I loved this, so highly recommended.

This is something that everyone should read at some point in their lives, in my opinion, it's something that everyone can relate too.

This book of poetry is so raw and real and heartbreaking. The pictures are amazing, too. Thanks so much for letting me read and review this one. My favorite poem was The Truth is Born in Strange Places.

This book is full of hauntingly beautiful poems. No matter who reads this book, it feels like it was made for you personally. The poems are lovely and I enjoyed reading them all. The pictures comment to poems nicely as well. I am so happy I came across this wonderful gem.

Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read this poetry collection!

Themes: Love, relationships, grief/death, finding yourself.

What I liked:
-I loved the layout, with a photograph accompanying each poem, it was a unique detail and I liked how the author combined photography and poetry together.
-I liked how the author speaks directly to the reader.

What I didn't like:
-I was expecting something different, these poems mainly focus on relationships and love, maybe I was hoping for something more.
-Towards the middle, the poems started getting very repetitive and I struggled to connect. I couldn't really feel any emotion in the poems.

My favourites:
-The Best Way to Run in Traffic
-The Twins
-The Fur
-The Paint Hides the Brick
-The Children of Time

Overall, I am very glad that I read this collection. Everyone takes away something different from poetry, so if this sounds like something you would enjoy I would definitely recommend giving it a go.

This is book of poetry and photographs pertaining to love, loss, and emotions that can apply to anyone that reads it. I thought the writing was beautiful but couldn't always relate the picture to the message I took away from the words. However the pictures themselves were works of art. It is easy to read through this book too quickly and I found it better to read the poems a few at a time to absorb their specific meaning to me. I don't usually read poetry but this was a lovely introduction to it and I may read more again.

Thanks to NetGalley, Iain S. Thomas and Central Avenue Publishing for a free electronic copy of this poetry.

Even before I saw the ARC of this book, I was already looking for a copy of this in a local bookstore here in the country. But it was always out of stock, hence I never have the chance to check out why there is a lot of good feedback about it. I was so delighted that there's an available reading copy, thus I immediately grab the opportunity to download it.

There are 190 poems and it is divided into four parts: Sun with 24; Moon that contains 47; Stars has 58; and Rain with 61 odes. Among the four section, I like the last because I found a lot of good ones in that portion. Several of the poems that are remarkable for me is The Nature of my Body, The Video on the Way Down, The Trees That Decided Not To Die, and The World Needs More Lighthouses.

Overall, there are 21 poems that I think are quite exceptional from this collection; while some of the odes are okay, there are others that are mediocre. Nevertheless, this a good anthology that will appeal more to young adults.

I love this collection! Great prose, beautiful writing, it's so unfair that poetry can move you with so few words! I love the art too.
Thanks NetGalley for the eARC.

I really enjoyed this book. I related to more of the poems than any other poem collection, I would have loved it in more if the pictures would have shown up for me. I think it would have really enhanced the reading experience. I will definitely check this out when it comes out.

Thank you to Iain S. Thomas, Andrews McMeel Publishing, and NetGalley for allowing me the extreme pleasure of access to an advanced reader copy of “I Wrote This for You” for an honest review.

This collection was gorgeous and there is, indeed, “something magical” about it. The books starts off divided into four chapters, titled Sun, Moon, Stars, and Rain, which absolutely is magical, and got me curious from the get go about getting to last section, given it was the only section not given a solar-typed nomenclature.

I was pulled from the curiosity, not entirely, but most from the moment I started because the words you find yourself in demand all your time, and mind, and heart. These lines feel like they slow slide down your spine, to twine around your heart and remind you exactly how you, too, felt these emotions in similar situations.

I love love love this book! I think it's thought provoking and very personal. I think anything that gets you to think is great and that the author provokes deep thought or emotion with a few sentences is amazing! Will always recommend this author!

What an incredible book! Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT! I love poetry books like this one!

Pay attention to this words: I predict that this book is going to have a huge success, an overwhelming success as Milk and Honey had!

This book will be released in October this year. So first of all I want to thank Andrews McMeel Publishing for giving me this book in advance via netgalley.

The structure of the book consists of a poem always accompanied by a photo, ie. the book joins two things I love: photography and poetry.

This book is divided in four parts: The Sun, The Moon, Stars and The Rain.

Honestly I can not tell you which of my parts was my favorite because I loved them all, but I can leave you here the poem I loved the most!

"It does not count if you believe in yourself when it's easy to believe in yourself it does not count if you believe the world can be a better place when the future looks bright. It does not count if you think you're going to make it when the finish line is right in front of you.

It counts when it's hard to believe in yourself, when it looks like the world's going to end and you've still got a long way to go.

That's when it counts. That's when it matters the most."

I highly recommend this book! It's the best poetry book I've read so far this year!

I recommend it my friends and I know that this book will be a success!

This is one of those books that if I had a physical copy I would put a thousand post-it's and as I had it in ebook I ended up marking a lot of pages and phrases. Seriously, 80% of the pages have something underlined.

lots of love feelings inside. and I love it, pretty much, knowing I have been alone for a while. I've reading lots of book poetry lately, and I wrote this for you has been on top of my list. So yeah, this is my favorite one. :)

ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Oh. My. God. It was so beautiful. I am speechless.
The way the author described sadness, loneliness or love... incredible.
TBH, sometimes, while reading the book, I felt like crying,... i mean, really - this work touched my heart and soul so deeply... I can't even describe how special and unique these poems are.

If you love poetry, I highly recommend reading this wonderful collection.

Gaaaaaah as someone who grew up writing and seeing poetry in everything I ABSOLUTELY ADORE poems and beautiful verses about flowers, life, love, honestly I see poetry in everything.

I absolutely loved this book. And need to add it to my poetry collection.

“Love, at every opportunity you are given. Be less afraid. Embrace each day (none are promised). Cry when you need to, it'll make you feel better. You were put on this planet to feel every feeling you could, do that. Everything works out in the end, I promise.”

This book is unlike any poetry book I had read before. It almost felt too personal. Like I was reading someones journal. While I didn't relate to every one, I remember a time in my life that most fit.
The words flow. They pack a punch and I can read them over and over.

Beautifully written

I Wrote This For You is a poetry collection with beautiful words, photography about love, loss, beginnings and endings. This poetry collection is divided into 4 chapters: Sun, Moon, Stars and Rain.

"I let you know that I won’t love you.
But my heart has no conscience."

I Wrote This For You was such a unique poetry collection to me because on every page there was a picture. Not a drawing or an illustration, but a ‘real’ photo accompanied by a poem and I really like this style. It gave this poetry collection something special!

"Look at you, like a new tattoo. Because I might not always have you, but I’ll have the feeling of you for the rest of my life."

This poetry collection was the first book I’ve read by Iain S. Thomas and I’m definitely looking forward to reading more of his poetry. I loved reading his poems and so many of them were so relatable or just beautiful in general!

After reading the second book (I wrote this for you and only you) I had to read this one! This one is another masterpiece and one of the best poetry books out there. I highly recommend it.
.
However I found the second book even more better, but that doesn't make this one any less good. What I'm saying is if this one is 5/5 the other one (I wrote this for you and only you) was 6/5 for me.
.
The best tip I could give you is to read this book, slowly, a little loudly and let each word sink in for the one of the best reading experience.

I've read some of the poems before, but I could relate to most of the poems featured in this book and I spent a nice, cosy evening reminiscing on my sofa.

I Wrote This for You is the 3rd book I've read by Iain S. Thomas and with each one, my admiration for him and his talent grows. This is a man who unashamedly allows himself to feel and acknowledge the wide spectrum of human emotions, puts them into words beautifully, and shares them with the world. His work is so very relatable that it's difficult to not see yourself in the pages of his books. I love the universality of his works. Another 5-star rating from me

Many thanks to NetGalley and Andrew McMeel Publishing for allowing me to read an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are my own.

“I need you to understand something. I wrote this for you. I wrote this for you and only you. Everyone else who reads it, doesn’t get it. They may think they get it, but they don’t. This is the sign you’ve been looking for. You were meant to read these words.”

This book was incredible from start to finish. Iain S. Thomas has created something so unique and so perfect. Something so simple and unique like this is important.

The entry letter took me away, beautifully crafted and packed full of emotion. Each word crafted so nicely together.

The art work on every single page was incredible and fit the overall theme of the book so well. I loved how simple some of the photographs were, but how they all packed a punch with the storyline.

Iain S. Thomas offered us something different on every page. Readers got stunning art work, incredible emotions, prose, poetry, and fragmented narrative that is all incredibly effective.

This book is a must for anyone interested in Milk & Honey or similar titles. I enjoyed this book and loved feeling the emotion on every single page. Definitely need to pick this book up!

A beautiful series of poems, poem quotes and truths expressed in these words, accompanied by startling photographs which frame and illustrate the writing. A beautiful book in all senses.

I absolutely adored this book, it was so enchantingly heartbreaking. I've been eying this book for a while now, so getting a chance at reading it made my day.

Iain Thomas will not disappoint you. He'll grab your heart by its collar and Shove his poems down your veins. It'll make you cry all the while being entirely enticed by his words.

I don't know what else I can say to give this book more justice.
