A nest of magic is a cosy sapphic romantasy with similar vibes to the Pheonix Keeper.

It's a cute story about a grumpy librarian living on the edge of a Nature Refuge, and a mystery woman who strolls into her library one day.
It's a truly low stakes, happy ever after with magic in the real world.

The story wasn't quite for me, as the characters seemed a bit flat? Too accepting?

HOWEVER, if you enjoy a whimsical storyline with characters who are just happy to be on the journey you'll love A Nest of Magic.

This was a sweet story, but I finished it feeling like nothing really happened.

Corinthia is a librarian in a small town. She loves her books, chocolate, and being indoors.

She meets a mysterious stranger, and discovers the magic in the woods surrounding her.

This was a sweet read. Makes you feel more in touch with nature, trying something different and stepping out of your comfort zone. This book had everything I love - a librarian - birds - a loyal companion (dog) and women supporting women / friendship goals. It was like awkward dating; a little bit cringe a little funny but also 100% sweet and cozy and you can’t help but root for the characters. It’s a slow burn sapphic romance comedy in a fantasy world and thanks to my books with birds on the cover challenge I have read out of my comfort zone and actually enjoyed something I didn’t think I would ever bother reading. 4 stars. I especially loved how the final chapter was from the dog’s point of view. I will be keen to read more works from Kate Moseman. Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for a chance to read and review this e-ARC!

This is the kind of book where you start reading at a table during your lunch break and when you look up from the pages after being sucked in for 30minutes, you're in bed with a blanket around your shoulders and a cup of tea on your nightstand and you have no idea how you got there but you're calm and happy. I will not be explaining further.

Compliments to the chef (well, the author)! This book is written with charm and the kind of vocabulary you only get from being an amazing reader before you become an amazing writer. This book would theoretically be a quick cozy read but I kept insisting on reading it before bed so that my dreams would be whimsical and colorful. Of course, this meant that I would read around 15 pages at a time before I fell asleep with my phone in my hand. But don't worry, my dreams were just as cozy as each chapter of this lovely book.

The whimsy and romance of this book flow easily (like my tears when this book ended - I wanted it to go on forever) I really enjoyed how the characters interacted with each other. The romantic scenes had a lovely slow burn that had me giggling/kicking my feet. Bashful flirting may be a new favorite trope for me. I also loved the setting! I mean come on who doesn't want to fall in love in a magical place full of nature and books and pretty women who make you smile.

If you need a little pick me up of fantasy and sweety library kisses, I recommend this book

It takes me alot to give a book 5 stars but A Nest of Magic was such a warm, cozy read with a lovely sapphic romance at its heart. I really enjoyed the mix of gentle fantasy, charm, and community—it had that comforting, magical feel that makes you want to curl up with it on a quiet afternoon. The world felt inviting without being overwhelming, and the characters were easy to connect with.

What I loved most was how wholesome it felt. The magic was woven in softly, the romance was sweet and tender, and the overall tone left me smiling by the end. It’s the perfect blend of cozy fantasy and romance.

Recommendation:
Great for fans of cozy fantasy like Legends & Lattes, but who also want sapphic representation and a touch of heartwarming magic.

3.5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟✨

I honestly enjoyed this book so much, the writer draws just you in from the get go. The descriptions of nature and the character banter is perfect. Although the book overall was a little bit predictable, the vibes kept me going. My only problem with this book is I just wanted to stay in the world a little longer, with relatable characters and a a truly magical forest.

Thank you @netgalley for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a charming and heartwarming cozy fantasy.. truly the perfect book to curl up with in the fall. Kate Moseman captures the feeling of small-town magic so well, blending romance, friendship, and community into a story that feels both whimsical and grounded.

Corinthia, the rule-following librarian who would rather stay inside with her books and her chocolate, was so relatable. Watching her be slowly drawn out of her routines, first by a bet with her best friend Stevie, then by the pull of the woods, and finally by the mysterious Rosemary, was a delight. I loved the contrast between Corinthia’s cautious, practical nature and Rosemary’s curious, sunshine-like presence. Their connection felt sweet and natural, built on kindness and openness rather than drama or angst.

The supporting cast also added so much charm: Stevie’s banter with Corinthia was pitch-perfect, the small-town backdrop gave it a lived-in warmth, and the animal refuge (plus Beaufort’s chapter!) brought an extra layer of coziness. The Florida setting was an unexpected but refreshing touch, making this feel different from other cozy fantasies I’ve read.

With its low-stakes story, sapphic romance, and a dash of seasonal magic, this book is the definition of a comfort read. I only wish it were longer because I didn’t want to leave Shadow Ridge behind. If you’re looking for something light, sweet, and magical to enjoy this autumn, A Nest of Magic is exactly the book to pick up.

Let me just start with saying this book was just as witty and cozy as it was truly magic.
If you want a funny, yet real feeling cozy fantasy romance to read this fall that will make you laugh and warm your heart I highly recommend this book. It was a nice comfort read the low stakes and the bookish atmosphere along with the fluffy heart warming love story. This stand alone fantasy romance is the perfect book for a night of cozy magical fall reading.
Reading through the twist and turns of this book showing that for our main character Cornithia not everything is as it seems and the small town she has lived in is crawling with magic beyond her wildest imagination, that she has not yet let her self believe in. We follow her story through her growth challenging what she has known learning of the nature and magic around her, Challenging rules she has set out for herself, and doing it all for love.

I would like to give a thanks for reciving this as a ARC as I have always wanted to read and review ARCs. This is the first one I was ever approved for so it will always hold a special place within my heart and on my book shelf once it is out for purchase ^^.

This was a very cute & cozy little read. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that cute and cozy isn't really for me. It was sweet, although I am still very confused about what it was entirely about? Perhaps that's a me issue. It was definitely cute, bonus points for the dog.

I got this as an arc on Netgalley and it will come out in October. This book is exactly what it says it is: A sapphic cozy fantasy. I enjoyed this a lot as a light read.

"There once was a town where nothing ever happened - until, one day, it did.

Corinthia, the librarian of Shadow Ridge, doesn't fall for mysterious strangers. She doesn't go for long walks in the woods. And she most certainly does not believe in magic.

She has her books, her rescued hound, and her Cabinet of Chocolate - everything she needs for a cozy evening alone, thank you very much.

But when a bet with her best friend leads to a hike in the maze-like nature preserve behind the Shadow Ridge Library, she meets a mysterious woman who challenges everything she thought she knew about her town, her destiny, and her heart.

She doesn't believe in magic...but magic believes in her."

Note to self, get a Cabinet of Chocolate before indulging in this delightful book.

Corinthia works in her local library where she meets Rosemary, an unusual woman she has never seen before, but is immediately intrigued by. This cozy fantasy follows Corinthia as she learns more about the Refuge, the mysterious woodland that borders her home, more about herself, and more about Rosemary, who seems to show up in unexpected times and places.
It's a very cute story, and their relationship is both quirky and adorable. I also loved Stevie and Drew who added some comedy to the book. Occasionally in the middle of the book, it felt like we were just being told what to feel instead of being shown events to make us feel it, but overall it was fast paced and enjoyable to read.

This was such a charming and cozy fantasy! Kate Moseman creates a magical small-town world that feels both whimsical and grounded, with characters I truly cared about—especially Corinthia, who I found so relatable. I loved the mix of romance, friendship, and community, as well as the unique fantasy elements that made the story stand out. The Florida setting was a fun touch, and the animal refuge (plus that adorable dog POV!) added so much warmth. The sapphic romance was sweet and natural, and I appreciated how it blended seamlessly into the story. My only wish is that it had been longer, since I didn’t want to leave this world. Overall, a delightful, feel-good read that left me excited for more from Kate Moseman!

Corinthia is a librarian, she’s a stickler for rules, and she’s a bit grumpy. One day, while working, she sees a beautiful woman come in dressed in blue and silver, that’s Rosemary. Rosemary is sunshine personified, kind of quirky and very curious, almost child like. That same afternoon, Corinthia ventures into the environmental reserve for a hike, to settle a bet with Stevie her best friend, and feels an unexplainable connection to it, so much so that it begins to invade her home in many ways.

I think this book is literally the definition of cozy fantasy. It’s not my preferred genre but I actually enjoyed it. The entire book felt very magical. There is clear chemistry between the main characters, and even the secondary characters are well developed. The small town vibe of the whole book was really lovely.

Overall, it’s a short and cute, easy read.

Cozy low-stakes sapphics with botanical magic? Librarian x Mystery lady? That's this book wrapped in insta-love and very detailed environment.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about A Nest of Magic. I absolutely love the magic and the world-building, especially everything about the Refuge. It's amazing and I felt fully immersed in it.

What falls short for me is the characters I guess. To me it felt like something was missing or more was needed for the story and growth? I don't like to admit it but I didn't like Rosemary, she just came of as rude to me and I couldn't see past the opening all of the cabinets at Corinithia's home. Even if I in hindsight get why she is like that.

It could also just be me having a hard time with the insta-love aspect and when something just feels very ”ah, America”. I can't exactly explain this feeling either.

However, there is parts of the book that clicks with me, like when the romance author talks about romance books and how it's just not smut and unrealistic expectations. Very fourth wall-y. I like it!

A cosy sapphic story set over Halloween and the beginning of November, and is absolutely perfect for snug nights in! It's so sweet and charming, it's easy to get lost in the story - and you can absolutely read this in one sitting (as I did) wrapped under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate (as Corinthia would 100% approve of!)
I absolutely loved Corinthia and Stevies friendship, their dialogue was funny flowed so well! It was never jarring and felt like a real conversation. The relationship that unfolds is based on curiousity, kindness, and a willingness to be open. The story was very easy to follow and really is a perfect fantasy romance with no spice!
I also loved Beauforts chapter, and I will definitely be trying this hot choc recipe provided at the end ☺️

Thank you to Netgalley, Kate Moseman, and Victory Editing for this ARC! 🖤

So I started this book not really knowing what to expect. It was quite slow at the beginning up until the middle of the book. It was quite cute in the end but I'd say this was more aimed at Ya readers. It's a nice pallette cleanser but not really my kind of book. Sorry
