Absolutely glorious second book in the Sea Stone Sisters series, loved it and was sooo sad when I came to the end, not because it was sad, but because I wanted more. I loved the story , the characters, , the settings, France, Scotland, the dual time lines, absolutely everything! Eagerly awaiting the next one!

This is the second installment that started with the series "The Sea Stone Sisters." The book spans with dual timelines, 1931 and present. It is an epic story of a family that has been cursed when 4 sisters do not return home and the father stands 4 stones facing the sea. He then curses whoever should lay the stones down, not only one person but the including their entire family. As this is a series, this segment is about one of the sisters (I'm quite sure there will be other books detailing the other 3 sisters). It has everything you could want in a book; a mystery, sadness, grief and love. The question is will any of these characters find their way home and what of the curse. From the first page to the last, you won't be able to put the book down -- it was outstanding. My thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Moonstone Sister is the second book in the Sea Stone Sisters series, which is fast becoming my favorite historical fiction series. I paced myself to enjoy this book fully and not finish it in a day, finishing it instead in two days. It was such a great read!

Eleanor Buchanan is a brilliant storyteller. Her vivid descriptions transport you around the world and to different times, whether it’s York in the present day or the French Riviera in 1930.

The different perspectives and timelines kept me turning the page, wanting to find out more. There was mystery, joy, grief, sadness, laughter, but most of all love. It was wonderful to find characters from the first book making an appearance and getting to know the new characters intimately.

I can't wait to see where the story of the sisters goes in the next book!

Wow I loved this book I was hooked and can not wait for the rest of the series. It was full of romance and emotion with a touch of drama well worth reading

Set between 1931 and present day this is the 2nd book in the series. Loved the first one. Lily Blackmore has to leave Skara and she thought her Sister Daisy was going with her but they get split up, She ends up going to the French Riviera to an aunt she's never met and didn'y know anuthing about

The Blackmore sisters are four young women who live on the wild Scottish coast in the 1930s. One by one, they leave home to seek financial support from distant family members after their father, Charles Blackmore, squanders his fortune and turns to drink.
In the first book, The Sea Stone Sisters, we followed what became of eldest sister, Iris. In book 2, The Moonstone Sister, we see the story of Lily, the third sister, who is reluctantly taken in by one of her late mother’s sisters at her home on the French Riviera.
As in the previous book, we are also given a present-day timeline. Edinburgh lawyer Finlay is tasked with winding up the Blackmore Trust and needs to track down the descendants of the four sisters. Likeable Finlay played a part in the first novel, so it is great to meet him again, still searching for love as well as lost heirs.
He posts on social media a request for information about four gemstones that once belonged to the sisters. TV documentary researcher Clara, owner of a mysterious moonstone ring, gets in touch because the moonstone resembles the one in Finlay’s photo. The pair join forces to track down what happened to Lily Blackmore, who had previously owned the moonstone.
We follow Lily’s story in 1930s France as she struggles to gain independence and avoid unscrupulous people at the same time as developing an on-off friendship with Perry, a rich playboy about town and my favourite character. In the present day, we learn about Clara's complex relationships and her quest to find out about Lily.
This is settling into a delightful, dual-timeline romance and mystery series. I look forward eagerly to book 3.

Beautiful addition to the series and just as good! I love stories with mystery and inheritance and this was so good!!

It was such a joy to be reimmersed in the lives of the Sea Stone Sisters! This time the story concentrates on the life of Lily who was given the moonstone ring by her mother. Again two timelines are interwoven. In one we follow Lily in the the nineteen thirties on the French Riviera and in the other there is Clara in present day discovering her family history. Love stories are involved and again the author paints brilliant descriptions of the Cote d'Azure and Scotland.
