Sorry for the late review. My kindle died and I having a heck of the time trying to find all the books I read and get them back on my new device. :(.
I love everything that Danielle Walker puts out. I have only made a few of her recipes but all have been a success.
I highly recommend any cookbook by Danielle Walker. She is great and her recipes are always simple and work out well.
This book helped me cook for friends and family who eat gluten-free. My family (who can eat gluten) found the recipes good, too -- so everyone was happy!
I enjoy Danielle's blog, Against all Grain, and own her first two cookbooks. Her recipes are usually spot on in finished product and can compare to my mom's home cooking, on a healthier scale. However, I did not enjoy this cookbook as much as her first two. For my purposes many recipes I would use for holiday celebrations I would find in her first two cookbooks or on her blog. I didn't love her menus for the specific holidays, and maybe this is a personal opinion, but I just felt like it wasn't what most families would cook (paleo or not). I would still recommend this for anyone looking for a paleo cookbook simply because you can trust the recipes found inside.
Great recipes for anyone wanting to add gluten free foods to their diet or for those who can't eat gluten. This book is all that I expected after being a follower of her blog for a while. The recipes are delicious, some have prep, and substutions for some foods are included. Excellent!
I felt this was very well done. I appreciated some of the autobiographical information included as I do not ascribe to a strict paleo diet but the author does encourage the benefits of the food choices she makes and inspires the reader to want to try out her recipes through her own journey. Beautiful layout and recipes I will try!
