I think Wild World of Animal Colors by Laura Purdie Salas is a must-have nonfiction piece for preschoolers! I absolutely love the beautiful colorful photographs. I strongly believe nonfiction texts should include photographs over illustrations. The text is appropriate for young learners and is interactive as well. The nonfiction features, which include index, references and glossary, make me so excited to share with my preschool science students - they are old enough to start to notice the big, bold words and answer the questions that lead to new questions. This story will help my students understand the different reasons why animals have such beautiful colors and would be an excellent introduction to my animal adaptations unit (including topics like camouflage and predator versus prey). Thank you to the publisher, author, and #NetGalley for the opportunity to preview #CrayolaWildWorldOfAnimalColors
