Description

Piper

Most people don’t think about the day they’ll die. They coast through life, blissfully unaware of how their time is ticking away. I wasn’t like most people. I welcomed death, wanted her to take me away from the prison I called life, but she refused. I tried twice only to survive. And then, when I thought I had nothing left it came.

A reason to live.

Rex was a small, unexpected ray of light my world of darkness that blossomed into a beam of sunshine. I thought, maybe this was why Death didn’t take me. Maybe she knew that if I held on a little longer things would turn around. But the third time Death came to my door wasn’t by choice. Someone else brought her, and I fear this time she might take me.

Rex

Being the son of a country star sucks. My parents are never around, I move every year or so, and I have no real friends. Everyone around me has an agenda. Everyone except Piper Lovelace. I can’t get that girl to notice me. Trust me I’ve tried.

Thankfully, fate stepped in and gave me the break I needed. I’ve got her attention, now I need her to give me a chance.

Reader advisement: Piper suffers though a physical trauma that may be a trigger for some readers. Due to this trauma, this is a clean romance with sweet intimacy and adult language. Enjoy!

Rex is the perfect book boyfriend. He and Piper go through a lot, both apart and together. Piper is super strong to survive everything she went through. Good writing with a few spelling errors. I received this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

This is one of those books that breaks you down, brings you back up and keeps you there. There was so much manipulation happening that made it so enticing. This couple was really destined to be together even after all that had happened between them. I would not wish that journey on anyone but if it ended up exactly the way it was supposed to, with being a couple at the end, the journey was well worth it.

Beautifully Broken by Bailey B was both an emotional and heartbreaking read as it was sweet and charming. Piper has not had an easy life and that is an understatement. She has suffered so much and does not want to live anymore. Rex is a child of a celebrity, but even so, life has not been easy for him. He may look like he has everything he could possibly want but looks can be deceiving. Though there are rampant rumors about her, she intrigues Rex. He wants to get to know her. Can she open up her heart to Rex and trust it will be in good hands? I absolutely loved Rex. He was sweet and gentle with Piper.

Beautifully Broken by Baily B was emotional as Rex and Piper deal with so much and yet when they were together it was unbelievably sweet. But their journey is not an easy one. I was captivated by this story from start to finish.

Beautifully Broken caught my eye because I relate to the broken more than anyone else. And then I read the blurb…and I was sold. I have no regrets. Bailey is a new author but you couldn’t guess from her writing. She has gifted us a beautiful, well thought out story, where everything is where it should be.

Rex & Piper feel real to me. Their story isn’t forced, there’s no storm of unnecessary bullshit keeping them apart for dumb reasons. Thank the lord! Instead, Beautifully Broken has a very real, very dangerous storm (that’s all I’ll say). Bailey perfectly pens the tension and uncertainty of falling in love. Rex & Piper share this wholesome, fragile, insecure love that we don’t often experience in YA/NA. And I love to see it.

Although Piper harbors a lot of darkness and bad memories, Beautiful Broken shows that relationships don’t have to create more of that. Falling in love doesn’t have to be toxic, dramatic & difficult to watch. It doesn’t have to give you more anxiety. Love can be a place of hope & healing. This book is a win for the beautifully broken.

Back to Piper’s darkness, Bailey handled her past trauma & wrote her anxiety really well. I’m impressed. It looks like Bailey just wanted to do everything right for us. Another thing done right is the story length I’m really happy that Bailey didn’t drag things out. There’s certain story-lines that I wish we could explore more like Piper’s relationship with both Cooper & Logan, as well as Rex’s family ermmm… situation? But I’m just being greedy. Ultimately, they’re a small sacrifice for the perfect pace. And this story feels complete without those pieces.

This is the story of two broken HS Seniors who find each other. Piper and Rex are both damaged in different ways, but are able to heal together. They’re relationship is sweet and I’m glad they both got a happy ever after!

First, I want to say that Bailey B is a new author. Because of that, I’m more than happy to be able to read and review. Being a new author is tough. You have to have thick skin to deal with the reviews of those that may hate your book. I have a lot of respect for authors that are new and put themselves out there.

Beautifully Broken is about a young girl who has dealt with a dead beat druggie as a mom. Piper is in all sense of the word, broken. She has a great foster family, who always has her back. Though, it isn’t until Rex walks into her life that the pieces are put back together slowly. Rex is her savior, who teaches her what it is like to feel and be loved.

This was a great novel. It held my attention and I didn’t want to put it down. With work and children, I finished this book in less than two days. That’s how good it is. My heart broke for Piper and everything she had gone through, and I instantly fell in love with Rex, who protected her before he even knew her. It’s definitely worth it to pick this book up and read it. Bailey B is going to do great things.

I was given an ebook copy of Beautifully Broken in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I am not going to give too much information about this book. The reason being that you should read it for yourself.

Here's what I will tell you: Piper is from the wrong side of the tracks. Junkie mom, no money, and the school outcast. She suffers from an anxiety disorder that stems from PTSD. Rex: famous father, parents are always gone, raised by his nanny, rich, popular, but also a loner. This is a beautiful story about two beautiful, broken people. It shows how love can prevail. How family doesn't have to biologically related. And sometimes kindness, patience and love can heal even the most broken people.

I read this book in one sitting. It was the saddest, oh my gosh, sad and happy tears, and then throw in a happy ending kind of book. Some parts were pretty crazy. However, I can't recommend this book enough. I believe that if you read it, you will love it.

Broken people can be put together with the right glue (love).

This was a very emotional read. I can’t imagine going through what Piper went through. I hope the other characters get their own stores.

I thought that this was a really good story.

I felt that it was very well written, it was a heartfelt read that was a lovely romantic read. I really enjoyed the flow that the author had with the story, it was a lovely book to sit down and read and I read it in one sitting.

The characters were strong and they were made to be together. They were very well developed and the book had me hooked from the outset through to the excellent ending.

It is 5 stars from me for this one, it was a lovely book to read and one I will be very highly recommending too.

I’ve read this ARC for an honest review. Again I’m going step by step. I guess I don’t know how to ease into any topic. :)

1) I love the growth of the plot and the build up in general. The presentation of the characters is also very satisfactory. The tone of the story is also very flawless.

2) I have a problem with Danika and Logan. I’m hoping I didn’t miss if it was there but I’m seriously not sure who Danika is.. while I have some ideas, it’s not a clear issue. But a good hint for any follow up stories.

3) I have a problem with how the hero and heroine seemingly jump from one point to another, again seemingly without any or sufficient internal struggle or evaluation. Like the proposal? How did we get there? Last I saw, they were dating? As lovable as Rex was, I wasn’t sure how he got to the point at the end of the story.

4) As much as I love the character build up for Piper and how she was presented and her troubles were elaborated really successfully, I have a problem with how she comes or doesn’t come to terms with the events towards the end. It felt like the wrap-up was abit too quick for both Piper and Rex.

5) It was very inspiring how the author worked the abuse issues in the background and their impacts on both Piper and Rex. It was a wow point.

6) Finally, it was kind of sudden when we were presented with both Logan’s and Carter’s feeling about Piper. I would have liked to be told more about them both from Piper’s POV before seeing how they value her. Otherwise it sounds abit cliche and unrealistic.

I can recommend it for those who love high school drama, domestic abuse, adult themes. If there happens to be any follow up or spin off’s, I’d like to read, like Logan’s or Carter’s or Jenny’s stories.

4.5 Stars

I loved this book! This story was great and I loved the characters. I am hoping she continues writing about Bane,Logan and Cooper because I would love to hear their stories. This book wasn't total insta-love but it was pretty close. Surprisingly it didn't take away from the story like it usually does. I can't wait to read more from this author even it's not part of this world.

Beautifully Broken is a well-written, dark romance about two high-school seniors, Piper and Rex. Piper has had an incredibly difficult life between her drug-addicted, prostitute mother and her on-again/off-again time in foster care. What confuses me from the beginning, however, is her "slutty girl" reputation. People assume she's a slut because of her mother, however, rather than ignore and avoid those rumors, she fuels them by pretending to trade sexual favors for money. Hello? Self-sabotage much? Rex has had a very privileged life financially but without any love and support from his parents. As the child of a country music star, Rex has been raised by his nanny, Gretchen, until recently when his parents bought the most recent home that they moved him to - to live in alone. So although he doesn't really like anyone at school, he throws these huge parties just so people will be around. It felt a little like Gatsby to me, especially once he zeroed in on Piper and kept hoping she would show up. And why would she if everyone hates her and vice versa?

So some things were confusing to me, but overall, I enjoyed this romance and was rooting for each of them to get their HEA. Rex is absolutely swoon-worthy, so anyone looking for their next YA book love, he is it. It was more challenging for me to like and connect with Piper because of her strange outlook on dealing with the school bullies, but my heart couldn't help but beat a little faster as she and Rex started to really connect with one another. Bailey B.'s debut novel is sweet and romantic, but just a little too unrealistic at times. I think a younger person will certainly find this to be a five-star read.

*Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this review copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I thought this book was good, but had a hard time believing that Rex was only supposed to be 17 in the beginning of the book with how grownup he acted and the fact that he lived on his own already.

I received this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Great romance from the first page to the last. Just love the characters and the writing really surprised me.I highly recommend this one.

This story featured Rex and Piper. Piper had had an abused childhood and was shunned by most of her classmates in highschool. She catches the attention of Rex - who has had a privileged childhood but not a happy one. He is the son of a singing star and mostly left on his own. Their relationship was sweet but not without issues. He loved her, but she was trying to protect him. I almost like her speech to her classmates at graduation the best. It hopefully will wake up the rest of the students

I received a free copy of Beautifully Broken in exchange for an honest review. This had some great topics that were at times very deep.

I love how strong Piper was and even though she was dealt a pretty crappy hand in life, she still persevered.

I wish there was some closure with Bane. I think he would have an interesting story to tell too.

Overall, decent read.

Every now and then I try to read a debut of a new author. The blurb of this book caught my attention and I was glad to meet the writing of Bailey B. Beautifully Broken is a gripping book about two young people, both with issues, who find peace and purpose in one another.
Piper has grown up at the wrong side of the tracks. Growing up in several foster homes and being part time raised by her addictive biological mother, hasn't shown Piper exactly how life could be. Therefore, she has already tried to kill herself several times. She has anxiety attacks and she doesn't want someone holding her. She goes to school with two brothers (the Harris twins), with whom she has lived several years at a foster home. While Logan steers clear of her, Cooper is always at her side, to defend her from the bullies at school.
Rex is the son of a rock star. Everyone always wants to be his friend and girls fan themselves over him. However, Rex never knows if people like him for him or whether they just want to be friends with someone famous. So, his friendships are shallow and he feels all alone sometimes.
He always feels drawn to Piper, because she looks alone as well. When they are pushed together by accident, they start talking. And realize they have a lot in common. So, while there friendship grows, Piper's world starts to come crashing in. Can she learn to rely on someone else? Or will she push Rex away? And will Rex realize that the other side of tracks can be very dangerous? Find out for yourself in this wonderful debut. Four out of five stars from me and awaiting the next part in this series. Well done Bailey and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I like the idea of a broken girl trying to be strong and face life even though she gave up on it twice. I guess the reason why the book's title is "Beautifully Broken" because it is not just about Piper, but it also shows readers how Rex is at the same situation as her with a different reason, the families of Rex and Piper, Jenny the friend of Rex, Bane friend of Piper and the whole damn society who was quick to judge Piper.

Damn, writing this review made me realize how toxic this book can be but how it was told was beautiful that’s why beautifully broken is the perfect title for this. I like how strong the relationship of Piper with her brothers, I just want to see HEA for each of the twins, Cooper and Logan, these characters need their own book!

I received a copy of this book on NetGalley for my honest opinion and thoughts about this book. My only problem with this book is, there wasn't enough pages I just wanted it to keep going and was left with wanting more at the end. In this book it starts with a young girl called Piper and is in her final year of High School. Piper isn't just your typical teenager she has had a troubled past and is now playing havoc with her present. Having nightmares and not sleeping is just the start of it. When Piper was a little girl she lived with her mother who is a drug addict and prostitute. Therefore Piper went into care with the Harris family who has the house, the money and a set of twins called Logan and Cooper. This was the first time Piper felt like she belonged somewhere and felt part of a family. Then Piper moved back with her mum and the worst night of her life occurred and everything changed from there.

Until she met Rex at school who saved her from a boy forcing himself onto her and that was the start of Pipers heart beginning to warm and her anxiety fading away. Rex has had his eye on Piper for a long time and he sees his chance to pursue his feeling and see where the relationship would go. But he needed to be ready for the storm that surrounded Piper and her life and what happened previously. I wont go into two much detail about the story as it will give away the whole book and I want you to feel how I felt when reading it.

The characters are so likeable and you start to feel part of the story and getting to know each persons mannerisms and characteristics. I enjoyed the story and where it ended at the end, but I was left wanting more and hopefully book 2 can provide me that when it comes out in May. The only thing I was confused about at the beginning where the Author was introducing Piper and I was trying to figure out if she lived at home or with the Harris'. But after a couple of chapters I understood the situation and got back into the flow of the story.

This was such a nice and loveable story and once I had time to read I didn't want to put it down. I would recommend this book if you want a quick read but with a brilliant story line with two people healing and helping each other overcome their worries and to feel appreciated again.

This Author (Bailey B.) is new to writing romance stories but the one I have just read was just the right amount of perfect and you need to go look at her books and give her a chance. As when starting as a new author every reader and every review counts!

Such a heartbreaking and beautiful book. It was hard to read at some parts due to some rough subjects but an amazing read.

An angsty book about highschool where the main characters are dealing with a lot of problems. Damaged reputation, bullying, drugs, mean boys and cruel girls, absent parents - everything is put in the mix resulting in an exciting novel. It was an enjoyable read.
I liked Rex very much, he is such a nice guy!
After finishing the book I am looking for Logan and Cooper stories.
Thanks to the publisher, author and Netgalley for the kindly provided ARC, all opinions are mine

Rex was SUCH A GOOD BOOK BOYFRIEND! Maybe even a book husband for me at this point. I liked that they had character development together as well as apart. That's something really critical that I look for in romance novels and this did it really well. Definitely looking forward to more from this author.

I loved the Nashville series and thought that this book would be great! It definitely got off on a strong footing and kept my attention through twists and turns and slow burns. I do wish the ending had been fleshed out a little more but overall this was entertaining.

Beautifully Broken is a messy and complicated story.
This is the story of a girl battered by rumors.
It's a story with attempted suicide.
Piper and Rex are two teens who are a product of their upbringings. And their story is full of angst.
The writing is great, with very well developed characters. Seriously, Rex is way more than I expected.
Overall, Beautifully Broken is a great read.

I really wanted more intimacy to this story, but I think it was a really good thing that there wasn't much at all since Piper went through trauma. I think that was very wise of Bailey B to do. I enjoyed this book.
