Description
Fugue takes a satirical look at men, women, and their relationships in the city of Cleveland. This comedy is the story of Lina, a young bride betrayed by Joe, her groom, on the altar, ruining their wedding. As she runs from the church, Lina falls and hits her head, waking up fine except that she no longer remembers Joe. Lina has a unique opportunity to start over, but it's not that simple. There were deeper problems than what happened on the altar.
She can't start over until she solves them. And Joe has a few problems of his own, starting with trying to win back Lina before she remembers what he did. To do that, he'll have to figure out why he would ruin the best thing he ever had.

I never thought I'd like a satirical book, mostly because I'm too daft and don't pick up on stuff if I'm bored. Hmm, I was wrong. This was a pretty decent book.
It took a while for my brain to process the stuff that was happening. The characters were so annoying, especially Joe. It was only towards the end that I realised that the author meant to convey exactly that (oops my bad).
The only other satire I've come across in literature is in the form of poetry, and that was also because it was a part of my English curriculum in school. This was the first time I actually read proper prose which dealt with satire and I'm honestly surprised that I liked it. Weddings, relationships, exes and the thinking of men and women are dissected here and I'm here for that.
If you're someone into satirical and humourous books then this is great. For me I believe it was a one time thing, but nevertheless I don't regret reading it. Cheers
I truly liked this story about a guy, Joe, working to get back the girl, Lena, he lost after a disastrous almost wedding. Joe and Lena are moments from saying “I Do” when a completely ugly, oh my gosh, no way event caused Lena to turn and run from the altar. She trips, hits her head and forgets all about her wedding to and love for Joe.
Actually, it is good to have happened because both Joe and Lena have things they need to do for themselves-things that they would not have realized without the failed wedding. These are big things: grow up, get some direction, quit floundering through life. It reads as a totally relatable work in today’s world.
