Description

When seventeen-year-old Navigator Calliope Jones and her robot World Diver leap into a whirlpool gateway to escape her nemesis, Shadowmancer Nathaniel Ormonde, she has no idea the world she discovers on the other side will be just as deadly as her enemy.

Nebelwald is a land full of skyscraper-sized trees, man-eating monsters lurking through the forest, and mysterious, swirling Mist, a dangerous fog that swallows everything it touches. Just when it seems like she might be out of luck and lost for good, Callie meets a new friend, Soren Rykerson, a young Guide harboring secrets of his own.

Can Callie and Soren beat Nathaniel in the race against time to find Nebelwald’s hidden thread of light, before he hunts her down a second time? Will she ever find a Seer, the only person who can help her and the World Diver make their way home? Or will she be stranded forever, surrounded by Mist, monsters, and small-town intrigue rivaling her worst high school drama?

When seventeen-year-old Navigator Calliope Jones and her robot World Diver leap into a whirlpool gateway to escape her nemesis, Shadowmancer Nathaniel Ormonde, she has no idea the world she discovers...

After fleeing from her nemesis Nathaniel Ormonde, Callie travels to a world called Nebelwald in search of hidden journal and thread of light. Lost in the mist and attacked by a monster, Callie is rescued by Soren Rykerson, a guide apprentice. Soren takes her into the city for shelter but her appearance and strange ways place her in danger from some of the town’s people. Soren offers to help Callie find the lost articles and a way home in spite of the danger and they quickly find themselves drawn to each other. Callie must find the missing articles and locate a Seer who can help her navigate home before Nathaniel finds her or she becomes a pawn in her enemies plan for power.

This is the second novel in the Calliope Jones series and it was a fantastic journey into a world of mist and monsters. This was such a fun teen novel with adventure and romance and typical high school drama. I really enjoyed the story line and would recommend this one for the younger end of the YA genre.

Calliope Jones & The Forests of Mist was another exciting, page-turner. This is the second novel in the Calliope Jones series and it was a fantastic journey into a world of mist and monsters that has action and suspense. Hard to believe but this author has, once again, written a page turner!!! I loved her first book, Calliope Jones and the Last World Diver, but this was even better! Even though I’m no youngster, I had a hard time putting it down cause I love the way she writes. Chapter One grabs your interest immediately and she flawlessly blends enough background from the previous book to the new story. The story flows so smoothly and I also love the way she makes you feel like you know the characters and even feel their different emotions. Definitely a five star book. Can’t wait for the next in this series!

I hadn't read the previous novel in the Calliope Jones series, but the sheer wondrous level of the imagination from the author is absolutely going to have me going back to find it.

The towering trees and misty landscapes of the world we find ourselves following the protagonist into were simply spectacular. And I loved the robot!

Absolutely loved the world that this book took place in, which is not to take away from the story - that was very well done too. But the world just took my breath away.
