I tried so hard to really like this book as I absolutely loved Gypsy Beach. For whatever reason, be it an off week for reading for me, or whatever, I couldn't like this book as much as I did the first one. While Ryan, and Sienna made a small appearance in this novel, I feel like I was hoping for an extension of their love story that just absolutely left me breathless, and wanting more. Gypsy Love was about John - who we saw in the first book - and Arley, who escapes to Gypsy Beach after a bad relationship.
The characters were well written. I did enjoy them - for the most part. John seemed to overuse several phrases that just got to the point of annoying. Arley was timid, which in all reality she has the right to be. After a bad relationship that sends her to the magical shores of Gypsy Beach. Here, she hopes that she gets touched by the Gypsy magic that is rumored to be on these shores. Her and John seem to hit it off right away, and John does his best to make Arley fall in love with him. Or, is it the other way around?
Overall, the writing was great. There were no spelling, or grammar errors, and Jillian Neal really does a wonderful job bringing her characters to life. I loved Gypsy Beach - the first book in the series - and I think there was a part of me just hoping it was the second part of Ryan, and Sienna's story. Other than that, I just don't think it was the book for me this week. I do plan on rereading it in the near future, and will update my review upon doing so.
