This was an absolutely-delightful, romantic romp. It had a modern Cinderella-esque vibe and all the essential elements that make for the kind of read that you just can't seem to put down! The story line was interesting, and the characters were complex, identifiable and rich with life. I enjoyed this book immensely!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Lord Edmund Rushwood, has until he turns twenty-six to find a wealthy bride or lose his vast inheritance. Seeking a break from the situation he heads to America to visit a friend. Edmund agrees to participate in his friends tv show in the hopes of finding a bride.
Abby Forester is content to live out her father’s dreams in his vintage record shop. Invariably drawn to Edmund she is reluctant to have anything to do with him. Abby somehow ends up a contestant on the tv show as one of Edmund’s potential brides.
While I did enjoy the book it’s an easy, readable story featuring attractive characters,
I found it to be overlong. I lost interest as the ending was drawn out unnecessarily. I would give it a cautious recommendation.

This was one of those books, you know the ones, that you start reading and you just get engulfed in it. The characters Abby Forester, is a college student and shop owner of vinyl recorders. Her father left her a half owner of it. She is just a young, lonely, romantic girl trying to get by.
You see her mother passed when she was younger and her father always felt somewhat guilty never giving her another mother. So, he hastily brought an evil lady to their lives. She may have had bloodline but she had no culture no morals. Luckily, he never married her but he did give her half of the business. But she had Raify to help her handle the burdens of each day with Kendra.
So, when her father fell ill she quit school to care for him and this evil woman was nowhere to be found except when she came by to tell him he was lazy and to take money from the till. Then, of course, when she had to show the public she was the mourning girlfriend at the funeral needing assistance to walk and everything.
When one night she goes to help her friend Tommy at his bar who was shorthanded and an ex-classmate is there with a friend. She disliked Will a lot. Wanted to avoid his table at all cost he thought he could buy his way through life. Not her. But his friend she couldn’t seem to stop eyeing.
Now this guy, Lord Edmund Rushwood, he had money, looks, and tons of the women in the bar dropping off their numbers to him. When she gets back up to the bar she’s told one of the waitresses is on a break and needs to go to their table. She says, NO! Tommy says, Yes! So, she goes.
She ignores Will and engages Edmund who right away starts flirting. The way she and he banter is titillating for both of them. After a while, Will makes his presence known when she goes to get their drinks he tells Edmund to let it go she is not worth the effort. And that he won’t get first base. That was like flying the red flag in front of a bull.
You see Edmund was in the states to find a wealthy wife to marry and one with a good bloodline. He needed one per his father's will. All before his 26th birthday in three months. As the evening went on he became more intrigued with Abby. But Will kept him focused.
Then Will came up with having him be on the game show he hosted but for him, they could change the name to “Love Bachelor” who finds a bride. All through this, he can’t stop thinking of Abby. Then there is an altercation at the bar between a rugby player and Abby and Edmund goes to help. He gets her out of the way. She likes it but she doesn’t. Which only wins him over more. To the point of tracking her down.
This is a modern-day fairy tale. So, cute. Well played out. Abby’s character was under no delusions but wanted to keep hope and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. She wanted to believe that romance existed. Edmund surprised me is all I am going to say. I give this book: 5 stars. Provided by netgalley.com. Follow us at: www.1rad-readerreviews.com.
