I got the opportunity to read this amazing story through netgalley, (ARC). Being able to read new authors work is awesome. I'm happy to say that I loved this story. It was good, who wouldn't like to travel with a group of friends to another country in hopes to have a hot fling.
Cassie and Scot were meant to be, he's the hot SEXY Scottish guy she taught she wouldn't see again after his time traveling prank. Scot new to well that after that passionate kiss they had he wanted to see her again. All that changes.

This was the first book that I had read by this author! Oh my word did I love this book. I was hooked from the very beginning. I will be reading more from this author! I would give it a 5 star rating.

Getting Hot with the Scot is a cute, lighthearted romance full of laughs and fun. The book follows Cassie and her group of friends, who are taking a trip through Europe. When Cassie encounters Logan in Scotland, she can’t help the attraction that she feels for him. Cassie believes that they can have a fun foreign fling, but somehow it turns into more. Though there is some drama to the story, it doesn’t weigh down the book. Melonie Johnson is a new author to me (thank you NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review), and I found myself really enjoying the writing style. Despite the book’s length, the story moves forward quickly and I had a smile on my face while reading much of the book. I will definitely check out more books by this author in the future, and am looking forward to the next standalone book in this series!

I read the second book in the series before this one, which is a good introduction to the series. Although it gave me a better insight into the characters, it didn't take away anything from the storyline as it is a strong standalone.

There are some strong secondary characters and Logan and Cassie, the main characters shine throughout the book. There are some misunderstandings which get in the way of their romance, but I like their honesty and the way they navigate through their problems to get to where they want to be.

I like the concept of how the friendship and the romance are portrayed. It's a fantastic story which I really enjoyed reading.

Steamy hot fun romance.....and there's a kilt! Life is good. This story is laugh out loud funny. Really enjoyed reading Cassie and Logan's journey. Hoping the friends each get their story.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.

This romance novel hooks you immediately. It is cute and you can feel the chemistry between Logan and Cassie from the beginning. I thought Logan’s “job” was really unique and had me wondering how I would respond if I found myself in the situation Cassie was in. A fun, feel good book coming out just in time for summer travels and pool reads.

I loved the premise of this book. The plot was unique and so fun! Logan Reid was charming, determined and easily misjudged. The hero with a reputation that Cassie had a lot of trouble seeing past. And after their first encounter, I don’t blame her! But their attraction was undeniable from that first moment and neither could fight that.

This is the first story I’ve read from this author and I’m happy to say I’ve discovered a new one for me to stalk! With a writing style full of wit and charm, characters you can instantly connect to (not to mention the hot Scot with an accent) I found Melonie’s work hard to put down.

I just couldn’t put down this story! The story of Cassie and Logan. Cassie is on her dream holiday with friends when she fulfills her mission to have a fling, however, one night was just not enough with the Scot.
I liked how the characters were multi-faceted and it was focused on them. There wasn’t a ton of information on the family or friends to distract from the main storyline. I also liked how both characters were flawed.
I was also satisfied when the story continued after Cassie got back home. I would have been sorely disappointed to have it end in London! It’s neat seeing how regular life is for Cassie and Logan.
Finally the teaser about Bonnie and Theo is making me chomp at the bit for the next book!!

What a wonderful, feel good read! Getting Hot with The Scot by Melonie Johnson. Is a fun-filled, entertaining, witty read that will have you smiling so much your cheeks will ache. The plot is exceptional, and Cassie’s antics are often laugh out loud hilarious, while she pursues the sexy man-in-a-kilt, Logan, to check an item off her bucket list.

This is definite a book I highly recommend, with its well-developed storyline, loveable characters, loads of sexy moments, and an ending that will have you reaching for the tissues while your heart fills with joy. All I need to know now is where I can get my very own Scot!

This was very fun.

Cassie Crow is a straight-laced, driven woman in her normal life who decides that her souvenir from an epic European vacation will be a hot one night stand with a European stranger. Logan Reid is a prank pulling internet sensation looking for legitimacy in the form of a show on the more traditional media standby - television, he just needs one more good gag to seal the deal. When Cassie wanders into Logan's elaborate set up they both end up getting more than the bargained for, but can they handle things when the vacation is over and the cameras are put away?

This was an enjoyable read. I love a well-written Scot and Logan does not disappoint. I thought I might not like him when he first showed up, but he quickly won me over. Cassie is fun and I enjoyed watching her change from Vacation Cassie into a new version of herself when she went back to Regular Cassie, thanks to the experience of her trip and her time with Logan.

I definitely recommend this one.

I LOVED this first in a new series, Sometimes in Love by Melonie Johnson. As it started, I was thinking the sex might be a bit heavy for my liking but as the story progressed, it was perfect. I need to check out Ms. Johnson's backlist but in the meantime, I can't wait to read #2 and #3. Another thing I wanted to mention is that I love the way there is always a remark to define the meaning of the Scottish words. I've found it very irritating to pick up a book by a British author, read a few pages and have no idea what you just read. Kinda like reading a foreign language. Thank you for that, Ms. Johnson. So please pardon me while I go over and request #2.

Thanks to St. Martin's Press, NetGalley and Ms. Johnson for this ARC in return for an honest opinion.

Okay every girl needs a Logan f*cking Reid in their lives. This book started off a wee slow but man did it pick up momentum. Melonie Johnson is a great new author and I’m so glad I’ve found her. She does a wonderful job of drawing you into her works and making you want more.

Fun loving Cassie Crow is a television talk show pop culture reporter. Logan Reid hosts a prankster internet show. Cassie is on a girls trip and stumbles into Logan's show unexpectedly. She has goals for this trip and that includes having a fling. When Logan needs Cassie's agreement to be part of the filming of his show, they find themselves together for more than one evening. Their fling was fun, a little dramatic, and was such an adventure to follow.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the rest of the friends developed and I hope they all get their own stories in the future. This would make a great summer read!

I really enjoyed reading about Cassie and Logan. The way they met was intriguing and funny. These two seem to combust when they are together. This is a fun and sexy read that left me wanting to read more books by this author.

Chicago Cassie was focused on her career, and aspired to breakout from her role as pop-culture commentator to that of a more serious journalist. However, she wanted to shed Chicago Cassie, while vacationing in Europe with her college besties, and allow Vacation Cassie to cut loose, be a little reckless, and find a foreign fling. A wrong turn and a hilarious meet-cute bring Cassie and Logan together, but could this fling turn into more?

I always love, when the hero and heroine begin their pursuit with very clear intentions, but then they change along the way. In Getting Hot with the Scot, Cassie was looking for one night of passion, while Logan was seeking a signature on a release form. At some point in the story, both Cassie and Logan got what they were after, but to my delight, the relationship did not end there. Johnson did a great job getting all the pieces to fall into place, which allowed this romance to continue even when the vacation was over, and I enjoyed getting a front row seat to all the action.

I sort of thought the book would wrap up shortly after Cassie's vacation ended, but the story continued, and allowed Johnson to further develop the characters. We learned more about why they avoided commitments, and we saw them work to overcome the obstacles, which were keeping them from getting their HEA, which I think a lot of readers will appreciate.

This was a fabulous rom-com. It was fun, sexy, witty, and even a little emotional. Johnson assembled a strong cast, and deftly laid the groundwork for subsequent books. I am already looking forward to the next book, after getting to see Bonnie and Theo interact and learning a little about their backgrounds. The conflict was on the weaker side, but I didn't care, because it was so obvious that Cassie and Logan belonged together, and I was rooting for them the entire time.

Other strengths:

• I loved getting to spend time in Scotland, London, and Chicago. We saw a few sights, ate a little local cuisine, and absorbed a bit of the culture.

• The female friendships in this book were fantastic. This group of five became a unit in college, but within the group we had two sets of lifelong besties. Cassie and Bonnie had been friends since the tender age of six - Cassie the Dianna to Bonnie's Anne, and the depth of their was obvious. It's also always fabulous to see a group of women supporting each other.

• There was some fun commentary regarding romance readers, and I liked the way Johnson worked it into the story. Remember: Smart women read romance.

• I loved Logan's family. His mother was a doll, and I adored my visit to his hometown. I am super curious about all the food and traditions they mentioned while we were there too.

Overall: I was thoroughly entertained by this debut, and am so excited that I found a new rom-com series to love. This book had me laughing, swooning, and smiling, and I can't wait to repeat those actions as I enjoy the other Sometimes in Love books.

** I received an ARC of this one through NetGalley and the publishing company for an honest review.**

Fun, is the first word that comes to mind to describe this one. A Scot in a kilt, a pop-culture reporter for a TV talk show and an element of "trying to be serious" only add to the mix that what make this book fun. Cassie, the report is trying to break away from the pop-culture aspect of her career and jump into serious reporting. While Logan, the man in the kilt, is charming and full of hijinks. Once he gets a taste of having Cassie in his life he knows it won't be enough to satisfy himself.

I have never actually read any of Johnson's work before - but I'm now a fan! The story is fun, has heart, and funny. There is a bit of the romantic twist involved but just the right amount..
... and just because I'm an obvious fan of The Little Mermaid (naming my dog Ariel and all), I love the ode to Disney! Disney fan at heart appreciates that one!

An excellent romance story, filled with all the things I want to get my HEA. There's a group of girlfriends traveling across Europe on vacation showcasing some iconic tourist spots as well as out of the way locales all described with rich detail as to give my minds eye a vivid glimpse. There is a devilish Scotsman and a charming Englishman to entertain the ladies on the final leg of their journey. There are steamy smexy times and a real attraction that can't be denied. There's a misunderstanding, there's always a misunderstanding and maybe a bit a soul searching all around. There's a couple of characters to dislike, that's always fun. The story wraps up in spectacular fashion and Bob's your Uncle, I get my HEA.

The story was interesting and flowed so seamlessly I read the whole thing and forgot to eat. Logan and Cassie are a wonderful couple full of sass and witty banter. Cassie's girlfriends are fun and diverse that will hopefully translate to a full series where all the girls get their HEA. I'm already looking forward to Smitten by the Brit already to see what's happening with Bonnie and Theo, the best friends.
