The first in a brand new series from New York Times bestselling author, R.C. Ryan.
Brand Merrick is a take-charge cowboy who considers relax a four-letter word. So when an injury lands him six weeks of physical therapy, he intends to keep right on working-until his grandmother hires a therapist to stay at their family ranch. He's not used to following orders, or slowing down, but Avery Grant has a way of getting him to do things he'd never thought he'd do . . .
Avery hates to admit it, but this super sexy rancher is testing her patience...and her professionalism. She's a born-and-bred city girl, yet she finds herself drawn to the rugged wilderness and the equally rugged cowboy she's here to help. But when a threat from her past follows Avery to Montana, it's Brand who rides to the rescue-if only she'll put her trust in him, and the growing feelings in her heart.

My Kind of Cowboy is my kind of a read. Set in the breathtaking foothills of the stunning Teton Mountains, Avery arrives on the Merrick ranch to provide physical therapy to Brand. He's a stubborn cowboy, but sparks fly as attraction ignites with the pair. Ryan conjures up delectable cowboys for her characters. Trouble follows Avery from Michigan and by the time anyone figures out who the perpetrator is, will it be too late? I loved the author's descriptions of Teton sunsets. Having seen those personally, she nailed the beauty and the grandeur. Add hunky cowboys and readers will all want to move to Wyoming.
I’ve read several books by RC Ryan and they all have a suspenseful twist to the typical cowboy romance. I thought that this plot twist was much different from the other ones in her stories and found myself really enjoying the book. I was eager to find out what was going to happen to put the main character in danger. RC Ryan did not disappoint! Oh yeah, then there is the other part of the story - Avery Grant (physical therapist) comes to Wyoming to help Brand Merrick properly heal from a bad fall. The Merrick family is amazing and the love story that evolves is so worth the time to read!
This is the first book I've read by RC Ryan so thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read it. It was a good story with well-done descriptions of a beautiful setting. I also really liked the characters, not just the main couple, Brant and Avery, but also the rest of the family. Great banter and a slow burn romance rounded out the book, as well as a little intrigue- who is stalking Avery? I'm giving it 4 stars because it did seem a bit slow so it took a while to pick up. While I thought that the characters had chemistry, it was more subtle until I got more into the book so definitely a slow burn. However, the author has made me curious about the other characters in this wonderful, extremely extended family so I'll definitely be looking for other books if this is a series!
Ah, loved this book so much I couldn't put it down and devoured it in 1 day. I spend the entire read with a big smile on my face and am in love with both Brand Merrick and Avery Grant. I honestly could not get enough of these two and this wonderful new cast of characters! So GOOD! My Kind of Cowboy was such a fantastic read and I'm super excited to see what's next from this author. Happy reading everyone!!
LOVE RC RYAN!! This book is a bit different then the others. Its a bit slow moving but it is in depth. Rich characters as always. Ryan weaves a beautiful story with this book. She has a way of drawing the reader in and making you feel as if you are in the story with them. Brand and Avery are a unique couple and it was a pleasure to see that develop without all the instant sheet burning. I like to see a story develop and this one did not disappoint! I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review!
