I am reviewing a copy of. The Faith to Flourish: God’s Design for a Rooted, Resilient and Fruitful Life through Nelson Books and Netgalley:
Using from the powerful symbolism of the olive tree in Psalm 52:8, bestselling author Christine Caine reveals how to flourish in every season no matter what comes your way.
When darkness surrounds us, chaos, division, disasters, wars, it’s easy to allow us to become overwhelmed by our circumstances. Just when you think you’ve found a moment of calm, another storm arises in the world, in our homes, or even in our own hearts.
Like the Olive Tree we were created to stand strong, grow resilient, and produce spiritual fruit. God created you with a powerful purpose and destiny for your life, not just to survive.
Christine Caine unpacks the deep biblical symbolism of the ancient olive tree in Psalm 52:8, revealing how you can develop deep spiritual roots that anchor you in God’s truth; break free from spiritual weariness and step into renewed strength and purpose; cultivate inner peace and joy through intentional mindset shifts; foster reconciliation and build stronger, more fulfilling relationships; and embrace God’s design for your life and bear fruit that impacts others.
I give The Faith to Flourish five out of five stars!
Happy Reading!

Christine Caine, beloved activist, speaker, and author, is back with a new book for 2026. I have never read one of her books before and even though the book is passionate in nature, I missed the passion that is conveyed when she is speaking. I had to just start reading it “in her voice”.

Christine starts out by looking at the life of an olive tree and comparing it to our lives (backed by many scriptures doing the same). She addresses such things as abiding in Christ, growing slowly and consistently, and giving ourselves over to a life controlled by the Holy Spirit.

Sound teaching filled with wisdom and experience makes for a compelling read. A couple of chapters that stood out to me were about going through the press and pruning. Many teachers that are Pentecostal in their roots tend to lean towards the Word of Faith movement and make it seem that if you are living a life pleasing to God, that you will stop having problems or never truly go through tough times. Christine hits the point home of how these times are worked to the good of God.

I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.

This was my first book by this author, but I could feel her passion and zeal for the things she writes about. It was easy to read but full of Biblical truth and encouragement.

In "The Faith to Flourish,” the author, Christine Caine, uses the metaphor of an olive tree, her life experiences, and the Bible to guide people on how they might not only survive hard times but also flourish during them.

I found the book was one that took time to read. To process the points that Caine made and to think about how I might apply the instruction to my own life. She covers being rooted and how the olive tree has a dual root system, and how that can enable the tree to thrive for hundreds and even thousands of years, regardless of trials and unfavorable circumstances. While we might not live as long, being rooted in Jesus can enable us to weather the storms of life. The root system will provide the tree with nourishment, enabling it to grow steadily. We too can grow steadily and shouldn’t try to rush it. Caine shares personal stories that help illustrate many of her points.

Unfortunately, the chapter on pruning was timely and highly applicable. This was the second-to-last chapter, and she wrote about how the olive tree gets pruned back fairly aggressively for it to produce fruit in the next growing cycle, but doing so actually hurts the tree. This causes it to start producing cells and growing where it has been cut. Similarly, in our lives, we will have losses that will hurt but could lead to positive growth and greater fruit. I have already recommended it to a person, as we were discussing a significant act of pruning that affected many people we care about, as well as both of us. It has helped with perspective.

The book is structured in such a way that it could be a devotional or group study. At the end of each chapter, there are summary points and thoughtful questions.

I want to thank NetGalley and Nelson Books for an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for this review.
