Her career is built on spurning love and staying single, though she’s never been opposed to the occasional lover. As long as they don’t last. And she’ll do whatever it takes to make sure that the world falls in love with The Sin Girl.

But she wasn’t ready for the positive pregnancy test on her first international tour. There’s only one man that could be the father: Eddie. While Fiona grapples with the next steps, Eddie goes gung ho being the family man she never asked for, and the pressure from the label is mounting. I absolutely fell head over heals for Eddie and Fiona! Their chemistry was palpable and their heat emanating off the pages! I loved how they were each other’s perfect half in every way! They competed one another in every way!

Fiona’s scars run deep and keep her running even when her heart tells her to stay! Eddie has never been more sure of anything in his life and he will do what he has too to show Fiona he’s not going to let her fall without catching her!

3.5 stars

I did actual finish this book. I read it fully until about 40%, then I started skipping around to the end. I thought it started off good. I did. It just didn’t keep my interest.
Overall it was a decent story with likable characters.

ARC received for review

Back to the original peeps for this book. Eddie is Amara's brother and due for his HEA. Loved Eddie, but Fiona sure did get on my nerves. She needed a therapist a whole lot sooner than she got one. The past did a number on her, but I didn't see it as being as bad as she did. Loved seeing all the old peeps again.

4 1/2 Sin Girl Stars!

I’ve been waiting for Eddie’s story since the first book. I wanted to see how this over protective older brother would handle falling in love. And I wasn’t disappointed!

Fiona ghosts Eddie after their one-night stand and goes out on tour as the rock chick “Sin Girl”. Three months later when the tour is over, Fiona fears are realized ... she’s pregnant with Eddie’s baby. Eddie is ecstatic that Fiona is back in his life and he couldn’t be happier that she’s carrying his baby. He is a born protector and now he’ll have his own family to look after. But it’s been drilled into Fiona since she was little that you can‘t rely on a man because once they get what they want from you, they leave. Will Fiona give Eddie a chance or will her instinct to run win?

I loved Eddie and Fiona’s story ... a little flip from the usual rock star story with Fiona being the rock star. And Eddie ... what a dream ... who wouldn’t want a strong, protector in their life? I love that Ms Leigh brings in the characters from previous books quite a bit ... it’s like their stories continue. A great addition to the series!

It's a long journey from Sin Girl to Loyal Girl:
Fiona and Eddie have an instant attraction and connection but there is a problem. Fiona not only doesn't believe in relationships, but she is also contractually obligated to avoid them. She has portrayed herself as The Sin Girl but also personally has a lot of insecurities and is terrified of being rejected and hurt, so closes herself off. Thankfully Eddie is patient and persistent in his pursuit of Fiona.
There was a lot of angst and drama and for the vast majority of the book the main characters were apart or unhappy. There were a few steamy moments but overall the tone of the book felt a bit too melancholic to me. I could empathize with Fiona having hurts that made trusting in love difficult, but I would have preferred a few more lighthearted and tender moments to break up all the angst.
This is book 5 in the Breaking series but can definitely be read as a standalone. I had not read the prior books but was able to follow along without any difficulty.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

A charming rock romance book about Eddie and Fiona. Smoking hot love scenes and relatable groupie love . I was happy this book didn't end with a cliff hanger.

Received ARC in exchange for an honest review

'Breaking the Fall' quickly became an unexpected favorite for me. I requested this Arc thinking it would be your run of the mill erotica; a short book that lacks any substance. However 'Breaking the Fall' was anything but. I was excited to find that it actually developed the characters and plot throughout the story, it was way more than just sex.

I loved watching the relationship between Eddie and Fiona evolve. From the first few chapters, you can practically feel the heat between the characters, and not just a sexual heat. We feel the emotional turmoil of Eddie after Fiona ditches him, we can feel for Fiona in regards to her past. We knew more about these characters than just what their favorite sex position was, and in my opinion, that makes any intimate scenes within the novel that much more powerful.

I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone, especially those who may not prefer this genre usually. 'Breaking the Fall' shattered the boundaries of traditional erotica and I will definitely be picking up more of this series.

Breaking the Fall is possibly the final book in Ember Leigh’s Breaking series and readers finally get Eddie’s story. While I like the overall premise of this book, I did struggle a little with Fiona’s character. In fairness, she had many issues that needed professional intervention, but I also felt that Fiona made much more of some of these issues than was necessary. Overall, a decent story and a good wrap up with many of the original characters making an appearance.

I guess I'm not sure what I expected from this story, but there were some impressive elements

1. Though this is part of a series, I didn't feel as if I was missing much by not being familiar with the other characters' stories in books #1-4. Plenty of times, books call themselves standalones, but the reader may feel as if they should've read the previous books to understand what's happening. It kind of ruins the reading experience when you jump midway into a book. I'm glad Ember Leigh figured out how to have another story exist in the universe she created without me feeling off-balance because of the lack of previous familiarity.

2. Even if the story is sort of formulaic, there were clear moments where you can see the author can write intelligently. There were some good turns of phrases that showed Ember Leigh has a poet's soul: "Fiona's voice weaved in and out of the music as though she was sewing the melody together."

Lastly, I wish I understood Spanish so I can comprehend the swoon-worthy murmurings from Eddie.

Eddie works in the live music industry scouting talent. Fiona, aka the Sin Girl, has a goal to make it big playing music and her hard work is paying off. During one wild night out, Eddie collides with Fiona and he knows she's better than good. The two spend one sizzling week together and Eddie believes he's found Mrs. Right. Until she disappears leaving zero contact information behind. A surprise pregnancy brings her back to Eddie and he is ready to step up for her, but she's not sure what she wants.

I loved this book. I especially loved what a good guy Eddie was. Fiona has issues stemming from her past, but once she begins to recognize that and take steps to deal with it, I really enjoyed her. The two were able to form a great relationship. This was my first book from Ember Leigh and I intend to read the rest!

Thanks to NetGalley ad the publisher for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow-what a story, this book had me from the start to the end. I liked both of the main characters, Eddie Valenzuela and Fiona Frank. Fiona an up and coming singer in the business is finally starting to make it and is getting ready for her first big tour when the two of them meet. Eddie who has been around the music industry and books bands for clubs he works for knows she is a star when he hears hear sing the night they meet. Instantly attracted to each other they leave and spend the weekend together.
Fiona is known as the “Sin Girl” is good for hookups but not a relationship, though everything feels different from Eddie she has a tour she needs to get to the airport for. Eddie sees her running around his apartment Monday morning knowing something has changed with her but she won’t talk to him. Wanting to make breakfast for her she tells him she has to run. He is wanting her cell number and she says she will write it down. She leaves and he feels like something is wrong. Looking around there is no number later he sees her at the airport with some actor hanging on her saying that they are a couple.
Eddie works through his pain of losing her when she arrives back from her tour. She also as an extra special gift and the two of them must work together. Yes, she is still fighting Eddie on that as well, especially when he mentions the word family and wanting to be together. When everything comes crashing down around with her record label and others, she taught her friends she finds out who really are her true friends. She also finds therapy the only thing she needs to do now finds her love, Eddie. The end of the book and epilogue I would call it are really good. I found this to be a very good book and I liked all of the characters.

This is the first book of Ms. Leigh that I have read, and I cannot wait to read more! I absolutely fell in love with Fiona and Eddie. Fiona is an up and coming musician who's one night (weekend) stand with Eddie leaves her pregnant. While going on 2 international tours, Fiona will have to decide between her career and motherhood. The sassiness and no holds bar from Fiona as well as her vulnerabilities and insecurities made her relatable. Eddie's stubbornness and ethics made him irresistible. Fiona is Ying to Eddie's Yang. I did not realize that this was a series, but I anxiously look forward to reading all of te previous books. Thank you Netgalley for introducing me to a new author.
