Jake , a successful New York chef has been left as the beneficiary of his fathers will. Only , he did not know his father , and could not begin to imagine what his father had left for him. There is a lot unanswered secrets about his family Jake has to look into. Jake’s mother always kept his dad a secret. He moves to the ranch he has inherited to learn he has brothers, a ranch to take care of , and a girl he’s falling for. There is some mystery , some romance , and some good country life feels. Loved this read and would recommend.

I really enjoyed this book. Liz is a related character. Has been hurt in the last so keeps her walls high to not chance getting hurt again. Jake wasn't an annoying "city boy". He came to the ranch his father left him in his will and hit the ground running to fit in and do what he could to help. Loved Liz and Jake spicy scenes. Peony was as sweet as pie. Loved the Canadian euphemisms, they were hilarious to me. A lot of them I have never heard. Great story, great ending!
Negatives: could just be a formatting issue and/or these have already been corrected but there were a lot of spacing issues. (No space after period or the word belong was "be long" or too was "to o".
I don't LOVE the cover. The cover is the first thing people see especially at a store. The animation seems a little juvenile in my opinion.

I would definitely read more from this author!
I will post my recommendation on Tiktok within the next 2 weeks.

Interesting Canadian western saga. Fish out of water Jake gets summoned to the ranch of his recently departed estranged father and finds out he inherited the ranch. Family drama ensues when no one was aware of each other and the sons who lived on the ranch gets jilted. Also on the ranch is his stepsister, who’s not related by blood and also did not know about Jake. This book mostly focuses on the familial drama and twists and secrets that dad left for the family. This is open door, but less spicy than Elsie Silver and Lyla Sage. Good pick up if you don’t mind the stepsister angle and lots of drama.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC! I really enjoyed the family dynamic in this - it was complex but it was clear how much they all cared for each other. I enjoyed watching the bond between the brothers develop. I also liked that it was the MMC (Jake) who was the “city guy” and that Liz (the FMC) was the kickass cowgirl!!
