This book was a fun read. It was well crafted and suspenseful. I don’t generally read paranormal thrillers but I was quite drawn to this book after reading it's description and actually enjoyed it. It was quite a page turner and managed to keep my attention to the very end. It is fast-paced and had me guessing ‘til the very end. This book's description made me request it although I was not short of thrillers. I went in with no expectations, but it was a quite nice surprise. It was a solid, entertaining paranormal thriller.
I really liked the pace, it didn't bore me at all. It was nice to try to guess what's happening. The writing was simple, but engaging.
Overall, a very pleasant experience. In its genre, it's a very good option.

Excellent reading material that kept me awake deep into the night. I enjoyed reading every single page. The story was well plotted, it has nice flow and the characters are wonderfully built. I haven't read paranormal for some time and I had nice time with it. I can't wait to read the next book by this author.

Typically, I am wary of fantasy/paranormal books. So, I approached The Legacy with some reluctance. But, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoyed this book quite a bit.
Harry Black is an interesting character. He finds himself the recipient of a curse and a legacy. After spending much of his life rejecting his grandmother and her stories, Harry reluctantly accepts this burden in order remain his grandmother’s heir. From then on, it’s a roller coaster ride, as Harry begins the journey to save the country, claim his inheritance and stay alive all at the same time.
There is plenty of action in The Legacy, the writing is uncomplicated but well-done, the characters are varied and interesting and the plot is solid. It kept my attention to the very end. All in all, I enjoyed this book and it has encouraged me to dip into more fantasy in the future. And, without a doubt, I will be on the lookout for more books by S.P. Brown.

It deserves every star i gave, the story was well constructed, flowed with ease and kept me reading to find out more.
the story had enough information to entertain me and didn't linger on extending the plot, it was fast and to the point.
can't wait for the continuation of it.

I loved the concept of this when I first read the synopsis and requested it on Netgalley. This did not let me down. I did read this back in 20018 and forgot to post my review.
It was a dark paranormal with lots of thrilling aspects in the book. It would love to read again but the only thing about rereads is that you already know what is going to happen so you don't hold your breath because you already know. The fun part of a mystery is not knowing until the end.

I thought this book provided a good read. I was hooked from the start. Absolutely great read with well drawn characters and imaginative storyline.

This was a promising book until the end, when I discovered it was only a prequel. That was annoying. I don't always mind reading prequels, but I do when it's unexpected.
That being said, it is a great premise for what I hope will be a full story with real conclusions. The author is a good writer.
