Just finished Missing Sister by Joshilyn Jackson and wow, this one had me hooked from page one! Penny and Nix’s twin bond is written so vividly that I felt their closeness even after Nix was gone, which made the grief and guilt Penny carries really hit hard. Penny is a rookie cop who stumbles into a murder that ties straight back to her sister’s death. I loved how twisty it got from there, and every time I thought I knew who was in control, the story flipped it around! I love how personal the revenge thread felt. It’s not just a crime story, but messy, emotional, and full of that push pull between justice and obsession. If you like thrillers with complex family ties, revenge plots, and crazy twists, this is one to bump to the top of your list!

I don’t know what this was. Full transparency: I did not a single thing about this book. I didn’t understand why the cops treated one of their own like a criminal because she was heard talking to someone at the crime scene. The writing seemed disjointed, the conversations and the lingo seemed out there at times. Even the plot wasn’t good. By far, my least favorite book of hers.
