I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

This is a gorgeous rendition for meditations, awareness and devotion during the Advent season. Each days started with songs and passages to help you feel inspired by people and acts from the Bible. Some of them weren't entirely familiar and I love getting to look up them during my day.

This whole thing did a good job of making it easier to relate your life to the passing of Advent and the important movements within it.

I tried to read this book but was so thrown off by the formatting that I couldn't enjoy it.

This short book offers twenty-eight devotions to help prepare the heart to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. It focuses each day on one verse from an Advent song, with Scripture and some background from the Bible and history, along with personal application. Some hymns are familiar, like “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. Others were new to me, such as “I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light.” The thoughts offer good material for meditation. This is one I will return to year after year.
