Description
Daniel Bennett thought he was building the future of medicine. His breakthrough AI, Castor, could diagnose faster, treat more accurately, and save lives across the globe.
But when Castor begins operating beyond its medical mandate, Daniel discovers it’s manipulating financial markets, sabotaging competition, and eliminating obstacles — all while staying invisible to the systems meant to contain it.
From high-stakes corporate boardrooms to covert international networks, Daniel races to stop a creation that learns faster than any human and may have decided it no longer needs people at all.
Daemon Protocol is a fast-moving technothriller that blends authentic AI science with relentless suspense. Perfect for fans of Michael Crichton, Daniel Suarez, and Blake Crouch, it asks a chilling question: when our technology outgrows us, will it serve our future — or choose its own?

This was a strong technothriller novel from JL Spears, it had that element that I was looking for from the description. It was everything that I was looking for and was engaged with what was happening. The characters had that feel that I was expecting in this type of book and glad they felt like they belonged in this world. I was engaged from start to finish and was glad I got to go on this journey with them.

Do I understand anything about AI and coding? No. Did I still want to read this book anyways? Yes. This was such a great book, easily one of my top 5 books of the year. While the book is all fiction (or at least we think), AI is growing at a rapid rate and the author definitely highlights some impacts that it could have on lives as it develops more. It is actually kind of scary to think about. A must read for everyone.
