Description

Life is finally shaping up for Trisha. For the first time, she’s with a foster family she doesn’t hate. Her new school is decent, and she even has a boyfriend. Until the night she finds herself waking up in the woods covered in blood, a bullet hole in her dress.

Without her fae abilities, she’d be dead, but now the Faerie Council has given her an ultimatum. She has to help find an escaped fugitive, or be taken to Faerie, a place her missing mother told her horror stories about.

Now, Trish has to keep her day job a secret from her foster parents, join forces with the ex-boyfriend who killed her, and hunt down a dangerous criminal before he comes into his powers. Should be a piece of cake.

Life is finally shaping up for Trisha. For the first time, she’s with a foster family she doesn’t hate. Her new school is decent, and she even has a boyfriend. Until the night she finds herself...

Fun, fast, thrilling read. I was hooked from the beginning. Absolutely loved it, but I’m biased I love fae books so it was onto a good start. Great characters and an interesting plot, highly recommended read.

Regen by Cassie Greutman is a fun YA novel about a fae girl trying to live her life with her foster family while also learning about her fae abilities and dodging trouble from Faerie. I like how Trish is a teenager with confusing feelings with just the right amount of attitude that's not over the top. I liked the confusion it caused that she was a fae that was not supposed to care about humans but which obviously turned out to be untrue due to her growing up in the human world. I've always been a fan of stories about Faerie and Greutman did not disappoint. I enjoyed the different types of creatures as well as the abilities we saw in this first book of the Penchant for Trouble series. I'm excited to see what will be next.

A book about Trish who gets killed by her boyfriend and left for that, but is able regenerate due to her being Fae. The powers that be in the Fae world need her for something though, so now they are offering her freedom to live with her foster parents in exchange for her help in catching a fugitive alongside her killer boyfriend.

I really liked this book and definitely hope there is going to be a sequel, there needs to be a sequel! It was a solid storyline, you find out about stuff along with Trish, which I like...you get tiny explanations at a time and there is still a lot left to uncover. This was a book I read a little bit further in when I really didn't have the time and what made me think about it when I wasn't reading. Not a lot of books do that for me, so..if you like a book with a strong female lead, a bit of adventure and mystery, go get this one!

This is a really good YA fantasy.
It is fast paced with plenty of twists and turns.
Certainly a page turner that leaves you wanting more.

I adored this book and was drawn into it from the very start.

I get the impression that this is the first in a series, which I look forward to. It will be interesting to see what occurs with the characters as they grow and develop.

Really enjoyed Regen! I haven’t read many fantasy books but that’s starting to change. The plot is well written and I like all of the characters in the book.

Although this story takes some time to get to a good pace, it is one of the better YA fantasies that I've come across. There is eventually a good amount of action with a dash of romance appropriate to a teen book. Delightfully, Greutman didn't write a tale of a teenager with unique abilities that are used badly but in a heroic manner. The main character, Trisha, actually deals with difficult moral and ethical dilemmas that she must resolve.

this was a great start to a series, it was a great young adult novel with great characters and I enjoyed the world-built of this.

When I saw this involved fae, of course I had to pick it up. Trisha is a great heroine, and while a fairly typical teenager in most respects, she does have something special about her - the ability to regenerate. Although I'm not sure if I could team up with my ex, (who tried to kill me), to hunt down a dangerous criminal, I really loved how the plot evolved. It's a great read for anyone who enjoys an urban fantasy with a dash of thrills.
