Description

A WASHINGTON POST BESTSELLER

Popular food blogger and TODAY food contributor Siri Daly shares her
collection of cooking triumphs and mistakes, and delicious recipes for people who love food.

Like many of us trying to feed our families, Siri Daly is a very busy cook. As a mother of three under the age of 10, TODAY food contributor, and wife of a bicoastal traveling man, Carson Daly ("The Voice" host and TODAY show co-host), Siri often doesn’t know which end is up. Siri is not a serious cook, but she is serious about her food—and what she serves her family, friends and loved ones. Siriously Delicious is organized by how a busy mom gets through her day—breakfast, lunch, happy hour (her favorite!), dinner with sides, and dessert. Siri’s recipes are created with three goals in mind: to create food that is delicious and satisfying for both kids and adults, to prepare dishes packed with traditionally comforting flavors and ingredients (think cheese, avocado, chocolate!), and to make each recipe approachable for even a novice cook—no trips to specialty food stores are required.

Whether you’re looking for easy-to-cook recipes your kids will devour, such as mouth-watering Bacon Pizzadillas, or you’re dying to relax with a Spicy Grapefruit Cocktail when the days feel too long, this cookbook has a recipe for every occasion. Siri also includes extra tips to make your time in the kitchen easier: Siriously Simple offers a hack or time-saving tip, Siriously Sinful details how to make something even more indulgent, Siriously Nutritious explains how to make something healthier, and Siriously Mini advises how to satisfy the kiddos. Filled with Siri’s often hilarious anecdotes, Siriously Delicious will not only feed your family’s bellies but hopefully deliver a belly laugh along the way.

4 foodie stars to Siriously Delicious! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Siri Daly is a food blogger, contributor to the Today show, busy mom, and wife to Carson Daly. She developed this cookbook in order to present nutritious recipes, with foods you already have in your pantry, that will be universally enjoyed by parents and kids alike. I think she accomplished that with this effort.

My cookbook friends will adore the colorful, artistic photographs of every recipe. Everything looks and sounds delicious. The ingredient lists are not overly long. The steps to the recipes are also simple. She has recipes that use packaged/processed foods and others that are more whole foods-based. Many of her meal ideas, though simple, are perfect for entertaining. Two things I am eager to make are the Chickpea Burgers and the Buddha Bowls (both have chickpeas!).

I loved how she included tips for involving the kids in cooking some recipes, as well as time-saving tips, like making extras of certain items to make another recipe.

Overall, this is a fun and approachable cookbook that offers many joy-filled, wholesome recipes for busy families.

Siriously Delicious will be published on April 17, 2018. Thank you to Siri Daly, Oxmoor House, and Netgalley for the complimentary copy.

I am buying this book for everyone on my Christmas list! I thoroughly enjoyed reading through the recipes, looking at the beautiful photos and just learning new things. I have been a fan of Siri Daly from the Today Show so I was looking forward to buying this book. I am so lucky to have been given an ARC to preview! Looking forward to trying her Mom’s Rhubarb Crisp, the Peanut Butter-Banana Cream Pie plus many others. These are recipes anyone can make you don’t have to be a trained chef. I am sure we will be reading more by Siri in the future!

I received a free e-copy of Siriously Delicious: 100 Nutritious (and Not so Nutritious) Simple Recipes for the Real Home Cook from NetGalley for my review.

A beautifully written cookbook with wonderful stories, beautifully vivid pictures, easy to follow instructions and amazing recipes. Every section and every page had clear direction. This is an everyday kind of cookbook with absolutely everything you could want in it. Some of my favorite recipes being Chorizo Hash Breakfast Burritos, Spinach, Chickpea, and Tomato Frittata, Spiced Pumpkin Pancakes with Vanilla Whipped cream (OMG!), Italian Orecchiette Pasta Salad, Buddha Bowls, Bacon Pizzadillas, Easy Edamame Hummus and Buffalo Chicken Meatballs. I'm hungry just thinking about all this food.

Starting at the beginning, with the introduction, the first thing I noticed was how funny, and full of life author Siri Daly is. For me, starting any book off with a laugh is a good thing. Yes, even a cookbook. The second thing I saw is how much Ms. Daly loves her family. She includes them in this book every chance she can through stories, and photos.

Did someone mention photos? Anyone who has read my cookbook reviews know that the lack of photos in a cookbook is a big pet peeve of mine. So, a big thank you to the author for including photos of all the dishes!

Siri Daly has packed the pages of SIRIOUSLY DELICIOUS with a lot of healthy recipes that sound and look fantastic. That’s a big statement for me to make because healthy eating isn’t my thing. I’m eating potato chips as I write this review. Luckily for me, she’s included some recipes that aren’t as healthy too.

Here’s a sampling of some of the tasty treat you’ll find. Chorizo Hash Breakfast Burritos, Egg-in-Hole Avocado Toast, Dark Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding, Italian Orecchiette Pasta Salad, Crab-and-Corn Chowder, Grilled Cheese Roll-Up Dippers, Chickpea Burgers, Summer White Peach Sangria, Mojito Mule, Spinach Balls, Smashed Pea and Ricotta Toast, Pan-Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Rainbow Potato Salad with Crispy Shallots, Cookie Butter Truffles, Angel Food Cake with Vanilla Strawberries, and so many more!
A lovely cookbook with a great variety of recipes, SIRIOUSLY DELISHOUS is seriously delightful.

I received an ARC copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Siri Daly's new cookbook Siriously Delicious. It is loaded with creative and easy recipes that the whole family will enjoy. Each recipe has simple instructions to follow with side notes with tips for making each one more kid friendly or elevating them for a more adult palate. While the dishes are simple they are by no means boring or bland. The pictures are vibrant, stunning and of course appetizing. I have already made a handful of the dishes and they were very tasty and super easy to make. I highly recommend adding this to your cookbook collection.

Siri Daly is well known in the blogosphere, as well as her regular appearances on The Today Show. What started out as a simple way to keep a collection of her recipes has turned into Siri's first ever cookbook. Siri is witty and funny, and she provides practical tips for cooks of any level. Most recipes contain variations, adaptations, or important points. These are found in boxes labelled "Siriously Simple", "Siriously Fancy", "Siriously Nutritious", "Siriously Sinful", "Siriously Varied", "Siriously Important", "Siriously Spicy", or "Siriously Mini".

This cookbook is packed with 100 innovative and delicious recipes. The ingredients are mostly simple and easy to find.

The recipes are divided into six chapters:
1. Wakey wakey
2. Halftime
3. It's Five O'clock Somewhere
4. Time for Dinner
5. Sidekicks
6. Sweet Treats

There is also an alphabetized index at the end of the book to help you quickly find your favorites.

I would recommend this cookbook to anyone looking for easy, fun, and delicious recipes the whole family will enjoy. I received this as a free ARC from Time Inc. Books, Oxmoor House on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

If you want a recipe book that is packed with delicious healthy (and not so healthy) recipes that are packed with flavor, this is the book for you.  It's family friendly, and includes plenty of recipes for the various diets and lifestyles out there.  If you are a foodie (like me), you will be happy with how every single dish is bursting with flavor.

The majority of the recipes are very simple to make, but more importantly, it is designed to cater to what you have in your home.   So many of the ingredients can be swapped out for like ingredients, which means you do not have to adhere 100% to the recipe.  Siri had that in mind when she put this cookbook together, because when you have a family of 5 waiting for dinner, you can't always drop everything to run out and get a missing ingredient.  She gives you a guidebook on how to create each dish, but knows you may need to work with what you've got.

Popular food blogger, Siri Daly, (Siriously Delicious) is the author of Siriously Delicious: 100 Nutritious (and Not So Nutritious) Simple Recipes for the Real Home Cook. This cookbook follows current trends, featuring recipes that are not only simple, but also for dishes that both children and adults actually want to eat.

One of the things that makes this cookbook appealing is that the author includes stories and vignettes – many humorous - that bring out her cute personality, and that readers can relate to. So, besides excellent recipes, this cookbook is an entertaining read. The photographs are beautiful and mouthwatering, and most cooks will want to try almost everything in the book. There is something for everyone here – vegetarian, chicken, beef, lamb, pork, side dishes, cookies, kid-friendly, etc. Avocado toast is trendy, and Siri adds an egg-in-a-hole to the toast – very appealing. The Quick Chicken Masala is delicious, as is the Manchego Summer Squash Gratin. At our house, the Cheesy Green Rice Casserole was a hit; it is perfect to serve with grilled or pan-fried meats and poultry and is one easy dish that will become a go-to.

The recipes are written in such a way that they are easy to follow and they turn out picture perfect. Both beginning and experienced cooks will enjoy making these recipes, and many are suitable for kids to help.

This is a fun cookbook to have on the shelf, and there are enough recipes to keep cooks busy for dozens of meals. It is highly recommended.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
