***A Spellbinding Holiday Romance That Has It All—Even in August!***
Usually, holiday romances aren’t my go-to reads in the middle of summer, but Season of the Witch completely changed that for me. Despite reading it in August, this book delivered everything I wanted from a festive witch romance—and then some. The only downside? I didn’t realize it was the third book in the Toil and Trouble series, so now I’m scrambling to catch up on the first two because I’m hooked and need more, ASAP!
Meet Tia Hightower, the determined heiress of the Hightower company. Her biggest challenge? Her ex-boyfriend-turned-rival, Henry Pearlmatter, who’s now not only working alongside her but also competing fiercely for the CEO spot after their families merged their businesses. Their rivalry is intense, and when they face off in a potion-making competition, Tia slyly tweaks her potion—only to cause Henry to lose all memories related to her.
Cue chaos.
The situation becomes even more complicated when they’re caught in a compromising position in front of a potential new investor. To save face—and the company—they must spend the holidays pretending to be the perfect couple at the investor’s London estate. But with Henry’s memory wiped clean and eight years of history—including a messy breakup—between them, things get complicated fast. How can Henry hate Tia when he doesn’t even remember their past? And can Tia trust this new version of Henry who feels like a stranger yet so familiar? Most importantly, what happens if he regains his memories—and the pain they carry? This book had me completely under its spell. The tension? Electric. The spice? Sizzling. The banter? Sharp and addictive. Beyond the steamy romance, there are genuinely heartwarming moments—like a playful snowball fight—that brought tears to my eyes. The family dynamics and emotional depth made this more than just a holiday romance; it felt real and relatable in a way I didn’t expect from this genre.
If you’re looking for a perfect holiday read packed with magic, romance, and heartfelt moments, Season of the Witch is it. And if you haven’t yet discovered Sophie H. Morgan’s work, now’s the perfect time to dive into the Toil and Trouble series—starting from book one!

This book was really fun because there are so many fall based witchy rom coms, but with this story we got to see a witchy romcom with a wintery/Christmas back drop. This was such a fun take on the amnesia/forced fake dating premise. It did not take long for me to be invested in Henry and Tia's relationship.
...and I just realized this is a book 3 so I will immediately be adding books 1 & 2 to my TBR!

I absolutely loved this one. Kicking myself for not reading books 1 and 2 prior but will be checking those out. The perfect read if you're into Witches/Warlocks, Second Chance Romance, Fake Dating, and a little banter & spice! Tia and Henry's history makes for a fun twist with this enemies to lovers romcom. Loved mixing witches and the holidays. Will be reading more from this author ASAP.

Did I drink a love this book potion? I must have because I finished #seasonofthewitch and immediately texted my book friends to tell them it was a must read/listen this season. #sophiehmorgan nailed it with this book!

This audiobook had such a fun mix of witchy vibes, romance, and humor that kept me hooked the whole way through. The main character was sassy and relatable, and I really enjoyed the magical worldbuilding sprinkled throughout. The narration brought a lot of personality to the story and made it easy to sink into. Some parts leaned a little heavy on the banter, which slowed the pacing, but overall it added to the charm. If you’re in the mood for a cozy, magical romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously, this is a great listen.

Season of the Witch is a cute romance with a side of spell craft and sass, and it lands the charm without tipping into saccharine or silly. It leans into a sparkling mix of tropes—enemies to lovers, second chance romance, forced proximity, fake dating—yet it never feels gimmicky, thanks to witty banter and magic that actually behaves like magic. Tia, a high society witch, is juggling parental expectations when a family merger forces her to team up with her ex Henry; a party misstep, memory loss, and a scheming investor set up a month at a posh English estate that compels them to share a room and a fate they’re not sure how to fake anymore. Henry may not remember Tia, but he’s determined to rediscover what went wrong, while she fights to keep her walls from crumbling in the face of real, present danger and a future they’re both starting to want. A sweet romantic comedy with a magical twist that feels fresh and human. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the arc. #Seasonofthewitch #NetGalley #arcreview

I LOVED THIS FREAKING BOOK! The lovers to enemies then back to lovers….. YES PLEASE! The book was full of amazing banter, drama, CHRISTMAS, it was perfect. I enjoyed the story line and thought the author did an amazing job with character development and giving us the right amount of insights from both Tia and Henry. I enjoyed the magic elements in the book as well. I honestly didn’t expect to like this as much as I did. This was easily a 5 star for me. I didn’t realize this was book 3 of a series but it’s fine as a standalone. This is a perfect holiday book and I’m so thankful I got a chance to read it.

This was a super enjoyable read. Had me kicking my feet/gasping/covering my face with all the feels. The characters are loveable. I actually didn't realize it was the last book in a trilogy when I listened to it, but it was written in a way where the characters were 3 dimensional and I was hoping there were more books so I could see more of the characters (they're all interesting and loveable).
More detailed review to follow

The Season of The Witch, was the story I had been waiting for, they have been building up the history with Tia and Henry through the rest of the series and I was excited to see their story come to life. This book is based around the holidays and these enemies get thrown together with my favorite tropes of forced proximity, one bed, fake dating, all wrapped in a picturesque christmasy town. And even throws in some amnesia!
I thought that both of the main characters stories were well told, and you really get invested in their families stories.
The only part that I didn't enjoy was the ending, yes we get our HAE, but the entire ending was so cringe and just didn't feel like the characters at all, it just felt to over the top.
This book can be read as a standalone, and while it's based at Christmas, can be enjoyed anytime of year! And the narrator for the audio book was great!
Thank you Netgalley and Sophie H. Morgan for the Audio ARC. My thoughts and review are my own and have not been biased by the fact.

Second chance romance, temporary amnesia, and witchy business competition wrapped into a sweet holiday story. I loved Tia in the first two books for her fierce loyalty and all the hilarious sassy comments she makes. She can be a bit prickly so I loved that you see a softer side to her in this but that you also gain so much more of an understanding as to why she is the way she is.
The narrator did amazing bringing both Tia and Henry to life. She had her work cut out for her with all the additional characters and their attitudes but I always knew who everyone was and enjoyed the accents and humor. She pulled it all together perfectly!
Henry wasnt a huge role in the other books other than being Tia's ex and Gabriel's best friend. It was nice to add another character to the group and to see his back story. I loved that his amnesia is caused from his and Tia's competitive sides. The grand gesture at the end also being part of one of the bets they make was also perfect 👌
Emmma's mother in book 1 was so truly evil and it worked great for that story so I am glad the parents in this had a separate story of their own that (mostly) made their actions and words make more sense.
The twist was unexpected and held some shock factor that is hard to come by in a romcom. I appreciated how well done that is.
Final notes- ive been waiting for Cole's book and I really really hope there were little hunts in here about his turn being next 😊

Season of the Witch

I received an ARC of this audiobook through Netgalley.
This audiobook was a fantastic cozy winter, cozy Christmas romance!
It’s got friends, romance, second chances, a monthlong Christmas vacation, an adorable dog and a prissy cat, and a couple that you can’t help but root for.
I definitely recommend it for romance & witch romance audiences and those who love Cozy winter romances.
This was my first book in the series, but there are 2 others.

3.75/5
Took a bit to get into but I blame that fully on being distracted while listening to this audiobook. But once it got me, I was sucked in. I also didn't realize this was book 3 in a series, and while I don't think that withheld any information I would read those first.
Tia is hot headed and the first to end something if she thinks it will hurt her. So when she walked away the first time from Henry, she didn't realize her mistakes either. So after 8 years and a wrong position they are forced back into each others lives to win over an investor for their companies business.

I received an advance review copy audio version. Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio, for the opportunity to listen to this book. Natalie Duke did an amazing job narrating this audiobook

This is a very endearing enemies to lovers-second chance-witchy romance. It perfectly balances a cozy vibe with witty banter, and good spice. Wonderful for the holiday months!
Thank you to NetGalley for sharing this audiobook ARC!

ARC Book Review!
Season of the Witch by Sophie H Morgan

3 / 5 🔥
As always, Sophie Morgan delivered with this Christmas setting ex’s to lovers book. It’s the third in the series. I adore the consistency of her writing and how each character is so themselves. There’s no copy and paste in this series when it comes to characters. I was lucky enough to receive both an ARC and an ALC from @netgalley. I switched between both to try and give this book the most well rounded review I could
Here are some notes I made while reading :
* oh god, what a mess haha
* Tia’s a freaking spitfire
* Demanding , yessss
* love the narrator! She did such a great job
* Ugh! This series!! 🔥

This was a cute story that gave me the Christmas feels~ I know, it's only August... But there is no harm being in the spirit!
I liked the characters, but there were times when Tia was frustrating! Just wanted to knock some sense into her. I was able to tell that there were communication problems between our two main characters. With that being said, I'm not really into 2nd chance tropes, but this one did not disappoint.
Some tropes in this book: 2nd chance, fake dating, enemies to lovers.
Tia has the BEST friends. They are there every step of the way supporting her and even calling her out when she needs it. Everyone needs friends like that. Seeing their friendship just made me happy.
Okay, this book is 🌶🌶🌶. Didn't expect it in some scenes and threw me off. Also, felt like the steamy scenes were longer than it had to be.
What I liked:
- Enemies to lovers trope
- Fake dating
- all the small Christmas details scattered throughout
- Tia's friendship
What I didn't like:
- Some scenes were very frustrating & dragged on
- the lack of communication between our 2 main characters
- steamy scenes were a tad longer than it had to be
🎧Audiobook: I enjoyed the audiobook. The narrator did great but there were some parts, I felt a little bored.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Tia and Henry have to fake date. Wouldn’t be so bad if he had his memory and knew they had dated in the past, in fact they were each other’s first love.
When they make a bet that goes wrong and leaves Henry with no memory of anything to do with Tia, they find themselves in a situation that the only way they can both get what they want is to pretend like that are in love.
They both start to fall for each other, while Henry’s memory starts to come back and Tia prefers it gone, they end up in some serious LOL situations.
In a world of witch craft, spells, rivalry and mishaps this was a funny, sassy story.

This was fun! I’m not usually an amnesia romance girlie but this was cute, sexy and overall fun. There’s a lot of banter, and there’s enough time since they were last together for some growing up to have happened. The premise is a bit silly; but it was a Christmas in July romp that was easy to listen to and digest. Love the friendships and the growth Tia especially goes through. I enjoyed seeing Henry see his past from a new perspective as well. Recommend! The narrator for the audiobook was great! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review.

What a great book!! Genuinely didn’t know this was part of a series when I picked it up but it was definitely enjoyable without knowing much about the world. That being said I was not surprised to see the first two were already on my TBR. I will definitely be reading them soon.
This was a cozy whimsical witchy romance that takes place in the perfect Christmas setting. The characters are ones you root for and the chemistry was fantastic! I was rooting for them each page and found myself loving the mix of emotion, romance and banter. The mix kept me reading and and not wanting to put it down. I love a great fake dating forced proximity trope and this book did not disappoint. I loved the forgotten past element of the story and it made for a fantastic quick and fun read.
I recommend this to the cozy Romantasy reader looking for a Christmas centered book. Thank you so much NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book!

First, I did not figure out that I was reading part three before I read part 1 and two, I will probably go back and read the others now.
Tia is a witch that finds herself pretending to be dating her ex that she really does not like to be around. It all happened because of the work thing but while they are pretending, is it really pretending. Lots of sexual tension with some steam love scenes but ultimately is it really just a big misunderstanding or do they want to give it another try. Then their story is leaked and new tensions surface. Good story with some really likable characters. Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC of this audiobook.

Season of the Witch by Sophie H. Morgan is a magical, festive finale to the Toil and Trouble series, and it was such a fun ride.
This book finally gives us Tia—the prickly, fiercely loyal friend—and pairs her with Henry, her ex from eight years ago who suddenly loses his memories of their breakup. Cue the banter, holiday chaos, and sizzling tension as these two are forced to fake a reunion while navigating magical mishaps and old wounds.
What I loved:
• Enemies-to-lovers + second-chance setup
• Christmas overload and witchy shenanigans 🎄✨
• Banter that made me laugh out loud
• A twist I didn’t see coming 👀
• Themes of loyalty, identity, and opening your heart again
Tia’s complexity really came through here, and I liked seeing Henry’s evolution as he slowly pieced his memories back together. Their chemistry was undeniable, and while the ending wrapped up a little too neatly for my taste, I still found the romance satisfying and heartwarming.
Overall, this was a cozy, festive romcom with magic, spice, and plenty of charm. Fans of Practical Magic and Bridgerton with a holiday twist will adore this series.
I really think the voice actors were great for this read and made it more immersive!
Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin, and Sophie H. Morgan for the Audio ARC! 💕
