Gia is living in a high class. Not only is she rich, she lives in Hollywood with her actor father. Out of the blue one day her dad hires bodyguards for himself, Gia and her brother Mike. He won’t tell her why.
Jack is Mia’s new protector but when she begins receiving threatening calls they work together to figure out what’s going on.

The banter between Jack and Mia is spot on. Jack quickly became my favorite. This was a quick read with a slow burn on the mystery part.

Not usually my go-to genre but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and gave this a try. I really enjoyed it and would recommend to those wanting to try the genre.

This book let me inside the world of Gia and it was completely perfect! Once I started reading, I could not put this book down! This book completely deserves 5 out of 5 stars!

Personally, I think this book can still do better. I didn't like the characters nor the plot, but the writing skill/style of the author made me continue reading it.

Something weird happened with my laptop and a lot of my downloads disappeared, including this and other Netgalley ARCs I had not yet gotten around to, but are now archived and not available to re-download... I am sadness

Lucky Me is a charming romance mystery. It's fun to read, but there's nothing remarkable about it. It's a classic teen romcom. It's a good choice for a light easy read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

A light diversion. Fun, but ultimately forgettable.

I was really looking forward to reading this since it seemed right up my alley and I love mysteries but alas, this book failed to deliver. Not to sound crass, but it was painful to read for me. I guess because I'm an editor, it affects me a bit more. However, I did finish it because the storyline was good and it was suspenseful. I liked the premise of the book but it just didn't deliver well. Gia, the protagonist was immature, annoying, and way too over dramatic for her age.. Even Milo and Jack, the male protagonists annoyed me (which is a first). There were some good, funny parts though and Kudos to the author for a good book idea.

This book was definitely cute. I enjoyed it, yada yada yada. The premise was neat. I think I was even somewhat invested in the story. But honestly, it was quite unmemorable. It was a cutesy Hollywood “typical” YA contemporary romance, and it was fun for that, but I can hardly even recall what happened. Oops? It was cute. Let’s just leave it at that.

Lucky Me is a very teenage book, but it was a fun and light read.

A first time author, Kapur shows great promise for future work. The first person narration of "Lucky Me" worked well and Gia, while sometimes annoying as a character, was a mostly believable and enjoyable character.

The plot began to drag about midway through the story, and I felt that Gia came across as almost too calm occasionally.

Younger teens would likely enjoy this book, but those looking for a meaty, thought provoking work will come away disappointed.
