A really fun take on an erotic novel. The concept is delightful. A fun read for fans of erotic fiction.

This book was tough for me to follow and I kept referring to the description to figure out what was happening. I think that it was spicy and fun but disjointed and tough to follow. I never got too attached to any of the characters and was left feeling confused at the end.

3.5 stars.

Going into this book, I had NO idea what I was in for and now, two days later I'm still asking myself 'WTF was that?'

The tag line for this book - "A laugh-out-loud, unhinged, spicy erotic novella and romantic comedy with heart—and one dirty-mouthed alpha" is on point. This book is definitely unhinged! Half the time I had no idea what was going on, but I just couldn't put it down. The spice scenes are downright filthy, and the mouth on 'Parcel Guy' was delicious! The banter between Roxie and Rhys (Parcel Guy) was top notch.

While I struggled to differentiate between Roxie & Rhys' story and Roxie's actual novel in progress, the story does come together at the end with a beautiful big HEA bow :)

Absolutely Loved It!
If you need a fun but HOT story this is it. Get ready for a story on top of a story. And you will want them both. Timber Vale is a new author to me and she knows how keep you hooked!! This romance was funny, exciting, spicy & definitely erotic. I fell in love with both Roxie and Rhys characters. The story within a story was great. Both characters were so fun. The conversation and wit made it even better. This isn’t for the timid, this is an all-out experience that will grab you and not let go!
This was the break I needed from life. You are going to love it.
Get ready for this adventure, and enjoy.

My first arc review! Let's gooo!!!

Roxie Lemont FMC 42yr: Indie romance author. Sunkissed. Slightly unhinged. Loves to surf.

Rhys MMC 35yr: Parcel guy. Was in coast guard. Builds furniture. Wants to make a community space for vets. Fmc's muse.

This is hilarious 😂 I love the way it's written.

FMC is hooking up with her parcel guy.

The comparison and metaphors cracked me up, but I feel like a few jokes kept getting overused (ex. IKEA, OSHA, etc.). The jokes became a lot, all of them were funny but it was A LOT the first 25% of the book.

The writing portions of the FMC writing her book were funny, but overtime I did speed read through those parts. I was more interested in reading about Rhys and Roxie which later you are rewarded 🤗

Author's writing style reminds me a lot of Lauren Rowe, however, I prefer Timber's sense of humor. Timber is able to make you laugh while not experiencing secondhand embarrassment for a character which I appreciate.

"Manic pixie midnight moment" 🤣

Forget wordsmith, Timber is a word wizard 🪄

I loved the caretaking in this 💕

This book was all smut, but it also has a plot!

It's HFN ending, but it was still sweet.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️⭐⭐⭐⭐

Roxie writes er0tic romance novels. Rhys is an ex military man with a mouth made for sin. Together they will recreate love scenes from her book to get her creative juices flowing. This is an absolutely smoking hot novella that is written by a woman, definitely with women readers in mind. This was such a great story with playful smexy banter and really hot spice. I will definitely look for more from this author.

Short, spicy, and absolutely hilarious. It's Tristram Shandy of erotic romance, complete chaos, and I was there for every minute of it. The book bursts with erotic joy and the metaphors are really original and ROTFL funny. The gist of the plot: Romance author gets inspired by real-life Package Guy and starts penning supernatural Viking smut, which reanimates her career. But there's more to the couple than acting out unhinged sex choreography, and the way they fall in love is surprisingly sweet amid all the hanging from chandeliers and endless oral. Very fun and very funny, swoony and delicious.

Timber Vale promised me a filthy erotica story with a side of romance. The story absolutely delivered, it was quick, dirty, and fun to read. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for granting me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'll be honest - right from the jump, the dedication did not inspire much confidence in the quality of this book. Millennial to Millennial, there's only so much cheugy behavior I can withstand from a peer.

But for the most part, this was a tolerable - and even occasionally enjoyable - level of cringe. I love the idea of an erotica protagonist in her 40s, and as far as protags go, she's not the worst. The writing itself gave the impression that the author comes from a long line of stand-up comedians and is the first of her line to break out of comedy and into erotica. I'm a big fan of (good) erotic comedy, but where this fell on the spectrum kept me wondering whether "Write Me Filthy" is actually a parody poking some good-natured fun at erotica enjoyers.

The premise and setup was smooth and funny, and I thought the pacing was perfect for erotica.

All in all, I did wind up skimming a bit, even though it's quite short, because... well, to be honest with you, I lose interest in porn when I'm reminded that a dog is present, and it happened often enough to just kind of put me off the whole thing.

Below are a handful of notes I made in real time during the reading process, and will contain spoilers.

❤️‍🔥I'm suspending my disbelief that a legal assistant would give someone the gift option of a fine china pattern called "Cottagecore Smut". Mostly because the only people who'd make something like that are the master craftsmen who refurbish antiques into weed paraphernalia.
❤️‍🔥I don't love how many of this woman's family members read her porn. Both your aunt AND your mother? And your aunt TOLD YOU that she spontaneously orgasmed from a chapter in your book?? This is white culture.
❤️‍🔥A wise reviewer on another book once said that TikTok and, more specifically BookTok, should never be mentioned in a book. I am inclined to agree after reading this.
❤️‍🔥I'm sure I'll be in the minority here, but I think vibrators are mentioned way, way too often. I know it's supposed to be cheeky, but I'm getting vibrator-fatigue in the least fun way possible.
❤️‍🔥The dog is mentioned far too often for my tastes. Like, to the point where it's off-putting. There's precious little I'm interested in less than being reminded that there is a dog in the vicinity when I'm reading porn. For example:

["You came hard."
"Hard enough to scare Poppy. Twice."]

[his jeans hit the floor, his cock hit my mouth, and Poppy hit us with the judgemental side-eye reserved for failed reality TV contestants.]

[Rhys choked on a laugh. And fucked me harder. In the background, Poppy padded in, paused, and immediately turned around like she'd walked into the wrong Zoom meeting.]

For people who want a more mature, but still fun, self-indulgent little erotica and you're not bothered by the above, then this may be the one for you! Without the constant dog mentions, I'd bump this up to four stars for enjoyment alone. So it goes.

If you want madcap and frenetic in your literary choice then this book fits the bill. It is hot and steamy from start to finish as Roxie and Rhys act out the book scenes Roxie is writing, as well as lots of excerpts from her erotica within the book. Very meta. Rhys is fabulous, hot and caring, sexy and loving and Roxie is all over the place in a blunt good way. There is no plot till the last few chapters, and that goes a long way to making the book flow, rather than a series of great sex scenes all strung together. The erotica that Roxie is writing is vampires and vikings and not everyone’s cup of tea however much is saved by the appearance of a naked Rhys,

For all fans of spicy, very spicy, romance - buckle up! A very funny parody of multiple romance tropes as a romance author finds new inspiration that grows out of control. A fun, spicy, and fast read.

put aside your pearls and just laugh. because if i did anything i did that with this book. unhinged yes. doesn't know how to behave yes. but somehow still kept me smiling.
books like this only work if there isn't definitely toxic inference and imbalance(which sadly some writers do simply to be toxic sexist misog pigs-there i said it).
and this one didn't ever seem to be red flagging with that.
it was full of humour, wit and cleverly written.
i liked how it described our characters. Roxy was brill. Rhys was brill. thy were brill for each other. and sparks flew, ignited and set on fire
added to that we get the madness that is the book inside this book of Roxy's!
these two though, underneath it all and only because of that does this work. and that is their connection, their respect, their care for each other.. i was so taken by these two and their bond. i need to know how they would progress. i needed to know that after swinging from chandelier and role playing they might stay together forever happy ever after.please!?
this is a crazy fun ride. we are on it all the way. and then it evolves into one with so much heart you cant help but fall for it.
this is such a creation of uniqueness this book. i loved it.
i loved that this was indeed a love story.

I really wanted to read this, but unfortunately the formatting is awful. A couple of small black pages with white writing, then large white pages with black writing, and back again. it just ruined the flow of the story and I couldn't finish it.

It's exactly what the title says. She's erotic author and he's is dirty-mouthed alpha. He gives her inspiration and acts out her books...

Love Roxie and Rhys together. Lots of steam, chemistry and explosion. An adult novel with romance.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

One thing this title got right about the book is the "unhinged" part. And te laugh-out-loud, and everything!

This book was a rollercoaster, super fast paced that it was hard to slow down to catch the intimate moments. What started as a crazy funny story evolved nicely into a heart story.

The first part felt like broken glass, when the tension started to rise: boom, a funny joke broke everything. The funny factor is incredible here, the author is such a creative mind, there are so many comparisons & metaphors so surprisingly funny. At times it felt like a dis to the whole erotic romance genre, other times it felt like a collection of short paragraphs you write just for fun. But in the end it all turns into a love story that is the backbone of the book and that was still emotional and lovely, despite the whole unhinge-ness. It, also, helps that it's so well written, the small moments, the scenery, the surfing.. artistry!

This is a very particular book, with a voice of its own, a very unique piece. I'm grateful to have received it in order to share my view on it.

This is a smutty palate cleanser for in between deeper books. Tons of filthy sex as the
title implies and some very funny lines.

This was a sort of silly, high spice, completely unhinged little romp and I was here for it! Was it serious? Absolutely not. But was it really fun and the perfect palate cleanser after a heavy book? 100%.
