42 Days to a More Powerful Prayer Life a great book for someone who wants to learn how to get a prayer life, someone who wants to strengthen their prayer life and basically just anyone who wants to build up their prayer life. The author starts off telling you about the book and the goal and what you will be doing, then they start you at the very basic ground-level prayer instruction. The author tells you your first week with Sunday morning, having you pray for specific things and they explain why with Scripture and that is very important to me because when I was younger my father told me one important thing that someone is teaching you something no matter who it is you always get them to back it up with Scripture always and with this author they do that and that's important to me. Then the author has you pray at noon and tells you why and praise with you and assigns who to pray for then you have your evening prayer just like the other two. After that the author gives you a challenge and then reflection, this book grows gradually and you learn a great deal. If you feel like you would like to know more on how to strengthen your prayer life or just learn how to pray period this is your book.

This is a powerful book for any one that is looking for guidance on how to pray, when to pray, etc. It is also a good book for anyone that needs help in their praying life. Sometimes, we may have quesitons about prayer and this book is a good guide on possibly helping you resolve the questions you may have. You will also benefit from having a journal as the author suggests. Outstanding book. Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.

This devotional book is set up with 6 weeks of prayer times that have a focus a week that builds each day. First, you start with praying for others, then yourself, for God’s will, during hard times, hearing from God, and more and more on prayer. Each day is set up with praying 3 different times with thoughts that go along with it to guide you. I felt that the challenges that the author puts out are basic but thought-provoking, based on Scripture, and in need of the Holy Spirit’s power to follow through on. All I needed was a journal and time before the throne and I was on my way to see what God wanted to say and is still saying.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book would make a great guide for cultivating a daily prayer habit. After 42 days, if we follow consistently, the habit should have taken!
I like that we do not only get sample prayers to pray through but we are also encouraged to examine ourselves in the light of the bible, reflect about prayer, and also grow in our faith.
A couple of things that I was not entirely satisfied with is that there is little on praying back Scripture to God and also I expected more on how to praise and glorify him in our prayers.
However, I am still planning on going through this book slowly as I am sure it will be beneficial.
