Description

He guards his heart. She yields to no man. Will a chance encounter set a course for true love?

Noah McGuire buries his demons deep inside. But when he’s forced to return home to Brigadier Station to collect his inheritance, he can no longer avoid digging up his painful past. With the wounds of childhood trauma reopened, his world plunges into darkness until a beautiful pilot sets his heart afire.

Riley Sinclair isn’t afraid to fly against the wind. While the spunky helicopter pilot’s cattle herding business ruffles the feathers of most men, the handsome Noah seems different. But as demand for her skills grows, she worries that giving into passion could keep her dreams grounded.

As their chemistry soars, an unexpected tragedy throws their lives and their budding romance into a tailspin.

Can Noah and Riley leave their baggage behind to let love fly free?

The Sky over Brigadier Station is the first book written by Sarah Williams that I have read. I was thinking that it would be a totally clean romance which it is not. While there is by no means excessive bedroom scenes it is a somewhat open bedroom door. I think that I had misunderstood that Serenade Publishing was not a faith based publisher.

Still the story has engaging characters that I truly liked. It is a heartfelt coming home story for Noah as he returns home after leaving ten years ago. For some it may have triggers since it deals with alcoholism and domestic violence. The story is old with sincerity and emotional as Noah reconnects with family as his brother’s wedding is to take place. Jumping six months ahead at the last part of the story is rushed. The build up to that part is well developed flowing but Riley quickly changes her position on commitment with the story directly concluding. More development in this part would have made the story more complete. For that the story gets 4 stars instead of 5 which is what I would rate the first three fourths of the book.

Well written and entertaining romance. I enjoyed the plot, characters and the Australian setting. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.
