I very much enjoyed this book. The writing was great and the characters were well developed. I hope to read more from this author in the future.

You will not know who to trust in this book. Someone is definitely lying. Is it the therapist? The wife? The husband? You will feel a range of emotions reading this book from surprise to anger to astonishment. You will not be disappointed.

Every single character in this book was unreliable and it was AMAZING! Talk about reverse psychology… The plot twists that unfold throughout the book keep you hooked and entertained. A good, fast read that’s well worth your time.

The Therapist tells the story of Lana, who takes a new patient under sketchy circumstances. Sandy is mysterious and Lana feels immediately drawn her. Sandy hints at being a victim of domestive abuse, and brings in her husband for couples therapy one day. Mike is shocked to hear Sandy's allegations and becomes agressive during the session and storms off. She turns down Lana's offer for help finding a safe place, and jokes that if she doesn't show up to the next session, it's because something's happened to her. And then, Sandy doesn't show up to the next session...

That's as much as you can say about The Therapist without spoiling things!!

Nicole Trope is one of my favourite authors of the genre, I knew this book would be good but I wasn't prepared for the amazing rollercoaster that it is!

The first part is from the POV of Lana and Sandy. I loved the juxtaposition of Lana and Sandy. Lana is, per her own words, an introvert with mousy looks. Sandy is beautiful and clearly gets whatever she wants, whenever she wants it but, how she gets it is a completely whole other story! Afterwards, we heard Mike's POV and of course, maybe (a big maybe!) not everything is as it seems!

The ending was absolutely fantastic as well, the twist was great -poor Lana!

This writer always delivers a good twisty psychological thriller where nobody can be trusted! This story was about a therapist who worries when one of her clients, Sandy, goes missing and she suspects the husband but she doesn’t fully trust Sandy. Who is telling the truth? A thrilling quick read, I would certainly recommend.

There are three sides to every story… I love how the book immediately hooks you with a future scene that has you dying to know more details. This book has multiple POVs but not too many that it is too chaotic. Its a great way to keep the reader attentive as we know more information than some characters. But, I was thrown off by two of the POVs being in first person, while the third is written in third person. I am eager to read another Nicole Trope book!

Yessssss!!!!!!!! Imagine going to a therapist. She may or may not know everything. Your pouring your heart out. Only to realize maybe it's not so safe after all? I finished this book In about 3 hours. I really connected with a few characters. I'm not going to leave spoilers. I will say I would definitely buy all the books by this author. Don't even think you know what will happen because it will be the exact opposite.

Loved Nicole Trope’s The Therapist!! It was a multilayered, psychologically intense, character driven thriller. It goes without saying that I am always compelled to Trope’s books because of her writing style. Each of the ones I have read are emotionally charged, psychologically intimate, and sharply paced. The Therapist was no different. This story followed Lana, a therapist, who reluctantly took on a new patient, Sandy, from her colleague Ben. After an initial session with Sandy and her husband Mike, Lana became entangled in a "he said/she said" situation, unsure who to believe. As Lana delved deeper, she questioned reality and fiction. It was a captivating narrative filled with twists and turns. I was thoroughly immersed in this drama therapist patient mayhem. Although this wasn’t a unique trope, I’ve read another book similar to this, the character development and layered suspense made this stand out among other books in the genre. I liked how Trope’s story explored a few of my favorite psychological themes of trust, deception, and the complexities of relationships. Moreover, the multiple points of views in addition to the then and now timelines created a rich and layered narrative that deepened the suspense and character complexity. I also liked how each voice was distinct yet accessible and added depth to the plot twists and character arcs.

Altogether Trope delivered another gripping domestic thriller that skillfully merged suspense with real psychological depth. I love how she taps into my desire for honesty and transformation—and my desire for drama. It’s compelling! If you haven’t read a Nicole Trope novel yet, I highly recommend reading The Therapist. And, for any one who is already a Nicole Trope fan, you will want to add this one to your TBR list now.

As always Nicole Trope always writes a brilliant thriller. This book had me questioning everyone involved, didn’t trust a single reason. Some good twists & turns & overall really enjoyed!

Wow! Nicole Trope takes it to a whole different level! This just might be my favorite book of hers! A rich cast of characters that kept me flipping pages long past my bedtime. Packed with tension and secrets. Lots of red herrings that made it impossible to know who to trust. A real roller coaster ride! Deliciously dark and twisted. I loved it!

The Therapist is good psychological thriller that builds slowly to a climax.

Titular character Lana takes on a new patient, as her office mate Ben claims that she has fallen for him. Lana gets far more than she bargained for with Sandy, who claims her husband is abusing her, but something just doesn't feel quite right. And then Sandy disappears ...

The novel starts slowly as we are introduced to the cast of characters, all of whom have complex family lives. The mix of points of view gives us some insight, but there is always an element of suspicion. Are any of them telling us the full truth? There is at least one unreliable narrator, and possibly several.

There are elements of the plot that seem a little odd, with characters trusting despite reservations, and the police investigations are rather inept. But overall this is a good read and the ending does throw a couple of curve balls.

When you're struggling with certain problems, it can really help to have someone who will listen. Being able to talk about it and maybe see everything from a different perspective can create a kind of “click” in your mind, helping you cope better. And who is best suited for that? Exactly—a therapist.

That's what Sandy decides to do, because her marriage is no longer what it should be. And so, she ends up with Lana...

The book starts with a prologue that immediately grabs your attention and fills your head with questions—you can’t wait to find the answers.

The story is told from three perspectives: Lana, Sandy, and Mike (Sandy’s husband). Both members of the couple tell their side of the story, but I didn’t fully trust either of them. Still, one of them had to be telling the truth—but who? If I had to bet money, I would have gone with Mike… but was I right, or was I being fooled again?

You can feel the twist coming, but if you'd asked me to predict the ending, I would never have guessed it. It was surprising—and at the same time, brilliantly done.

It’s a smoothly written, gripping book that makes you think you know where it’s going… until suddenly it takes another path and you keep reading with your jaw on the floor. For me, it was top-notch. 5 stars.

I love Nicole Trope and I loved this book. This book delivered twists and suspense and is a great, dark psychological thriller. The Therapist definitely took me for a spin!

I found this book a little slow to begin with. I could understand Lana's reluctance to take on Ben's patient, and was pleased that she didn't quite believe Sandy's claims.
The story definitely hotted up later in the book, and I was invested in the lives of the characters.
Twist after twist, and red herrings galore, I raced to the end of the book to see how it all panned out and was not disappointed.
Definitely a 4/5 star book.

The Therapist dives into the mind of Lana as she struggles with who to believe — and then something terrible happens. This book is an absolutely gripping page-turner that I could not put down. Five stars!

Personally I didn’t care for this book. Seemed like one long therapy sessions. Lots of naive people. I find it hard to believe Lana is really that dumb. This was a skimmer for me. Not one of her better books.

A really dark, psychological thriller that will be another bestseller!
