Description
The Little Book of HSP Wisdom is a thoughtful book to reach for when needing a few words of wisdom about struggles, values, habits and perspectives on life as an HSP.
This book addresses in a simple and straight- forward way, common areas of challenge, growth and development most highly sensitive people encounter. Reading this book will feel like hearing some very kind but no-nonsense advice from someone who knows and understands you as a sensitive person.
Barbara Allen-Williams has been working consciously in the field of high sensitivity for over 25 years. This experience makes her guidance accessible and concise enough to use as an inspiring quick reference for everyday developmental challenges - an ‘HSP Wisdom 101’. She has a particular skill for describing and simplifying deep and sometimes complex issues faced by highly sensitive people. Barbara provides a bigger picture perspective, so that ways forward seem clearer, more inspiring and less confusing.

This book is aimed at anyone who is highly sensitive and is looking for a quick reference guide to support them in their lives.
The book starts by presenting some facts about high sensitivity (also known as sensory processing sensitivity), a concept first studied by Elaine Aron in the late 1990s. It then moves onto advice on specific topics, the main theme of which involves embracing one's HSP personality. Each chapter is very short (some are only a single paragraph) and can be read as a brief essay on a given topic, such as letting go of deeply held false belief, creating or choosing healthy work environments, and using exercice constructively. At the end, the book presents some resources that HSPs can use.
This isn't really a book to sit down and read in one go, but more something to dip in and out of. I can see it being helpful to build up confidence and resilience on a regular basis. I would recommend those interested in the topic to start with Elaine Aron's book, but this is a great resource for people who have already identified themselves (or their loved ones) as being HSP.
A recommend read for people looking for supportive advice for HSPs.
Thank you to NetGalley and Troubador for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Little Book of HSP Wisdom : A quick reference guide to life for highly sensitive people. This is a short self help book for the highly sensitive person. It provides lots of basic information and reassurance and is good for dipping into when a bit of support or advice is needed. It is easy to read and covers many different areas . It is probably more of a starter guide and you will need to explore further for more in depth information.
