It started out interesting, but then it went a little wonky for me. Mostly because I hate cliffhanger storylines. Though this one held my attention for the most part, I still don't get why this story couldn't have been edited and told in one, or maybe two books.
This girl, Mia, is very young acting. She has temper tantrums whenever someone doesn't act, say, or do what she wants or what she would do. I know this isn't the intention of the author, but that's how I see it. She gets so mad at them, but she a runner. Runs from everything that doesn't go her way. Annoying...
Mia complains that everyone wants to control her, especially Adam. But she only views things from her perspective, and can't see things from his. Not that he's perfect, but he's told her a little of his past and yet she jumps all over him when he tries to control his world. And if she would just think about things from another persons POV, she would see that he grew up with a terrible childhood and this could be how he's dealt with it. This could be why he is who he is.
I'm also confused about the reason for Adam being in foster care when he had an Uncle and cousins that he seems to love. Unless they were his foster family. This wasn't clear, so it's very confusing to me.
These are the reason for the lower rating. But I didn't give it 1 or 2 stars because it did keep my attention.
