All thoughts and opinions are completely my own.

What can I say about this book? It's my first book by Karen Kingsbury. Definitely it is Christian literature and can be classed as romantic story. It's different for me then majority so called romances/contemporary fiction we can find in bookshops or libraries where I live. In comparison with them is kinda delicate, almost naive, full of patriotism and strong believe in God. Fast read and easy to follow, but I'm not sure if today's young generation (even 30-40 yo) would fully understand it. Overall nice book.

I really appreciated "The Christmas Ring". It was a realistic love story with faith intertwined. The heartache and conflict were true to life, and it wasn't too cheesy. I really enjoyed reading this title and am excited to watch the movie as well.

Thank you for letting me read an advanced copy. I appreciate it.

Looking for a sweet romance that is warm and cozy for the Christmas season? Look no further than Karen Kingsbury’s latest book. The Christmas Ring is a quick read, and for fans of Karen Kingsbury, they will not be disappointed. The plot is similar to many cozy reads, but around Christmas, you often want something familiar to read by the fire. The characters are believable, but there is not much depth to them. However, this did not deter this reader from rooting for Vanissa and Ben the entire way. The Christmas Ring hits the spot for that quick Christmas read. Recommended for all fans of cozy romances.

Just thinking about The Christmas Ring by Karen Kingsbury being turned into a possible Hallmark movie she makes me happy! What a great read and I'm sure it will be a great movie too! Karen Kingsbury never disappoints me!
As my husband was a paratrooper of the 101st Airborne Division years ago, I sure can relate to Bill Bailey and the whereabouts of The Christmas Ring and having a loved one no longer on this earth especially during the Christmas season. Is it possible to find love again? This book sure delves into question for the main character, Vanessa and her family including Sadie, and the missing special heirloom ring which belonged to Vanessa!
The Christmas Ring sure kept me reading and enjoying all the special memories this book brought home for me. Well worth reading as all of Karen Kingsbury's books are!

Karen Kingsbury’s The Christmas Ring is a heartfelt and deeply moving holiday read that masterfully explores themes of grief, love, and the courage it takes to let go. The story follows Vanessa, a military widow, as she navigates the loss of her beloved husband and faces the questions we all must ask after our lives are forever changed: When is it time to treasure the past, and when is it time to let go and embrace the future?

Kingsbury’s characters are so authentic and well-drawn that their emotions feel genuine and raw. The gentle pacing of the novel provides the perfect backdrop for reflecting on your own experiences with loss and renewal, making it easy to see yourself in Vanessa’s shoes.

This is exactly the type of cozy story you want to curl up with in your favorite chair, a blanket around your shoulders, and a cup of tea or hot chocolate nearby. The combination of a tender romance, a touch of family mystery, and Kingsbury’s signature warmth creates an immersive reading experience that brings both comfort and hope.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance or inspirational fiction, especially those who are looking for a story that doesn’t shy away from real emotions, yet ultimately offers healing and second chances. Let Kingsbury remind you that while grief may linger, love and new beginnings are always within reach. Five stars! Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the free book to review.

This book felt like I wasa reading a Hallmark xmas movie, which is exactly what I was hoping for!
It's very well written, characters are believable, and situations too.
It was a tad too religious for my taste at some points but it- actually makes sense with the characters' lives.
It was a perfect cozy read for xmas time and for any time actually, and I can't wait for the movie adaptation

Karen Kingsbury delivers a heartfelt story with The Christmas Ring, a novella that effortlessly wraps themes of love, legacy, and divine timing into the warmth of the holiday season.

Military widow Vanessa Mayfield's quest to recover a long-lost family heirloom takes her on a journey of faith, remembrance, and unexpected romance. Her encounter with antique dealer Ben Miller sparks a connection that is as tender as it is transformative. With quiet grace, Kingsbury weaves the story of a World War II soldier and a present-day love story into one deeply moving narrative.

The pacing is brisk, the characters relatable, and the emotional beats land beautifully—especially for readers who appreciate faith-forward fiction and redemptive arcs. Kingsbury’s signature style is present throughout, with subtle touches of holiday magic and meaningful reflections that linger long after the final page.

Whether you're curled up by the tree or simply craving a dose of gentle inspiration, The Christmas Ring is a gem that belongs on your festive shelf. Perfect for fans of cozy romance, historical echoes, and stories where faith and love guide the way.

Thank you to Karen Kingsbury, NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

I read this in July (because who says Christmas books are only for December?) and it was such a sweet, heartwarming, Hallmark style read. This was my first Karen Kingsbury book, and I can definitely see why she’s so loved. It had that cozy small town vibe, a strong family element, and a story centered around faith, second chances, and a missing heirloom that brings two people together.

Vanessa and Ben’s story was soft and comforting, with a really nice found family feel. I especially appreciated the focus on military families and sacrifice because it gave the story more emotional depth. There’s a strong Christian element woven throughout (prayer, faith, and hope), which won’t be for everyone, but it was written in a way that felt genuine and fit the story.

The romance itself was sweet, but also very predictable which, honestly, worked for me because sometimes you just want a comforting, feel good holiday romance. My only gripe was that it leaned a little too sweet and neat at times, and I found myself wishing for a bit more emotional complexity. But if you love clean romance with strong family and faith themes, this is a great choice for a cozy Christmas read.

Also, this is going to be a movie soon, and I can totally see it working as a Hallmark style holiday film!

🎄 Read if you love:
✔ Hallmark vibes & small town charm
✔ Clean romance & Christian fiction
✔ Found family & military family representation
✔ Predictable but comforting holiday reads

Thank you to NetGalley, Karen Kingsbury, and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the eARC of this book.

. i was drawn into this story from the beginning. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy reading a Christmas related book in July but I did. I haven’t read Karen Kingsbury in a while. The book is full of lovable characters and relatable moments. Thank you to Net galley for the opportunity to read this fantastic book. Thank you to Thomas Fiction and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a sweet and heartwarming read. If there’s one thing about me, it’s that I’ll happily read a Christmas book any time of the year, hence why I picked this up in July. This was my first book by Karen Kingsbury, and I really enjoyed it. It was easy to get into, had cosy Hallmark vibes, and a lovely found family element.

The story centres around a missing heirloom and two people finding their way to each other, which made for a charming and comforting read.

This is a beautiful Christmas romance story. Karen Kingsbury never disappoints me. It's so exciting that this is going to be a movie as well!!! I can't wait! Even though it was easy to predict what was going to happen it was fun reading the path Karen took to get us there. I enjoyed this book so much that if my to read list wasn't so long I'd turn around and read this all over again right now. Thank you too Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the advanced copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Karen Kingsbury’s dedication to Christian values and usage of Scripture is well done. The Christmas Ring is a sweet romance novel that touches on military-issues of love, duty, and loss. Families caring for one another is core. However, this storyline lacks the typical KK complex plots. A good read, but not as compelling as expected.

This book wasn’t exactly my thing and that’s okay. I don’t usually go for Christmas stories that lean sweet or focus on older characters finding love again, and I’m not the main audience for Christian fiction. But even so, I can say this story knows what it’s doing and who it’s speaking to.
At its heart, this is a book about faith, real lived-in faith. It’s not just mentioned in passing; prayer, trust in God, and finding peace through Him are central. And that kind of focus is rare these days, so I respect it. The story moves gently, with a lot of kindness, small-town charm, and second chances that come quietly rather than dramatically.
It’s also about loss, and how people move through it in different ways. The grief here isn’t loud or messy, but it lingers. There’s something comforting in how the book shows healing through connection, routine, and hope. It’s soft, almost old-fashioned in a way, but that might be exactly what some readers are looking for.
For me, some parts were a little too neat, a little too sweet, but that’s personal taste. This wasn’t written for a reader like me, and I totally get that. It’s a meaningful, warm story that will really land with people who are looking for clean romance and strong spiritual themes, especially during the holidays.

Five 🌲💍 stars for this inspiring holiday romance. It turned out to be the perfect choice for a Christmas in July read.

Here are five reasons why:

💍The ring! See that cover illustration? That is just how I imagined the ring from the description. First discovered on D-Day by one of our finest and passed down through the generations only to be lost on the sledding hill in Breckenridge. Is it really just costume jewelry?

🌲Vanessa was the current owner of of the ring when it went missing. After dropping off her daughter at college four years later, she stops in Marietta, Georgia to see if her ring might be at one of the antique stores there. She meets Ben, a widower, and a friendship begins at a Christmas in July event!

💍The missing ring earns another star for the mystery piece of if/when it will be found. Vanessa is bereft and prays for it to be returned every day. Her daughter Sadie will be next in line to own The Christmas Ring.

🇱🇷 Vanessa and Sadie live in Columbus, GA -- home of Fort Benning and a substantial military population. Karen Kingsbury does a great job highlighting the sacrifices our military families make and the efforts made to support and encourage them.

🎬 While reading I thought about how fun it would be to see this made into a movie. Guess what?! There IS a movie version coming to theaters on Thursday, November 6. Mark your calendars and don't forget your tissues!

A big thank you to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for offering this ARC as a part of Camp NetGalley. As requested, my review is being posted before August 1st.

A delightful mix of drama, angst and Christmas spirit
With similar vibes to O. Henry’s “The Gift of the Magi,” Karen Kingsbury’s “The Christmas Ring” is a perfect read to get into the holiday spirit. Vanessa Mayfield is a military widow; Ben Miller’s wife died when she was in her 30s.
Fair warning: the holiday feels in “The Christmas Ring” require a few tissues for the tear that also flow.
I enjoyed this title and appreciated Kingsbury’s gift in describing Vanessa and her daughter, Sadie, in a way that also let me know Alan, the husband/dad who died too soon. Christianity is front and center in Kingsbury’s titles, and this one is no exception. As a Christian myself, I did not feel that the book was “preachy.” Rather, Vanessa, Ben, Sadie and other characters’ faith is an integral part of their lives. When difficult situations arise, they instinctively turn to prayer.
Knowing that Vanessa and Ben would find their HEA, it was easy to see that the prime conflict would be solved. Still, I was deeply interested in HOW it was solved.
My thanks to Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for an advance reading copy of “The Christmas Ring.” This is my honest opinion.

As a fan of Karen Kingsbury, I was excited to read her new novel, The Christmas Ring. Her heartwarming story with her Christian beliefs, were relevant in this book. Also her reference to the military was uplifting. Vanessa, a wife of a deceased military, decided to form Columbus Cares Military to honor the families of military. The story revolves a heirloom ring that was lost. Vanessa met a widower who she develops a relationship with but has to tell her daughter, Sophie, about him. Does Sophie take the news of someone replacing her father well? Read this novel to find out if the ring resurfaces, and how Sophie feels about a new man in her mom's life. Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this novel prior to its publication.

I chose this book as it was described as a Christmas romance and the the story was indeed a Christmas romance. However, it should also be listed as a Christian Christmas romance. I really enjoyed the characters and the story but it was a little heavy on prayer and scriptures for me. Thanks #CampNetGalley #NetGalley
