The Sound of Music is one of my favourite musicals. As I read this book, I sang the song rather than read the words. My grandson (3 years old) kept stopping me to look at the pictures and talk about the illustrations. My granddaughter (1 year old) was dancing to the music and was not happy when I stopped. What a great way to teach these songs to little ones. The illustrations are large, very colourful and happy. I can see myself reading/singing this one over and over to the grandchildren. This can also start a discussion of favourite things and why as well as drawing your own favourite things and even making your own book. A great book for an early music class or a family library. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via netgalley.

A perfect gift for any theater lover in your life no matter their age. I'm lucky enough to have toddlers right now. Even if I didn't I know I would be heading out and buying copies of my favorite songs in book form. The illustrations are just beautiful and my theater obsessed teens are hoping to see more songs in this series of books.

This book is full or colour and joy and is a wonderful introduction to musicals for young children. The words are spread through the pages and I found myself singing the story rather than reading it. I do not believe that this matters however, given that it is a song and is all an introduction to literacy no matter how it is read.

The illustrations are void of intricate details but still have fun finds to make the story/song interesting. This book could easily be read to your baby or older child.

This beautiful book will be well loved, especially by lovers of the Sound of Music,

This was a very cute book. It is the song My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music. It had vibrant colors and adorable illistrations. I also liked that they included some brief information about the Von Trapps in the back of the book. I would recommend this for babies. It is scheduled to be released September 19, 2017. It would make a great christmas present for the little ones in your life. I recieved a copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for a review.

The song My Favorite things has added illustrations to the lyrics. These are a perfect combination. The style or art, and each picture is a perfect match.

I love the idea of these books - well-known musical songs illustrated in a brilliant way. You cannot help but sing these books aloud! The pages are absolutely crammed with colour, with effective use of large white spaces and equally large and clear text. The illustrations are lovely and sweet. You won't be able to help but read this over and over again!

I'm not really very fond of "The Sound of Music", but I can see this book being fairly popular in the library. It would be fun to sing to your kids. Kids who like the Small World ride at Disneyland will like the illustrations.

The Sound of Music is one of the most beloved musicals and movies of all time. You probably know most of the words to "My Favorite Things." Those who love the musical and the song will enjoy passing it along to their children in this new children's book illustrated by Daniel Roode. Broadway Baby: My Favorite Things puts the lyrics of the wonderful song into storybook form, with colorful pictures.

Even without the context of the musical, it's a wonderful, happy book. The pictures themselves don't recall the movie, really. The kids aren't so much Von Trapp as they are "It's a small world after all." (I don't mean that as a criticism, but as an observation.) This is such a fun way to introduce children to a classic movie. I defy you to read it to your kids without singing along!
