My 7 year old really loved this book! It had a couple great lessons which were pointed out at the end and I liked that’. The pictures were intricate and gorgeous!

Finally a children's book in my pile that doesn't have social commentary. This book reminded me of The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear by Audrey Wood, Don Wood. I loved the illustrations, the can-do attitude of Emmie and the different creations and materials she used throughout. A sweet story that will definitely capture the hearts of its readers. The messaging is nice enough and the structure is strong in order to be a mentor text for teachers looking to teach reading or writing with this text.

I will absolutely add this text to my classroom library for teaching.

This one was fun! I loved that Emmie is an example of the power of perseverance, creativity, empathy, and kindness in equal parts. The illustrations are detailed and I have no doubt would provide something new to notice at each reread.

Thank you to NetGalley and Marjorie Crosby-Fairall for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I read this to my four-year-old twins on our quest to read 1,000 unique books by kindergarten. They requested this one TWICE because the more they looked, the more fun things they saw! I love books like this that encourage STEM thinking in our young children. Solve problems by creating a plan, testing, hypothesizing, and the reworking if it doesn't go right the first time! I truly enjoyed how the cat and the mouse became friends at the end, and worked together to create a very cute and fun invention for the cat too.

Loved this read and would recommend it for personal collections, libraries, or classrooms.

Thank you for allowing me to review your work.

Delightful. I usually don't like when the text is small on the page. But it worked for this book, because the illustrations were terrific. What a fun way to teach that girls can be creative and inventive. Loved this book. I highly recommend it.
