Description
What if, in the darkest period of your life, you slipped away into a new place, a new identity? What if you were given a chance to start anew, to leave your old life completely behind—would you take it? Meredith’s life has gone shockingly wrong. After a freak accident, the rest of the world believes she’s dead. After she stumbles into a new identity and a new life in a quirky small town in Alaska, a new chapter of her life begins, but she finds it’s not that easy to discard the past. Her friendship with a fiery and temperamental artist and her growing worry for her elderly, cranky landlady pull at the fabric of her carefully guarded secret. A connection with a local fisherman unexpectedly blossoms, and Meredith struggles to find a way to meld her past and present so that she can move into the future she craves. But someone is looking for her, someone who will threaten Meredith’s dream of a reinvented life.

Review "...this was an intriguing book of love and loss mixed with just the right elements of romance and suspense." The Romance Studio
Compass North pulled me in on several levels. The vast beauty of Alaska plays a significant role, always immense and present, lovingly described by the author. The characters, well-drawn, believable and engaging. Most significantly, the novel drew me in from the first chapter when a tragic and traumatic event unexpectedly offers the protagonist, Meredith, a choice—to go back to her life carefully constructed over many years or starting over with a new life, new relationships, and a new identify. However, she learns along the way, you can run, but can’t hide from life as she copes with the consequences of her choices both in the present and from her past. A great read.--Richard Hacker, author of DIE BACK.
