This is my usual kind of novel. It delves into the paranormal and is also a thriller.
I enjoyed how some of the characters were relatable and they had their own internal / external conflicts.
I also like that it was based on the Roanoke disappearance as I haven't seen many novels that have focused on this story and it is very interesting.
It was well written and had elements of science fiction, which made it an interesting read overall.

A well written horror story that I devoured in a single sitting.

Definitely worth a read, but beware of you are triggered by addiction issues, this book would not be for you.

I rate COLONY OF THE LIST as 4 out of 5 Stars

I really liked this creepy story and found it to be very compelling. The writing is very good and the characters realistic. It was a fun, quick read.
Many thanks to CreateSpace and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I wasn't really a fan of this novel. I found myself "skimming"...which I rarely ever do. I didn't really like the characters.

I want to thank NetGalley, the Publisher and the author for my ARC copy for a fair and honest review.

I tried, I really, really tried to get into this book, it wasn't because of any particular reason, other than I was simply in the wrong mindset for this book after getting started.

The author did a good job creating his cast of characters, the plot was interesting, with some good twists and turns, I just wasn't loving the enemy. I know, who's supposed to love the enemy? Well normally I don't love them, but instead hate them. This one was a little too obscure for me to hate. Yes, I hated that his "food" of choice was kids, but beyond that what else would an alien that takes over the minds of people really like to snack on?

The author did a good job getting me to invest in his merry band of misfit heroes, all with their own issues, besides that of fighting for their friends, families and town. He also did a nice job tying the loose ends all together. I will be giving the author another go once I am ready to face a little sci-fi again. Until then....

Well, it was a very interesting and unusual premise. However, the characterization was so uneven that it was hard to get into the story considering how much I hated Jay. The murders were a bit too graphically described in a way that ended up feeling gratuitous a few murders in. The climax was unbelievable and confused and anticlimactic in the end. A bit disappointing for me.
