I picked up Not Your Average Cup of Joe because of all the good reviews I read. The reviews are well-deserved. This book is interesting, bordering on inspiring and the writer’s style is engaging. The focus always remains on the positive and the author places the responsibility for one’s successes fully on one’s shoulders, thereby hitting home a crucial message. We can’t get stuck in our past or present negative circumstances. We must continue to positively strive with purposeful actions and intentions. The author provides a very practical framework to rise above being “average.” He avoids being preachy or impractical. For that reason, I give this book 5 stars.

Inspiring and motivating, the writer uses his own life as an example of how to triumph over adversity and achieve great things. I enjoyed this book very much - from the authentic tone to the very readable style and inspiring content - and would not hesitate to recommend it highly.
