Quirky and highly entertaining from a fabulous author. If you like things steamy then this one’s definitely for you.

My Thoughts:
Over the last few years, I've read quite a few of Tiffany Reisz's books. I've loved every single one that I've read. I've read all of he Sinners series, and the spinoffs. Some of her Sinners series I've even read multiple times. I recently found out that she wrote a few books under the Harlequin Blaze imprint, so I decided to pick up the first book in the series, Her Halloween Treat, and read it. I thought it was an enjoyable, sexy read.
When you hear someone talking about Harlequin books, the first think you probably think about is cliches that make you wan t to roll your eyes, and a lot of fluffy, non substance writing. That wasn't the case with Her Halloween Treat at all. The book was a bit cheesey at times, but in a sarcastic fun way. I especially enjoyed the banter between the main character, Joey, and her best friend, Kira. They cracked me up together. The banter between Joey and the love interest, Chris was also great. They had incredible chemistry that just rolled off of the pages, especially during the incredibly sexy parts of the book.
Sometimes while reading romance novels, the characters can kinda feel cookie cutteresque, like they don't have much personality because the book is more about sex than the plot. That wasn't the case with this book at all. The characters all had very well fleshed out personalities and backstories. Joey's brothers backstory was absolutely heartbreaking. Even though he's only a side character, Tiffany Reisz puts so much detail and emotion behind everything that he went through as a teenager that the reader feels like they're experiencing it first hand.
All in all, I really loved Her Halloween Treat. It didn't surprise me that much that I loved the book, considering how much I've enjoyed the author's other books. However, it did make me more open minded about reading more Harlequin books in the future, as it's a genre that's not something I usually pick up. I definitely plan on binge reading the rest of the Men at Work series, and reading a few other Harlequin Blaze authors too.
I give Her Halloween Treat: 4/5.

Quick and fun! If you love this author then you should certainly check out this festive book!! You can never go wrong with Tiffany Reisz!

Genre : Contemporary
Type: Standalone
Joey is such a fun character. I devour this book in one setting. Overall, this book is so much Fun, sexy, and it will keep you grinning till the very end.
Readers looking for a quick sexy reads twill truly enjoy this story.

VOTO: 3.5 stelle

Words cannot describe how much I loved Tiffany Reisz’s Her Halloween Treat; it was sexy, smart purestdelightawardand had so much humor that I found myself laughing out loud often. But guys, the sexy parts…holy smokes!! I loved that this couple had history with the hero being her big brother’s best friend and protector all through high school, that they shared something special many years ago, that he had a crush on her back in the day, that she appreciated him for the way he got his life together and for the man he is today and that together they found love despite the obstacles in their way.
Joey (please don’t call me Jolene, especially right now) is headed back to Oregon for her brother’s wedding to his partner and to say the trip back has been eventful is putting it mildly. Joey just got the shock of her life and she is feeling raw and emotional, but her best friend, Kira, encourages her to find a man, enjoy her time away from work and her life, and to “have insane, hot, totally meaningless sex until you remember what a goddess you are….” She is shocked when she arrives and her brother’s cabin and finds it totally remodeled and her brother’s best friend, Chris, putting on the finishing touches. Realizing that Chris has changed for the better in so many ways makes Joey’s lady parts stand up and take notice.
Chris can tell that Joey isn’t quite herself, but he still finds her as beautiful as ever. He knows he needs to talk to her about the job he, her brother and her brother’s partner want to offer her, but he feels like she needs some time to just adjust to being back home. What he doesn’t expect is for the time they spend together to turn his adolescent fantasies into reality. Let me just say that Chris was one smokin’ hot dirty talking with a bit of a dominate streak but, he was also a guy with a heart of gold.
I loved the history between these two and all the good memories they have of their time as children and then teenagers. While Joey isn’t quite in the best place in her life being around Chris makes her happier, makes her feel free and makes her want to have a fling; lucky for her Chris in on board with that idea. These two laughed a lot, shared so much from their early lives together, and from the years they’ve been apart and through it all they managed to sneak in some pretty sexy times all of which just made this book a joy to read. I’ll admit I worried about Chris quite a bit as it was obvious he’d never quite gotten over his crush on Joey; that only make him work harder to try and convince her not only they were worth it and to help her realize how much she missed being close to her family.
Tiffany Reisz isn’t tricking her readers with this one; friends to lovers, a bit of soul searching, an 80’s themed gay wedding, and fun in and out of the bedroom made Her Halloween Treat one fantastic romance.

This book was amazing and I hope the author continues to write the line. Snark, sex and pure amazeballs!!!

Although I am not normally a fan of Harlequin romance, as soon as I saw that Tiffany Reisz was writing one, I knew that I needed to give them another try. Unfortunately for me and probably rather unfairly for her, I did and I just couldn't bring myself to enjoy very much of this story. Why would I even give it a go with the very real possibility of this not working out for me? Because I didn't just like the author's previous works, I adored them and I truly believed that no matter what Tiffany Reisz penned, I would just love it. I did like the characters, I did like their connection and their banter, but once sex entered the equation, there wasn't much of a story to find. I like my stories with a side of steam or perhaps a super steamy story with some pretty incredible characters and an intricate storyline, not the other way around, and unfortunately that just wasn't the case with Her Halloween Treat. What it boils down to is what I figured all along, and have now confirmed, this genre just isn't my cuppa.

HER HALLOWEEN TREAT is book one in the Men at Work series by Tiffany Reisz. Joey Silvia leaves Hawaii to head home for her brother's wedding. Unfortunately for Joey this is not the happy homecoming she'd prefer. She is devastated after just discovering that her boyfriend of two years was secretly married. I like how Tiffany Reisz writes about the betrayal. While Joey's ex is obviously a jerk and she moves on, Tiffany Reisz does a superb job of showing the complexity and gray areas when it comes to human emotions. When she unexpectedly meets all grown up and super-hot handy man Chris Steffensen, Joey is knocked for a loop. What starts out as two old high school friends reminiscing quickly escalates into a sinfully delicious erotic connection.
I like that HER HALLOWEEN TREAT is told from alternating perspectives. I love Chris' memories of his times with Joey when they were teenagers. Although he thinks he was a borderline creeper when it came to Joey, I found his treasured memories to be incredibly sweet and swoon- worthy. Chris and Joey are well-matched and the laid-back tone of their burgeoning romantic relationship, and fun banter sprinkled throughout their smoking-hot trysts, make HER HALLOWEEN TREAT such a delight. The passionate encounters between Joey and Chris are electrifying. There is really no huge source of conflict in HER HALLOWEEN TREAT. The main obstacle to Chris and Joey being together on a permanent basis is Joey's struggle to figure out what direction she wants the rest of her life to go in after having been betrayed and shocked is such a catastrophic way. Joey doesn't distrust Chris, but she has a hard time trusting herself after being so easily deceived for so long. I adore stories in which the hero pursues the heroine and Chris weaves a web of seduction that is hard to resist.
HER HALLOWEEN TREAT is a stellar erotic love story with lots of charm. Second-chance-at-love and friends-to- lovers romances are an addiction of mine and HER HALLOWEEN TREAT satisfies my cravings. I like that Joey's brother Dillon is supportive without interfering in his sister's relationship with his best friend. It's an interesting dynamic having such a strong connection between Joey, Dillon, and Chris. This book has made me eager to hunt down other books by Tiffany Reisz and look forward to the next story in this Men at Work series.
