This was ok, good, quick holiday read. I wasn't sure it was going to be for me but sometimes you need a book that just picks you up a little.

This book was as if someone told robots what romance is and they tried to emulate what they were told. The conversations between the main characters were wording and unnecessary. There are pages of them talking about nothing that is important to the story nor interesting to read. And the scenario of them being stuck together was not believable nor enjoyable.
Needless to say, this book was not my cup of tea.

Fast paced, quirky and ridiculous. The book kept me engaged and I flew through it in a good way. Festive and effortless.

I’ve had this book on my kindle for longer than I would like to admit, I’m not even sure why. But after a long year and an even longer last few weeks at work before Christmas I was looking for something easy to read and festive. This really ticked those boxes.
Without giving anything away, the book centres around Eva and Lucas. Eva is a very upbeat, sing song business owner and I have to admit she wasn’t my favourite - she admits to living on Planet Eva and that’s just a bit too twee for me! Lucas on the other hand is a crime writer who doesn’t believe in second love but is in dire need of some inspiration for his next book.
Overall I found the story quite charming, easy to read albeit quite predictable and just generally exactly what I was looking for at this time of the year.

I requested this one back in the day as I had every intention of reading it. However, its been years and I still haven't gotten around to it and while I feel guilty at not reviewing a book I think that I need to admit to myself that I won't be reading this one anytime soon....if at all.

I love everything by this author, so when I saw this book I knew I had to get my hands on it. Just like normal I feel in love with the characters pretty fast and couldn't put this book down. I just had to know what was going to happen next.

Overall I really enjoyed this one! It was my first Sarah Morgan book but I will definitely be reading more books from this author. This was a great example of women's fiction with a wide appeal.

I received an arc from NetGalley for an honest review. This book was a quick holiday romantic read that really grabbed me in the beginning but towards the end, I just didn't care what happened.

Sarah Morgan is one of my very favorite authors, and I can definitely always count on her to get me into the Christmas spirit. I’ve read and loved many of her Christmas romances, so I was very eager to read Miracle on 5th Avenue as well.
1. Miracle on 5th Avenue is the first book in the From Manhattan with Love series that I’ve read, but I did not feel like I was missing out on any information. It reads perfectly fine as a standalone, but will make you want to grab the other books in the series as well.
2. I love that one of the main character, Lucas, is an author. He’s on deadline and he’s writing a book that millions of people are eagerly anticipating. Any book that includes other books is always a double win for me. I enjoyed reading about his writing process and the writer’s block and how he comes up with his stories. He writes crime novels, and he’s inspired to model a character after Eva, our heroine.
3. Speaking of Lucas, I loved him even though he’s not super lovable. Readers only see his bad side for a little while. He’s grumpy and stressed and pretty irritating. But then he becomes inspired by Eva, his creative juices start flowing, and when she becomes more to him than a character in his book he becomes caring and sweet. I loved seeing him open up about his past. As he did, so did Eva.
4. Eva is a Christmas fanatic just like me, so we got along very well. While grumpy Lucas worked upstairs in his fortress of solitude, she decorated a tree in his living room and cooked up a storm of so many yummy sounding foods all while singing her heart out. She’s so much like me. And she drove him nuts in an endearing kind of way. Her cheery disposition melted the ice man, and things got cute, if not a little bumpy along the way.
5. This book is so festive, which I’m finding is rare among this year’s “Christmas” book releases. I’ve read quite a few recent releases from this year and last year, and I finally found one that was Christmasy enough for me. Thanks for doing it again, Sarah! FINALLY.
6. I love Sarah’s writing and her ability to create characters that make their way into your heart, her ability to write emotions that you can feel, and her ability to always put a smile on your face.
All in all, Miracle On 5th Avenue was another win for me! I really loved it and am excited to continue the series. I love New York City, so it’s kind of like Sarah wrote me my own series! Definitely pick this up if you’re looking for a little Christmas cheer and some really fun characters.

I adored this story from beginning to end. A while ago I said I wanted to read more from this author and I'm so glad I chose this as my next read. It made me laugh, I cry and I feel all festive and warm inside in equal measures. This book is part of a series and other characters that we've read about before crop up but you don't need to read all the other books to enjoy this story although I would highly recommend that you read them all in order to get the best from the series - something that I plan to do ASAP as I can't get enough of them.

This is a wonderful book!!
It is enchanting and engaging it is full of fun, laughter and romance that will keep the reader hooked from page one. This is book is book three in the Manhattan With Love series, I will say that I haven't read the previous books in the series, but that didn't matter at all as I came to this book with fresh eyes and I read it as a stand-a-lone.
The characters are beautifully drawn, their journey to their happily ever after is fun and easy to read. the writing is utterly charming and the story keeps the reader glued right until the last page. Utterly heart-warming and a must read.

Oh my goodness Sarah Morgan, what a perfectly perfect time for this novel to come out! Eva totally brings about the Christmas spirit and this book completely got me into the holiday mood!
Since beginning this series I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen to Eva, hopeless romantic. She loves love so much and is such a positive force and I just knew a book about her was going to be wonderful.
This book is amazing. It’s got that Christmasy feel, it has two people stuck together in a snowstorm, and it has Lucas Blade, a brooding writer who obviously hasn’t met his match until he’s met Eva.
This book just made me happy. It’s light and fluffy, has some really complex characters, and it’s the perfect book to curl up and read by the fire with a big mug of hot chocolate.
If you’re looking for something to get you in the holiday spirit, this one is for you! And even though it’s part of a series it can absolutely be read as a stand alone novel. But watch out, you’re going to get addicted and you’ll definitely want more!

This was very fun and compulsively readable. I had a great time, and I plan to recommend it to many of my friends who will most likely agree.

It’s the final book in Sarah Morgan’s From Manhattan with Love series! I really enjoyed the first two books in the series, and this book was a sweet, Christmas-y conclusion.
This time, the story focuses on hopeless romantic Eva. She’s always been the bubbly, loving, and idealistic one in her trio of friends, with whom she co-owns an event planning business in Manhattan. Her beloved grandmother (her only family) died a year ago, though, and while she has the love of her best friends, the experience has left her lost and reeling. Throughout the books, Eva has befriended an elderly woman who sometimes hires them for small jobs, and when the woman hires her to decorate her grandson Lucas’s penthouse for Christmas while he’s out of town, Eva jumps at the chance. Of course, he’s not actually out of town, and a snowstorm (and stubbornness on both their parts) forces them to spend some quality holiday time together. To say Lucas is different than Eva would be a serious understatement. He writes gritty best selling crime novels, and he’s a widower. He’s dark, distrustful, angry, and completely unhappy, until Eva starts chipping away at his armor. Seeing the two come together was lovely.
In Book 1, I was afraid Eva was just going to be the flighty, silly best friend, but that’s not what she turned out to be at all. She is optimistic and romantic, but she’s not naive. She didn’t exactly have an easy life, but she chooses to look at the positive. I admired her spirit and perceptiveness. She is excellent at reading people and reaching out in a warm and genuine way, a talent she certainly uses on Lucas. For instance, while the snow storm and the job from Grandma serve to get the two in the same place, the REAL reason Eva stays is because she senses Lucas’s alarming despair and pain, and as a caring person Eva can’t ignore that. She quietly starts propping him up before he even realizes it. Lucas, on the other hand, is a miserable SOB. Again, I thought I knew what to expect–sad widower can never love again–but things turned out to be a bit more complicated that they first appeared. While Eva learns some things about herself and life, Lucas is really the one who goes through a major transformation in this book.
I really loved Eva and felt good about her romance, but it’s hard to avoid the fact that she serves as a bit of a manic pixie dream girl here. Lucas is the one wallowing in despair, but Eva swoops in to feed him, bring holiday cheer to his apartment, and challenge him to see the beauty in the world. In some ways that all makes perfect sense, because Eva is so filled with love and caring everyone around her can’t help but be swept into her circle. On the other hand, I wouldn’t have minded a little more focus on Eva and her own challenges. Her history wasn’t one-note–I would have liked to see that explored a bit more. I also wanted more time with her friends. Unlike the previous books, we don’t spend nearly as much time with Paige, Frankie, and the guys, and I missed that.
Still, if you like sweet contemporaries with funny dialogue and some good sexytimes, I don’t think you can go wrong with this series or this book. It’s not overly Christmas-y, but it has a nice little sprinkling of holiday magic if you’re in the mood for that, too. It certainly hit the spot for me.
Grade: 4 out of 5

Ended up a DNF after 10%. The dialogue feels incredibly forced and unnatural. I also am having a difficult time with the abrupt shifts between perspectives in throughout the entirety of the chapters. It seems that would have been a much smoother transition had it occurred from chapter to chapter.

“You have to agree Prince Charming is a more appealing character than Jack the Ripper.”
“But less interesting… “
Miracle on 5th Avenue by Sarah Morgan is a charming adult contemporary holiday romance teeming with fairy tale vibes. MEGA KUDOS to the author as the book is the 2017 RITA award winner in the long contemporary romance category. It’s the first book I’ve ever read by Sarah Morgan and the third installment in the author’s From Manhattan with Love series. Needless to say, it works very well as a standalone read, if that is your preference.
Miracle on 5th Avenue is the story of Eva Jordan and Lucas Blade, two polar opposites. As the story opens, they are both grieving losses of someone close to them – and having a hard time dealing with the holiday season. She’s an uninhibited hopeless romantic and he’s a cynical crime writer and best-selling author.
Lucas is under a deadline to turn in his next book before Christmas. But, the words and inspiration just aren’t there…. until he unexpectedly finds Eva in his penthouse. Lucas’ grandmother had told Eve that Lucas was in Vermont, so his penthouse would be empty. Neither was true making for an unconventionally jarring initial meeting and a scene you won’t soon forget!
This is the first holiday season since Eva and her two best friends had set up Urban Genie, an event and concierge business, and they were busy. Eva has been hired by Lucas’ grandmother to add Christmas cheer to Lucas’ digs and fill up his freezer with delicious quick meals. What Eve hadn’t planned on was an apartment inhabited by a suspicious and despondent client.
Oh my! These two came across as genuine characters but as different as could be. Eva is unfiltered with a sparkly personality and Lucas doesn’t know what to make of her. Lucas grudgingly finds that she feeds his imagination, breaking the writing bottleneck he’d been suffering from. As he surmises that he needs her to stick around to feed his muse, their unlikely friendship grows. Eva begins to think of happy-ever-afters, but Lucas knows fairy tale endings don’t exist. At times I wanted to shake Lucas and other times I wanted to ask Eva what she was thinking – or, if she was thinking. Their banter was priceless, their chemistry was off the charts and I thoroughly enjoyed their story.
This book is literally teeming with favorite quotes. Following please find a small sampling of my favorite quotes from Miracle on 5th Avenue:
“Fake? Who said anything about fake? I don’t do ‘fake,’ Mr. Blade. I don’t do fake Christmas trees, fake handbags, or fake orgasms.”
---
“I’m not what you might call a mystery. I’m pretty much an open book – Jake says I’m an audio book, because everything I’m thinking comes out of my mouth.”
---
“I want sex. What do you want?”
He cursed under his breath. “We are coming at this from a different place.”
“As long as we’re coming, it doesn’t matter.”
I love to read festive reads year-round. This book is set in New York City during the holiday season so there’s oodles of snow and dreamy descriptions of the Big Apple during Christmas. Miracle on 5th Avenue is a feel-good holiday read loaded with laughs. This installment is well-written, entertaining, and kept me turning the pages well into the early morning hours when I should have been asleep. LOL! I will never look at Cinderella’s fairytale again without thinking of the contrary perspectives shared in this tale. I would recommend Miracle on 5th Avenue to anyone who enjoys slow-building, delightful Christmas romances.

I tried for months to finish this, but just couldn't do it. The main character was so utterly obnoxious and immature that I gave up.

This book is everything and more. I've been reading a Sarah Morgan book ever since I stumbled upon her "Sunset in Central Park". The thing I like most about this book is that it is a standalone but it is also a part of a series. I'm not the biggest fan of contemporaries, let alone adult contemporaries but this truly proves me otherwise. The plot makes you feel like you're a part of the story because the emotions of the characters translate well to the words written in this book. Love, friendship, family, life and self-discovery are all present in the plot. Highly recommending this to anyone who loves to read contemporary or any other genre. It would surely get you out of a reading slump!

Eva's story did not disappoint!
After hearing/reading so much about Lucas Blade in the previous books I was really looking forward to this one.
I will admit going into this one. I haven't been a huge Eva fan. I felt in previous ones she was a bit too sappy and cried a lot. However reading this, I saw a completely different side to her. She was sappy but she was stronger and smarter than given credit for.
Lucas Blade was a bit more of a complicated character. I found him fascinating, I think because of being a crime writer.
For me, their chemistry wasn't quite on par with Frankie and Matt in the beginning, but as the book gets going you start to feel it more between the two of them.
Again, I guessed correctly the issue between Lucas and his wife. To be honest, these books follow a formula, so it's not hard to guess correctly :) It doesn't mean the story sucks though.
Even though these characters were pretty much opposites attract, they just worked together. I love the fact that the Lucas tried to write her a romance at the end and the fact it fell very short made me love it even more.
As said in my previous review of the previous book.
With Sarah Morgan's books though, it isn't just the main characters from the story you're reading, its the other secondary characters that make the books as good as they are. I love the friendship that the three girls have. They help the book overall and you find yourself getting invested in all of their relationships and wanting the best for them all.
I think overall this one was a brilliant conclusion to the series. Well not a conclusion because there is another book. But I think it rounded up the girls' stories nicely. It will be fab to see them again in the next one, knowing that they're all happy and in love.

A sweet, often funny, and ultimately heart-warming holiday feast for the soul. I LOVED everything about it and can't wait to read more from this author.
