Description

In today’s rapidly changing work environment, concerns about AI, robots and the future of work, combined with geopolitical uncertainty and the varying needs of a multigenerational workforce, conversations focus on finding meaning, and working for a purpose-driven organization or leader. As a result, companies such as Unilever, Diageo, Starbucks, Microsoft, and Deloitte have all shifted their focus towards purpose—either through purpose-driven leadership or social impact.
Dr. Jane Horan, an internationally-recognized expert in career transitions, unconscious bias and cross-cultural leadership, knows the struggles individuals face when trying to find purpose in their work. Over the course of her twenty-five-year career, she has listen to stories across cultures, industries and levels, from people transitioning into leadership, others recently returned to work or those who are in-between jobs. In her new book, Now It’s Clear: The Career You Own (Springtime Books), she connects the dots from such stories and shows the visible patterns and themes to find purpose at work, every day.

With insights from business, psychology, philosophy, poetry, and leadership research, Now It’s Clear will show you, step-by-step, how to better understand yourself and your purpose. Whether mid-career professionals to millennials at any stage of their career, it’s an insightful and uplifting guide, filled with creative exercises, reflective questions, and practical tips to reveal the what, why and how of meaningful work.

Now It’s Clear is quite simply a wonderful book, written in an elegant and engaging voice. I found myself captivated by Jane’s story and the lessons she has to impart. I know women around the world will benefit from her wisdom.”–Sally Helgesen, author, Women Women Rise, The Female Vision, The Female Advantage.

What separates this from other career books is the focus on looking within and finding your inner voice. My 25 years of experience in leadership education has taught me the importance of this principle: finding your purpose helps you keep going when the times are tough. I am delighted to see that Dr. Horan has made this clear. Readers will find their true calling and put their careers on the right path with this easy-to-follow book!”– Yoshito Hori, Founder and President, GLOBIS University, No. 1 business school in Japan
