The Little Book of HSP Wisdom by Barbara Allen-Williams.
The book starts out with a brief summary introduction to what it's like to be a highly sensitive person (HSP), continuing with 34 mini chapters/sections covering different aspects e.g sleeping, excersise, nutrition, joy, work, etc.
It's a nice book to dip in and out of, reading it in one go I found it a bit repetitive at times. It only briefly touches on some things that could do with further explaining for someone new to recognising themself as being HSP. Almost every mini chapter section says advise to see a counsellor/therapist to talk through these things. But this isn't always an option (especially an affordable option for many people). So I would say this book is better suited to someone who isn't new to the idea of HSP and who is perhaps fortunate enough to have explored these things with a professional previously or currently. There were some nice reminders about thinking about your "plan", who you choose to have around you, and how this impacts your well-being. There is a good reference section at the end of other works and I've added the ones I hadn't heard of to my to-read list for future reading.
Thanks to the author, NetGalley and publishers for the chance to read this in an exchange for an honest review.

The Little Book of HSP Wisdom is a soothing quick reference book for anyone who is HSP (a highly sensitive person) like myself.
The book gives information at the start about HSP and what being HSP is, then moves forward to offer words of wisdom for tricky and draining times such as when you're going through struggles and need some wisdom from someone who understands what you feel and how being HSP affects you.
The book focuses on the most common types of areas HSP struggles with, such as growth, development, and challenges, and helps you feel seen, understood, and calmer.
This is a great book to pick up as and when you need it and isn't a book you would sit down and read cover to cover and would make a great gift for yourself or a loved one who is HSP.

The Little Book of HSP Wisdom : A quick reference guide to life for highly sensitive people. This is a short self help book for the highly sensitive person. It provides lots of basic information and reassurance and is good for dipping into when a bit of support or advice is needed. It is easy to read and covers many different areas . It is probably more of a starter guide and you will need to explore further for more in depth information.

This book is aimed at anyone who is highly sensitive and is looking for a quick reference guide to support them in their lives.

The book starts by presenting some facts about high sensitivity (also known as sensory processing sensitivity), a concept first studied by Elaine Aron in the late 1990s. It then moves onto advice on specific topics, the main theme of which involves embracing one's HSP personality. Each chapter is very short (some are only a single paragraph) and can be read as a brief essay on a given topic, such as letting go of deeply held false belief, creating or choosing healthy work environments, and using exercice constructively. At the end, the book presents some resources that HSPs can use.

This isn't really a book to sit down and read in one go, but more something to dip in and out of. I can see it being helpful to build up confidence and resilience on a regular basis. I would recommend those interested in the topic to start with Elaine Aron's book, but this is a great resource for people who have already identified themselves (or their loved ones) as being HSP.

A recommend read for people looking for supportive advice for HSPs.

Thank you to NetGalley and Troubador for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
