Hilarious, mischievous, and a little bit wicked, this one charmed me from brimstone to butterfly. Not Today, Satan reads like a rom-com that wandered into Dante’s apartment and refused to leave: voicey, fast, and packed with one-liners that land as often as the book’s tender moments do. The heroine… a seventeen-year-old Prince of Darkness’s daughter, is equal parts exhausted royal heir and surprisingly relatable teen, and her dry, snarky narration had me smiling through scenes that should’ve been legitimately terrifying. Nathan is an immediate soft spot: earnest, with that “smiles-at-brimstone” energy, and the chemistry between them is spicy without ever feeling gratuitous.

What I loved: the tone. It’s rare to find a book that so confidently balances laugh-out-loud comedy, genuine heart, and a plot that actually moves. The worldbuilding gives you enough to ride the story without bogging things down, and the pacing kept me flipping pages late into the night.

What kept it from five stars: a few secondary threads felt undercooked… Iwanted to know more about the politics of Hell (yes, please, more scheming demigods) and some revelations land a bit predictably. There were also moments where the rules of “how Hell works” felt a touch fuzzy, which made a couple of stakes less visceral than they could’ve been.

Bottom line: wildly fun and emotionally satisfying with only a handful of missed opportunities. If you like your romance with a side of apocalypse and a heavy sprinkling of sass, you’ll adore this. I’m ready for more mischief from this author, bring on the sequel.

First of all, thank you to for the ARC read of Not Today, Satan! This was such a fun read and I truly enjoyed it every single time!

Basic Rundown:
The daughter of the devil makes it her mission to figure out who her true identity is by escaping the layers of Hell in order to get to Earth. How does she do that? Through aiding a sinner that claims he is innocent. Thats her way out - well, that and trying to NOT fall for him.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Honest Thoughts:
Okay, I have to be honest - I didn’t even KNOW this was going to be YA going into this but I must admit? I LOVED this. As someone who grew up Catholic but really enjoys different takes like this, Not Today, Satan was everything I needed and more.

Devica sort of reminds me of the kind of protagonist I would love to be - someone who grows into who she is meant to be but retains that sass and skill that makes her so likeable and fun. She and Nate had some hilarious banter, and if there’s a second book to this series - which the epilogue seems to tease - I would love to see more of them.

Overall, this is a fun read who wants something a little lighter that surrounds religion and the universe, but also keeps the tension and story relatively interesting to keep you going. So much fun!

Perfect for fans of:
Forbidden romance 💘 🥀
Retellings of Hell and Paradise 🔥
Funny and cute banter 👄
Badass female protagonist ⚔️
Self-love journey ❤️

This book was great!! I love how this author pictured Hell, it was so descriptive and I could really see it in my mind. Devica was a badass. She struggled through some things but was always so strong. She didn’t let anything get in her way. Nate was just hilarious, he really joked about everything. I also loved the bickering and chemistry between the two. 100% read this book!!!!!

I feel like I never know what to expect from YA books these days but I do think that my high schooler that read would be into this book. It was a fun read!

"Weren’t cats the furry demons Father sent to Earth to punish the living?”

A fast-paced and fun YA read with light spice and a whole lot of humor.

This was a cute coming-of-age tale that had me laughing all the way through while also doing a great job of incorporating real teen and family struggles. 4 stars for sure and a recommended read!

I wish I liked this more. The premise is fun, and there are moments with witty banter, but the writing is choppy and blunt. It distracted me to the point where I couldn't get into the story, and I found it really hard to connect with the FMC. Her motivations felt very forced, and I found it even harder to connect to the MMC. He was just along for the ride despite the fact that he was the one who originally asked to escape hell. The whole thing felt very surface-level, and I never felt connected to either character throughout the whole book. I just don't think this was meant for me to read

Thank you Entangled and Net Galley for this ARC!

I was super excited that I got to read an early copy of this book, but first things first. This is NOT a standalone like I originally thought, there is a minor cliffhanger at the end so just keep that in mind when deciding to read this book. As far as the plot and storyline of the book, I really enjoyed Nate’s humor throughout this book and I liked the book in essence, but there was just something that fell flat for me while I was reading this book. I felt like at some points the story just was moving really slowly and felt like there was some inconsistent pacing throughout the book. But overall, I found this book to be highly entertaining and the world building to be executed well and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for book two to see what happens next.

Format: Kindle ARC

I really enjoyed the concept of this book. Loosely based off Dante’s Inferno with some romance built in. It was action packed with very little spice. I really enjoyed the cheesy jokes and the complicated relationships.

I’ll be honest—I didn’t fully know what to expect from this book, but WOW I’m absolutely blown away. It’s witty, refreshing, and such a breath of fresh air from a lot of the same recycled tropes I’ve been seeing lately.

The story follows the daughter of Satan (yes, really 👀), who risks everything to help a falsely condemned boy escape Hell. What follows is a wild, emotional, and hilarious journey full of heart, romance, and self-discovery.

I loved the storyline and cant wait to see where the book goes from the cliffhanger.

I absolutely adored this book! The character voice, the romance, the humor and hijinks, and the romp through Hell all culminated together to create this super fun, fast-paced, and immersive read. SO excited to receive my own copy in the mail come November!

Thank you, Entangled Publishing, and NetGalley for this ARC. I absolutely loved it from beginning to end. If you are a fan of YA books that have a mix of comedy and a good plot also some spice, then you will enjoy this book. I think the author wrote a strong also funny heroine and a very charming male lead. Whom you will for sure fall for as well. Overall, I think it has a real interesting premise, and well written characters, it is a fun reading adventure for sure. First time reading this author and I cannot wait to continue my reading journey with her. Also, I cannot wait for the next book because this does end with a cliffhanger. I will say no more. Except that I cannot wait to buy it.

4.25 stars!
This was an incredibly fun read with a lot of genuine laugh out loud moments! Who would have thought a rom com could be set in Hell??? Devica was a fantastic FMC with clever banter and just the right amount of depth.
I also wasn’t expecting how emotional this one was going to make me as well. The betrayals and how they were navigated was done incredibly well.
If you’re looking for a fun, fast, and funny YA read add this to your TBR!

This was such an action packed read! A super easy YA read, with the reluctant allies, forbidden love, mystery and so much humor thrown in. I really enjoyed it beginning to end!
Not Today Satan, follows Devica. Heir to Hell and Satans daughter, she has been raised to be a certain way.. like her father, a ruthless overlord. She has more empathy than her father, making her quite the different demon. Meanwhile, her powers are slow to develop.. the powers she needs to keep the souls of hell in line. As she’s sorting souls into their designated lots, where she meets Nate. A human, who is dead set that he does not belong in hell but is there on the premise of murder. This begins a slope of Devica questioning everything she’s ever been raised upon while trying to right the wrong sentence that Nate received. Maybe, some humans aren’t as bad as she thought.

A fun romp, just not my style because wow do I NOT want to read about a 17-year-old, and that's on me for missing that crucial detail in the blurb.

Silly me, I imagined a book about the devil retiring and leaving ruling to his kid would happen when the kid was, say, the oh-so-young age of roughly 150. No such luck, and I have no interest in reading about a teen, even if the rest of the book sounds fun. Give the stories with the 40 year olds please!

3 stars because otherwise this was a decent read, simply not my cup of tea.

Faced pace and fun, enjoyed the humor in this book. It read like a YA book, but considering it is that makes sense. I love the take on someone who has spent their entire life in hell. I would recommend this book.

Not today, Satan. Not today

I loved this YA book. It was a captivating and fun adventure with thought provoking undercurrents about the concept of good and evil but also about duty, fairness, balance and love. It is a coming of age story with shades of Dante’s Inferno. The story was well written with three dimensional characters and an engaging storyline amidst good world building. Devica is 17 and the daughter of Satan. She is supposed to take over Hell from her father in a year when she turns 18. Unfortunately, she is a social outcast and not very good at being a demon despite her mandatory training. Nathan is a 17 year old human who was sent to Hell for committing murder. He claims he is innocent and something about him calls to Devica. Another surprise meeting with Nate and the discovery of a secret, lead Devica to start a journey out of hell to help Nate escape back to Earth and find something that she needs there as well. The character arc for Devica was beautifully done. She started off as a stereotypical whiny teen (despite being raised in Hell) but as the book unfolds who she is, her feelings and her issues are fleshed out until she (and to some degree Nate) becomes a real and relatable person who is doing the best she can as a messy being. Definitely read this book. Laugh. Think deep thoughts. Feel all the things. Cheer on the teenage hero and young love. 4.5 stars.

ARC Review- 4.5

I very much enjoyed this book. It maintained a fast paced while still proving details over each of the character and as well as the world.
I felt like I was watching a movie, I could put down the book an pick back up so easily due to the way it was written. Everything was clear and any doubts or yearning for background information was answered in the epilogue and what I imagine the next book will go over.

Devica was such a well rounded character, there were times I questioned and thought her actions were exaggerated but thinking back on it now I think it was perfect.

The book was filled with action and comedy, a little bit of romance to give it some extra spice. I LOVED the cheesiness in some scenes and Devica pointing them out.

The WINGS (WTF) I was in shock reading about it and I want to see Ferus suffer more.

I am excited to read the next book, answering some question about lucifer and the angels, I was mostly just left wanting to know more about them at the end. great cliffhanger too.

I will be posting on my goodreads, instagram, tiktok; as well as amazon (once its released)
