This book deals with the difficult topic of human trafficking. This book does a really good job of exposing the horrors to this. It starts with the main character, James, trying to get his life back on track after the loss of his wife. He is trying to get custody of his daughter back and ends up taking a job as a truck driver, not realizing that there are two girls hidden in the truck. He discovers them in the truck and unknowingly delivers them into a prostitution ring.

The despair while in the situation can surely be felt in the story with all that Maria and Antonia were going through, as well as the other girls in the story. You can feel the true evil coming from the people leading the ring, the grooming of the girls, etc. I especially loved the character of Dale and his background story. I especially liked the “priceless” theme throughout the story, that each and every one of us is “priceless” and that the girls in the situation deserved much better.

This is one of those stories that sacrifices good writing, character development, etc. for the sake of a message. Here, the focus is human trafficking, emphasizing that human life is worth far more than the value that the trade puts on it. It‘s an important message, but that‘s about all I have to say for this book.
