I am reviewing a copy of Dog Tags through Pelican Book Group and Netgalley:

Mark Graham is a thirty one year old disabled ex-marine who teaches History of Civilizations at Riversdale Community College. He heads home to his dog sparky, but no wife, no children. He's alone. Ten years prior he had been a marine.

He finds himself introducing himself to a young woman one day, to find out it was a girl, now women he once knew.

Someone is trying to frame Mark for armed robbbery, trying to divert attention from himself.

Beth keeps getting Love notes from a stalker who calls himself White Knight. He is so obsessed with Beth he is willing to hurt anyone who gets in his way especially Mark.

The Knight as he calls himself tries to get everyone to believe that Mark is lying, that he is only out to hurt Beth.

Will the Knight succeed in his plan to hurt Mark or worse?

I give Dog Tags five out of five stars.

All in all I liked the way affections and love were handled in this story and I liked the characters too, although I felt they kept their secrets for too long, while hinting (and whining) so often about them that it became a bit irksome.
I had some trouble keeping engaged in the story and I think that has to do with the writing style, too descriptive, sometimes giving details of trivial actions in a sequential order, and becoming bland.
In the end, the thriller plot felt a little far-fetched, like it was drawn out mostly to make the hero’s quest more visible.
There were some things that left me wondering: the age difference between hero/heroine (five years) sometimes treated as a potential hindrance; and the hero’s condition and its sudden resolution - I thought that would benefit with a lot more explanation and development.

Overall I liked this book. and the creepy stalker had me guessing who it was. It threw me though with the wheelchair issue, and wish more would have been explained about that. Also, more details on how the three men at the bait shop are connected would also make a stronger impact. Minor, but had me trying to figure out the connection. Would recommend, and the mystery is well done. Good read.

Dog Tags is a well written Christian romance/suspense. This book has a great plot and the characters are well developed. The author is new to me but I look forward to reading more of her Work

This isn't my typical genre. I'm don't read much suspense romance, but the plot intrigued me. I'm glad I picked it up, because it was a fast, enjoyable read. I liked both the characters of Beth and Mark, as well as the secondary characters (though I wish we could have seen a bit more of Beth's friends).

I felt their romance was naturally developed, and I got a chuckle every time Beth would tease Martin about being old (my friends and I do that to each other now that we're in our thirties as well). Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was that both characters kept secrets when I don't think they really had to. It was a bit frustrating that they just wouldn't talk about them. But I suppose that's true of real life, so it's not so much a negative as a personal disappointment.

I also wish the Knight had been explored a bit more. While we had several chapters from his point of view and we did know his motivation, I was left wondering about his past victim and who she was and how she was killed. Regardless, his motivation for stalking was different than I expected, and I found it interesting.

I really did enjoy this book, and I'd love to read more by this author.

Dog Tags by Heidi Glick is the story of combat veteran Mark Graham who now teaches at a local community college and co-owns a bait shop. In this story, his path crosses with Beth Martindale, the younger sister of his deceased comrade. Mark tries his best to stay away from Beth for many reasons, but he quickly becomes involved in protecting her from a serial killer that has her as his next target. Dog Tags is a well told story of loss and regrets and its plot moves quickly to an exciting conclusion. I would recommend this as a fun beach read. It was well worth reading, although somewhat predictable. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

It was a inspiring thriller about 2 people who unknowingly need each other.
