Description

This book will help parents and families understand how bad these opioids really are, and what signs to look for. The stigma and preconception of drug abuse is wrong - our kids are very smart and talented, with their whole lives ahead or them.

Our son Aaron James was a beautiful, bright 30 year old with so many dreams, so many desires. He had a wonderful girlfriend, an adorable pooch, and a family that loved him and had such high hopes for him. His friends adored him. He would have had a fantastic life - if not for his accident in January 2014, after which he became addicted to prescription painkillers.

That day was the beginning of the end for not only Aaron, but everyone who loved him. He died unexpectedly to the KILLER FENTANYL. The drugs took over his life; they rewired his brain, they controlled him. They starved his body of nutrition. They changed his personality. They took Aaron's LIFE!If you still think this can't happen to your family - WAKE UP! We thought the same.

When we finally realized what was happening it was too late.some of the proceeds of each book sold will be donated to MSTH momsstoptheharm.com to help them continue their fight against the war on drugs.

The author of this book lost her 30 year old son to drugs. It's obvious that she poured her heart and soul into telling this story. And it had to have been very hard emotionally to write. I hope it helped her grief to write about Aaron and tell us about his life, which shouldn't have ended so young. My thoughts are with her for its a heart breaking story.

* I was provided an ARC to read from the publisher and NetGalley. It was my decision to read and review this book.

Such a heartbreaking story of loss. The author tells us the story of how she has lost her son to drugs.
I cannot imagine what or how she felt while writing this.
It’s a brave, raw and emotional read.

Very honest read about the author's son and his experience with drug addiction and his subsequent death. My condolences to the author and I commend her for sharing this story with such honestly. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book. Although I received the book in this manner, it did not effect my opinion of this book nor my review.

A raw and honest account about how drugs can destroy and devastate a family. Sylvia lost her son Aaron to drugs. Her account and the statistics she gives are heartbreaking. Having been given addictive painkillers for continuing chronic pain I understand how withdrawal feels. There needs to be more awareness about withdrawal and the help that is needed.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.
