This was a cute seasonal romance. I loved that it took place over the Christmas holidays and got all the cozy feels from it. I absolutely loved the amnesia story line with a twist. The FMC was the perfect blend of vulnerable and strong. The MMC was the perfect gentleman. The audio really drew me into the story and kept me entertained. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a romance with some magical realism and cozy vibes plus antics. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the chance to listen to this early.

I haven't read the other books in this series but I was left with enough of a positive impression that I will read the other two when I need a witch romcom. I liked the chemistry between the main characters and felt like it was a pretty good second chance romance.

Loved this read, picked it up not realizing it was part of a series, but it didnt feel like I was missing anything! I cant wait to go back and read the others.

I had so much fun reading this witchy romcom! I’m usually not into second-chance romances, but I loved the FMC and MMC back-and-forth banter and their workplace rivalry. Additionally, I was unaware that this was the last book in an interconnected witchy romance series; I will certainly be reading the two books that came before it.

Such a cozy Christmas read with witches and warlocks. If you enjoy second chance romances you should definitely add this to your Christmas TBR! The audiobook was great!

For eight years, Tia has refused to speak Henry Pearlmatter’s name unless it has been to curse it. Now, with their family businesses merged, she and her insufferable ex must pretend to be together to secure a wealthy warlock’s investment. Even worse is that Tia might have had a small potion mishap…and accidentally erased Henry’s memories of her.
This did fall a bit short for me. It is my first fall read of 2025 and this sort of hurt my feelings 😜🧙. I wanted a bit more. This story just seems a bit spastic, especially Tia. One minute she is insecure. The next she is a bada$$, take no prisoner kind of witch. And I just did not like the way she treated most of the people around her, most notably Henry.
That being said, I did like the little bit of Christmas sprinkled in through out this read. Christmas books are just around the corner so this just added a bit to the story.
This is narrated by Natalie Duke. I enjoyed her voices for everyone.

I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

If you’re looking for a steamy witchy holiday read, this one will be perfect.
Tia is forced into a Holiday trip with her ex to secure a business deal for their families. When there’s a potion mishap, her ex Henry loses his memories of their previous relationship and they’re forced to fake date their way through the holiday house party activities.

Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC of Season of the Witch.
The third book in her Toil & Trouble series (although I got into this series with book three it can easily be a standalone)
This one had all the ingredients I enjoy in a magical romance—snarky banter, old wounds, a snowy English estate, and plenty of tension that builds into something warmer. Tia and Henry’s past gave their chemistry a real edge, and the fake-dating setup (plus a little magical amnesia) made for some very funny, very tender moments. I liked how the story balanced humor with the harder parts of learning to forgive and maybe even trust again. And I honestly had a few laugh out loud moments !!
It’s a cozy, witchy holiday read that kept me smiling and rooting for these two right up to the end. ★★★★☆ Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️

This book was so fun, interesting, romantic, all the things. The characters were so perfect for each other and their journey was fun, their arguments were executed wonderfully, and the spice was spicing. Their reunion was epic and very 10 things I hate about you Heath Ledger humbling himself. If you love magic, mischief, and love this book is perfect for you.
The narrators were everything, their characters felt real and were cast perfectly.

Thank you Netgalley & Harlequin Audio for this ALC!
Fake Dating. Slow Burn. Rekindling. One Bed. THE TENSION 🥵
It was perfection listening to Tia Hightower and Henry Pearlmatter.
From not talking in 8 years to now having to fake date for investment in their two companies that are merging. The story was amazing. I loved it all and now need to go back and listen to book 1 & 2.

3 Stars Season of the Witch is the third and final book in Sophie H. Morgan's Toil and Trouble series and is a second chance, fake dating, witchy romance.
I really enjoyed the first two books of this series, but Season of the Witch was my least favorite of the series, mostly because the main characters aggravated me. I get why the two characters did what they did throughout the book, but I was annoyed that it went on so long. Tia and Henry are both stubborn and Tia especially won't let go of her grudge against Henry. The book could've been much shorter with a lot less of this lack of communication between the two. Plus, the story was just a bit lackluster compared to the first two books and I couldn't really get into it.
Despite the book being dual third person POV, there was only one narrator. While she did a good job with all of the voices, it would've been much more interesting as the listener to have two narrators for Tia and Henry, and have them do other voices as well.
Thanks Harlequin for the ALC! Season of the Witch releases September 2nd.

Holiday magic, fake dating, and a second chance romance? Yes please. Season of the Witch delivers a slow-burn love story wrapped in festive charm and witchy warmth. Tia and Henry’s journey is full of growth, banter, and emotions. Both leads mature beautifully, navigating parental expectations and personal regrets with heart.
The single narrator brings their dynamic to life, and the side characters add just the right amount of sparkle and support. As the third book in the series, it builds on familiar threads while offering a satisfying standalone story.
If you love romance with a touch of magic, great dialogue, and characters who earn their happily ever after, this one’s a cozy seasonal treat.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the ALC.

⚠️TW: toxic/overbearing parents
🗣️Narrator: Natalie Duke voices all the characters with standouts from Tia, Henry, Lord Siddeley, and Gloria. The reading style brought the text to life, and the author and narrator worked together perfectly. The pacing and flow allowed me to get lost in the story. The narrator paused and announced new chapters and there was a table of contents which helped me follow along.
Summary: Tia and Henry dated 8 years ago and are currently working together at their families merged potion company- PH Inc. Their potion and research company wants a European client-Lord Archibald Siddeley. Henry and Tia each create a Dionysus potion, and whoever makes the best one will pitch their investment plan to Siddeley. This was a solid palate cleanser. Fluffy and fun, but I’ll probably forget the plot in a month. Audiobook narrator was engaging.

Season of the witch is book three in the Toil and Trouble series, and can be read as a standalone. I really wanted to love this story, but the main female lead Tia just really got on my last nerves, annoyed and irritated my soul. She never could see her faults until the last 93% of the story, and by that time if I was Henry I wouldn't want her back. She was just too childish for me, and really messed up the story for me. Now when Henry didn't have his memories, the Tia we met was a little bit more enjoyable, but barely!
The audiobook is narrated by Natalie Duke; she did a good job. Easy to listen to and also understand. Listened at 2x speed.

Thank you, NetGalley, and Harlequin Audio for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

While I love a duet narration I never have issue with this narrators voices. A southern drawl is difficult but the audio was very enjoyable.
I love this series and world. I was afraid this was the last one in the series but there is a set up for at least two more books in this story so fingers crossed we get more!
I was really looking forward to Tia’s story. I love that she is prickly and always wants her way and she’s not afraid to hex a bitch. I liked Henry, he grew on me, I do think he’s at fault for the breakup in the first place but glad Tia and him got their HEA. The book tossed in a jumble of tropes that I wasn’t sure if they would work together but they did! Great read for end of Halloween season to get you pumped for Christmas.

The publisher's blurb of this book sounded really cute to me. A Christmasy paranormal romance? Yes, please! Sadly, it just wasn't my cup of potion. Your mileage may vary, so read on.
I haven't read the first two books in the series, but I was assured by other early readers in one of my bookish social groups that I didn't need to in order to follow and enjoy the story. It reads like a standalone, even though I know supporting characters in this book are main characters in the other books.
The book didn't live up to my expectations because it is so very full of explicit sex and profanity that there's really nothing interesting going on—there's essentially no story to hold it together. I prefer closed-door sex in books because I'm most interested in character development and story advancement, not other people's personal sex lives. I'm not throwing shade on “spicy” romance lovers—it's just not my preference. If I had known this was that, I would have passed it by. [The book listing on two platforms didn't mention it when I was doing my pre-request light research.] Profanity itself isn't generally a problem for me, but I save it for severe situations, not for liberal all-occasion use, when it ceases to have any impact.
pro: occasional snarky humor; partially set in Chicago
con: too long; bad open-door sex to plot ratio; too many unappealing characters; excessive profanity
The audiobook is narrated by Natalie Duke.
2.5⭐

Thank you so much @sophiehmorgan @netgalley @harlequinbooks for this ARC!! Release date September 2, 2025🍂🧙♀️ Book 3 in the Toil & Trouble series. Witchy romance, slow burn chemistry, fake dating, enemies to lovers & magic! Loveeee

Fake dating your ex... what could possibly go wrong?
Season of the Witch by Sophie H. Morgan is everything I want in a paranormal rom-com: magic, mayhem, and a sizzling second-chance romance wrapped up in a delightfully chaotic fake dating setup. Let me preface this by saying that I have not read book 1 and 2 of Toil & Trouble series. I wish I had because at times I did feel a tad "lost" but I caught on very quickly.
Tia is a fierce, fabulous witch who has zero intention of getting tangled up with her ex again—until a magical situation influences her to fake a another relationship with him. Cue the bad B banter, unresolved feelings, magical mishaps, and some seriously delicious & ZESTY tension. Their dynamic is equal parts messy and magnetic, and watching them work through this all is blissfully fun. .
Morgan nails the balance between humor and heart, giving us laugh-out-loud moments alongside genuine emotional depth. Tia is strong and unapologetically herself, and her journey is empowering and fun to follow. And her ex? Well, that is for you to find out. What are you waiting for?
As far as ear magic? The audiobook version is downright glorious! Natalie Duke is easy on the ears and uses he skills, bringing to life our characters. Duke has pep in her step and knows how to turn off and on the charm needed for this romance. It is a wonderful listen, whether alone or in addition to the physical copy.
Sophie H. Morgan has brewed up a witty, wickedly fun romance that left me smiling long after the last page. Natalie Duke proved she can read just about anything and change its trajectory. Morgan and Duke have both found a new fan in both the writing and narration dept.. I received this as an advanced reader copy (and advance listener copy) from NetGalley and have voluntarily left my honest review.

This book has the perfect vibes for that feeling between Halloween and Christmas! Fake dating, Christmas magic, witchy vibes, it all came together so so well
