Description

The She Book is a collection of 114 poems, prose, and quotes written for you. Because this is your year to live the life of your dreams, to heal, to witness, to be the one who queens. Once a silent star in the sky, lost, alone and unnoticed, she began to dream her life awake.

Crafting together the power of words and womanhood, writer Tanya Markul has written a completely unique poetry collection fit for the phenomenal readers of today.

In Tanya's words, "May we raise the bar for how we live our lives. May we ridiculously increase the amount of peace, play, creativity, beauty, love, and joy in everything we do. May we all sip from the wisdom of our suffering. And awaken with the courage to share our stories that can heal our inner and outer worlds."

The She Book is a collection of 107 poems. Spanning from a few words to a full page, they are written in a way that empowers and inspires the reader. But the poems also tackle issues like emotional pain, change, and self love.

An overall good read, recommended for fans of modern poetry.

I love the poems in this book. They speak directly to your heart. Tanya has a way of writing that resonates with all women around the globe. This will be a book that you will come back to again and again.

The words have registered for me that only one other poetry book has before (Fierce Fairytales). I devoured it in one sitting before lunch. The first poem I liked was twenty-three and I think it would be a really good mantra. Next, I thoroughly enjoyed 38, because it reminds me of a religion course I took last semester on Mindfulness where a big thingwas that, “I am enough.” I liked 67 a lot because it reminds me of meditative practice, and mindful breathing, and calming myself down. 98 really resonated with me because I think like there is a female in everyone’s life that is embodied and represented in that piece.

I will be highly recommending this!

Another wonderful collection of 107 poems. This would make a stunning gift for anyone who's in need of a little self-love motivation. A perfect way to connect to your inner Queen. love yourself, heal yourself, be brave, and know your worth. I loved every page!

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I truly appreciate it!

Nice poetry. It has a very universal quality. I think this book would be especially appealing to young women.

Self Love. Empowerment. Pain. Growth.

Those are the things that came to mind while I was reading "The She Book". I was surprised at how relatable the poems are to me and how comforted I was by the poems. There are no illustrations accompanying the poems but honestly, it is not needed. The poems alone are enough.

I recommend this book for those who are doubting themselves at the moment, enjoy modern poetry and need a little encouragement in their life.

The She Book is a collection of 107 poems followed by 12 brief zodiac portraits. These poems have a wide range of topics but untimely you will find healing, hope and resilience. I loved the variety of stylistic types. This was a beautifully crafted collection.

This is a collection of 114 short poems, and has some horoscopes at the end. Poem #90 spoke to me the most! Overall, I enjoyed the poems and I would read more of Tanya's work.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review.

"People are the way they are because of them. People love the way they love because of them. People do things they do because of them. Not because of you."

This was a very feminist poetry collection about Love, Hurting, and Being there for yourself.

I greatly enjoyed reading this collection and you could really feel the emotions that the author put into the work. There were a lot of original pieces that did not sound redundant when compared to other poetry collections. It is very empowering to every woman out there who is looking for something to get themselves back up. A lot of pieces definitely touched me and made me want more.

My favorite part was the section about the different star signs. There was something written for each one and made the piece seem more relatable in a way.

There have been more and more feminist poetry releases and there is never going to be too much, especially when it comes to empowerment in general., no matter who you are

//Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for sending me an ARC to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a collection of 107 poems to inspire, to chase dreams, to heal, and to enjoy.

Tanya Markul has written a beautiful collection of poems that is definitely a perfect fit in the market of modern poetry.

“May we raise the bar for how we live our lives. And awaken with the courage to share our stories that can heal our inner and outer worlds.”

I enjoyed the poems, they were all thought provoking and beautifully written. However, there wasn’t much of a tie between each of the poems. I would have liked some more organization and more of a theme and we could do that as chapters. Easy and quick read to get through.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thanks NetGalley.

Tanya has a way of writing that inspires and empowers you. I felt moved by her words encouraging self-love and care! Her poems range from a couple of lines to full pages but each one holds a special magic. I highly recommend this book of poetry to any woman who needs encouragement and validation in their everyday lives. Her writing also reminds me of modern poets such as Nikita Gill and Amanda Lovelace, so if you are fans of their works then you will fall in love with Tanya as much as I did!

I’ve never read the poet before I wasn’t sure what to expect. These poems are written in the second person as if the poet is speaking directly to the reader. This is an unusual style in poetry and works really well. The subject matter of the poems has been tackled an infinite number of times; love, hope, sexuality, being a woman etc. There’s nothing really new here but I enjoyed the poems all the same.

"She's the breath of a wild galaxy
disguised as summer's breeze."

This book was beautiful. It's exactly what I needed to read right now. It's about being there for yourself and I really needed to hear that. I'd highly recommend giving it a try. I'm looking forward to whatever Tanya decides to write next.

I like these kinda poetry book that focus on women' feelings, because as a woman, I, sometines, feel so dramatic about things and knowing that I'm not the only person who felt down, helps me cope with my down side very well.

The She Book is a beautiful and inspiring collection of poetry. It goes through the pain and wonder of being a woman in this world and how we can inspire others just by being ourselves.

“Come, sisters, let us sit around the fire.”

In The She Book, Tanya Markul delivers 114 short, emotive little poems that come together to create something greater than the sum of its parts. Reminiscent of Rupi Kaur or Lang Leav, The She Book was empowering, brave, soulful, and utterly readable.

I love the feminist women’s poetry trend that’s happening now and this book is another great addition. From her elegant and tender way of combing through the layers of emotions, to her modern and fierce declarations of womanhood, to her fun and powerful descriptions of women from each star sign, these poems made me want more.

Markul’s collection bounces playfully between poems about her own wounds and pain in life to the inspiring revelations they’ve brought her. She equally soothes and calls the reader to action. Her writing is responsive and relatable, making the reader feel as if she might be the “she” the book talks about instead. The author of this delightful collection uses repetition and simplicity with a masterful hand.

The She Book is about change and grief and self-love and healing and is written with so much heart. I will definitely be picking up a copy once this one hits shelves.

“What they thought
was a phoenix
rising from the ashes,
was really
a woman.”

An amazing book with amazing poetry that catches you from the first one to the last one.
It brings with each word a new feeling that has you reading and re-reading some of the pages just for that feeling once again.
Written masterfully by Tanya Markul, it's totally a book I would love to have and re-read once I feel like feeling

This is such a wonderful book of poems! I couldn’t put it down. I had to force myself to pace my reading! I’ve never read something that made me feel good about being the glorious beautiful mess that I am! It really opened my mind to poetry.

4.5 stars to this beautiful book!

I'd love to thank Tanya Markul, Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for this book in exchange for an honest review!

This is yet another unique poetry book! There are 107 poems called by their number. For example, the first poem was called "one"...and so on! Some of the poems were a little off the track for me, but as a whole, the author created a beautiful feminism message about loving yourself!

Poem "Eight":
"Rejection
taught her to let go of what didn't want her.

Abandonment
showed her how to stand on her own two feet.

Betrayal
awoke her intuition.

Pain
broke her heart wide open.

Loneliness
gave her permission to befriend herself."
