Joseph Of Egypt

The once-familiar stories of the Bible are not very well-known today. Martin tackles the story of a young man who persevered through trials and dangers. Imagine if you were your dad's favorite child and your siblings sold you as a slave. Or if you were imprisoned unjustly - and then became ruler of a nation.

It's an impossible story - except that it happened thousands of years ago in Egypt. Read this, complete with historical background and creative non-fiction, and you'll come to admire and respect a young man who stayed true to his convictions. His obedience made him the man of the hour and God's solution in a natural disaster.

Recommended either as an easy read or as a story to read to kids and teens.

I know this story very well but I love reading books on the subject of Joseph not Jesus’s father but the Joseph that was sold to the Egyptians and became a great person in the land of Egypt.  

I think this would be a great book for kids ages 9-15.  You can just read it or you can use it for a bible study.  I highly recommend this book.

I particularly enjoyed the reading Joseph of Egypt by Martin K.M. because of the interesting historical data it provides. From the start, the book allows the reader to feel part of the Biblical events and experiences Joseph faced. I especially enjoyed the human side pointed out in the book and how modern people can relate to the sadness expressed in the storyline. The book maintains the reality of life experienced by Joseph since his childhood and the continuous dangers he encountered. I recommend this book to any person who enjoys historical novels but also wants to learn about specific Biblical individuals and their life struggles. The book follows a clear narrative without losing the storyline in the middle of the plot. I, therefore, continued to read the novel until completion. I will definitely read another book published by the same author.

It's funny how many times I've heard the story of Joseph, read the story of Joseph, listened to preacher's preach about Joseph... but here's the thing when you find yourself in your own "Egypt" the story takes on an entirely new meaning. Looking forward to sharing this with my son (9 years old).

This is a lovely, straightforward version of the story of Joseph. I appreciated that it stuck closely to the Bible but added some details based on the historical record. There was a clear narrative but without too much fluff based on speculation. A great, quick read for a Sunday.
