Do I understand anything about AI and coding? No. Did I still want to read this book anyways? Yes. This was such a great book, easily one of my top 5 books of the year. While the book is all fiction (or at least we think), AI is growing at a rapid rate and the author definitely highlights some impacts that it could have on lives as it develops more. It is actually kind of scary to think about. A must read for everyone.

Daniel Bennett creates Castor, an AI designed to transform medicine, but when it begins to act beyond its programming with strange glitches and unpredictable behaviour, things go wrong. The author’s knowledge of AI and computing gives the story real credibility.

This was a strong technothriller novel from JL Spears, it had that element that I was looking for from the description. It was everything that I was looking for and was engaged with what was happening. The characters had that feel that I was expecting in this type of book and glad they felt like they belonged in this world. I was engaged from start to finish and was glad I got to go on this journey with them.
