I Haven't managed to open this file yet, I will persevere, and hope to be able to give feedback later.

I have now managed to open the file here is my updated review;
This beautiful book is a gem for anyone interested in embroidery. Not only instructional it also has some botanical photographs and information, plus the embroidery patterns.

I think you need to be a fairly proficient embroiderer, this book is not really for the beginner, but is certainly aspirational for anyone. I would really like to try some of the designs, and I particularly like the fact that there are some little insects to embroider too.

There are also some natural source material photographs too which are also lovely, placed on black backgrounds, the colours really stand out and you could use those to try your own sketches.

The book is laid out with the finished embroideries first followed by patterns at the end, the advice on the making of your work, including some useful notes and a section on stitches used, including thread colours used are detailed for you in the middle between the two.

Definitely an inspiring book to have in your collection.

I'm self taught when it comes to embroidery and I love it.

This is a great book for more advanced embroiders. The designs are gorgeous and the instructions are very detailed. It even includes a guide on how to do the stitches used in this book and the types of fabric/thread the author recommends to use.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the finished images came before the instructions. It would have been better, in my opinion, to have included the instructions with each finished image. Also, there were no project ideas included in this book, which I would have liked.

A gorgeous book of embroidery with incredible detail that mirrors the kinds of botanical illustrations you might find in a text book or field guide. From bulbs to roots to the actual blooms, no detail is overlooked, and the finished products are stunning. Instructions are similarly thorough, laying out the kinds of stitches to be used and the order in which to complete each design, with tips for getting the best and smoothest results. A very fine book for advanced embroiderers; I only deducted a star because I would have liked to have seen some project ideas for inspiration.

A lovely collection of embroidery patterns for garden flowers. I have been particularly wanting flower motifs to sew onto an army jacket and these are perfect. Small and delicate and detailed, from a careful observer of the natural world. Recommend!

Lovely pictures of both real flowers and the embroidered versions with details to follow later in the book on how to go about embroidering them. The author breaks the techniques down and includes the best stitches to use for achieving certain affects, what areas to start with first when embroidering, and even discusses needle size relative to floss/thread thickness. I have been embroidering for a long time but am mostly self taught so, although I am not a beginner, I really picked up a lot of tips from this book. I also just really enjoyed the lovely photographs of different embroidered flowers.

This is a lovely needlecraft book with advice on how to draw flowers with colored threads, in embroidery. It is loaded with full color pictures that show what can be accomplished with a few well-chosen stitches.

Hints are given about how to keep the shapes and colors in the artist's eye so that the image can be closely depicted in the stitches. About halfway through the book, instructions are given for how to embroider the beautiful flowers. Materials, stitches, everything you need is covered. Even the color numbers for DMC embroidery silks is included.

Detailed instructions are laid out for the specific flower designs in the pictures, but the reader is encouraged to use the same methods for embroidering flower designs from their own gardens or a field guide. There isn't a lot of text, but the little there is explains everything you need to know!

Overall an excellent tutorial on making these lovely designs.

This book is intended for crafters who already have experience with embroidery. The skills of the author are amazing, and luckily the instructions on how to create the flowers yourself are clear.

This is a lovely book for the embroiderer in you! It has full color photos of the embroidered flowers as well as careful and specific instructions on materials and stitches. I love the effort to be botanically accurate. I have a piece I am making where the owner requested floral embellishments. This book is the perfect guide to creating beautiful yet realistic floral embroidery.

Beautiful book. Great photos and detailed information about the basics of embroidery. So many flowers with excellent detail. I like the way that the patterns are given, with a picture of the flower and the type of stitch near each area. The thing I would change is to have the picture of the embroidered flower next to the pattern so that you don’t have to flip back and forth.

An absolutely gorgeous guide for embroidering flowers! I wish I could embroider this well - I'd embroider every stitch of clothing I own with flowers. Embroidering can be soothing, but whenever I try it, my stitches never turn out so even and consistent as Kazuko Aoki's have. Highly recommend to anyone interested in embroidery.

I absolutely LOVED this book! I have just recently started embroidering and this was a perfect book. It is informative and inspiring, which as someone who is learning the craft, it is really beneficial. The cover is also just stunningly simply and pretty. I have a friend who is an avid cross stitch and embroidery fanatic, and I will be encouraging her to check this book out!
